A list of puns related to "Mulholland"
Watched Mulholland Drive for the first time, because Iβve been exploring Lynch films since finishing all of Twin Peaks. Itβs fascinating how much of Mulholland Drive made it into The Return, thematically and otherwise. Still deciding what my interpretation of the filmβs events are, but thereβs no missing the parallels.
From the mysterious man behind the cafe who looks like the guys above the gas station, to a case of switched identity after entering a box, to an implied dreamworld mind trip reminiscent of Audreyβs story, to a Rebekah Del Rio appearance in a theater thatβs shot similarly to the home of the Fireman, it was hard NOT to see all the ways this connected to season 3. You could almost believe itβs in the same universe and the Lodge is at work in Mulholland Drive.
What other connections do we see between these works? I watched Blue Velvet and didnβt find it to feel nearly as connected to Twin Peaks as Mulholland Drive, though there were certainly connections (such as the lumber industry as a cornerstone of a townβs economics). But what interpretations do people have about the way these stories intersect?
I started a rewatch last month, I know I wasn't dreaming... now it's gone?
I've been on a bit of a Lynch adventure recently, finally making my way through his filmography after nearly binge-watching Twin Peaks back in November.
Mulholland Drive was my latest watch, I watched it, enjoyed it then went to sleep. A week later to the day while working I heard in my mind "no hay banda" and suddenly the film made sense.
This isn't the first time that's happened with a Lynch for me, ideas, scenes, phrases will in a flash suddenly open my understanding on a deeper level of the work.
Does anyone else get this feeling? It's quite unlike any other work of art for me.
been obsessed with the film a good ton ever since i first watched it in October last year and my love for it is still very much growing. Genuinely want to get a tattoo dedicated to it but probably of something in the movie that's instantly recognizable (re: if you saw someone on the streets with it, you'd go !!!).
Any good/interesting ideas? was thinking of the blue box/key but that almost seems vague to me. was also considering the word "Silencio" being in blue but i do want to hear other creative thoughts!
Saying I like this movie is actually an understatement, I absolutely adore this movie as it's my all time favorite, and I wish to watch more movies similar to that as I'm not an expert of the genre
I already watched Memento, Donnie Darko and other David lynch's movies, just putting this out here cause I noticed those are the first few things that comes to a lot of people's mind when I ask that question
People beat up on this track so much... why? It's textures are amazing, and the brass sections are solid.

New to riding in LA. I want to get to Dirt Mulholland and the other trails in the West for some gravel riding. I'm staying in the west side near Franklin Canyon, and there seems to be relatively high traffic most of the day. Are there certain times of day that are safest to ride? And what would be the best path to get to the trails?
I want to see the detail in the womanβs face at the end.
The Cowboy tells the director that he'll show up again twice more if he messes up.
He literally shows up twice more in the film after this. It's so obvious but it just clicked in my head. I wanna buy David a chocolate milkshake to show my respects now.
So it appears that the criterion version of this film isn't getting a release here. We are however getting a seperate 4K Bluray which is coming out at the end of January.
Does anyone know anything about the differences in quality between these? As far as I am aware, the criterion copy was approved by Lynch?
In fact, it beats most of the horror films that is on my top 10 list. The film does not have a lot of gore or murders but its the atmosphere and mystery of the film that makes it so scary. You never really know what is going on but you always get that creepy feeling that something really dark is going on. It is set in Hollywood and it revolves around the dark side of the film industry. I am a die hard horror fan and i have to say this actually freaked me out. Its kind off a indie/mystery film by David Lynch who made Twin Peaks. This is not a film for everybody and if gore and slashers is the thing that scares you. But this film is like no other i have ever seen before. After many years it have still not left my mind. I wish i could delete it from my memory and watch it over again. That creepy feeling i got from the film is not something i usually get from most horror films
obviously by my username Mulholland Drive is possibly my favorite film ever.
I already thought the bluray looked stunning. Going to be getting a 4k player finally, and will definitely be ordering Mulholland Drive (again).
Compared to the bluray transfer, is there much of a difference? Obviously it's going to be better by some degree, just want to know by how much. If you noticed textures/details that you hadn't before, etc.
thanks!
I rememeber there was this meme where there were someone put david Lynch behind the dumpster from Mulholland Drive. It was a thing that someone did in after effects. Lynch would salute the guy looking behind the dumpster and say "BLUE SKIES AND GOLDEN SUNSHINE." but I can't find it. it was super funny and I was wondering if someone could help a friend out.
And I just want to say Criterion absolutely knocked it out of the park with their first 4K release. Picture quality is simply exquisite.
