A list of puns related to "Meistersinger"

I thought it was wonderful, with an excellent cast. However I was a little unsure about the direction they took Hans Sachs. Usually he is played as irritable and condescending but ultimately with a big heart, but last night I got way more of the former and not much of the latter. In particular he didn't seem to 'warm up' in the third act like he usually does and it left me feeling a little unsatisfied. For example, his irritation over Eva complaining about the shoes didn't come across as surface level irritation there to reveal his conflicted affection for Eva, but instead it just felt like he was being an unreasonable grump.
But, this is a quibble I'm what was one of my favorite love opera experiences of all time.
Are you into manual wind watches? What manual winders do you own? This MeisterSinger Circularis is my only manual winding watch. I think it's beautiful but am certain there are plenty who aren't fans of this brand and style. The biggest quirk is the single hand design. With no second hand and only 5-minute increment markers it's less accurate than most watches. I think it's basically a nice looking conversation starter.

The Wagner Society of NY is holding a half-day seminar on Die Meistersinger this Sunday, 10/31 from noon-4:00pm at Symphony Space on the UWS. Some lectures, and an orchestra and cast roundtable. $40 live; also a livestream.

Additionally, we need a couple of people to do light stagehand work: just moving some tables and chairs, and wheeling out a piano. $100 pay for the afternoon. DM if interested and available.
Saw the opening performance at The Met last night and it's a killer cast in fine form.
Hi everyone, after a friend had to cancel I'm looking for someone that's interested in a ticket for the Meistersinger performance at Bayreuth on August 12th.

Hello, I hope this is the right place to post this. I am new to opera, but would like to watch Die Meistersinger von NΓΌrnberg. I see that there are many versions of this opera, including a 2017 version that has been criticized for making significant changes (not that I necessarily understand all that).
Do you have any recommendations? If so, could you also please tell me where I can find them? I would prefer video versions with English subtitles as my goal is to understand the story and not solely to listen to the music.
Iβm trying to find a copy of this recording and am just having no luck at all. Digital would be grand, but I wouldnβt turn my nose up at a CD copy either. It just seems to be nowhere that I would normally buy from. Thanks for any help!
