A list of puns related to "Mbta"
I sent a message to the Mayorβs office after she declared we needed to be more conversational on the train. I realize now it was senseless as sheβs the mayor of Boston and the T is run by the state, but conversing is really the last thing we need.
All in all the service itself seems to have gotten so much worse since covid began.
However the last straw for me was a bunch of teens getting on at JFK the other day, rolling and lighting a blunt, then opening the door between train cars and blowing it out there, thinking no one could smell it.
What do I do in that scenario? I canβt put my hands on them I canβt make them stop with my words and I am not going to hit the emergency button which is only going to delay the trains even longer (and honestly I wouldnβt call it an emergency anyway).
The service blows. I ride the red and orange five days a week and have to assume itβs going to be late and/or delayed every day to get to work on time.
Iβm so tired of the train coming to a complete stop for 10, 15, 20 minutes with no explanation.
People will stand at the stations with masks on and then get on the train and pull their mask down as if theyβre entering a safe haven. Itβs the last place you shouldnβt be wearing a mask.
There are those who want to have personal conversations on speakerphone while walking up and down the train car, and I canβt stop you. But we donβt own the place. Quit acting like Wilfred on the fucking Snowpiercer.
All this stuff only contributes to the resentment I have as a daily rider.
Yesterday there was a guy pulling the ads off the train interior, for an uncompensated foot research study, instead of just putting the number on it in his phone that he was using. And in doing so heβs leaning into people, not even bothering to say excuse me or show any common courtesy, and Iβm sorry to say this but he smelled like literal trash.
I could go on and on with examples of stuff that pisses me off but weβve all experienced it, and for the sake of sounding like a whiney little baby Iβll stop there.
I donβt know who to blame who to get mad at or what to do except suck it up. We have these βall new train carsβ for what? Theyβre not getting me anywhere any faster, nor are they keeping problematic riders at bay (no pun intended).
Like the title says itβs the worst part of my day. Sorry for anyone who read this far I really just wanted to get it all off my chest.
I understand not having them at every stop, but youβd think theyβd have some at some of the major stops.
It's my wife's, from our first date, it'd mean a lot to her to get it back though we know it's a long shot.
I used to have Android before I got a car two years ago, car is now totaled and I remember not long before I swapped to ios, MBTA changed something to how their apps work and I needed to use a newer one. I didn't like it. I'm looking at the MBTA website and it's still kinda of hard to figure out where the bus will be at what stop.
I used to have an app that would simply put a little gps logo to where the bus was a few moments ago, and I could always just walk ahead and catch it cause it was mostly accurate, I didn't need to worry about street names, just where I was and the bus was.
What app do you use?
Starting Sunday, December 19, about one in every 20 scheduled bus trips will be dropped, said the MBTA.

They say it is temporary, but it will take time to find and train drivers.
A few month ago I saw them on green line shuttle, about a month after that the shuttles were operated by Yankee Line.

Hi all,
College student here planning a trip to Boston with my little brother. Iβm just trying to figure out how the MBTA and CharlieCard situation works. We will be there for about four days, and plan on using public trans A LOT as we want to also explore the greater Boston area. If I purchased a 7-day pass for us:
Would I have to buy 2 passes since we are two people? Or would one be okay for two people to use?
Does the pass also include use of the busses and ferries? Or is it only the metro.
Iβm new to public transportation, we donβt have it in SC where I live. Any help would be really appreciated!
Noticed last night at downtown crossing that the new kiosks donβt accept certain older debit/credit cards! They really should have notified us of this, or at least kept a few of the older machines around for the transition. Neither of my Bank of America cards worked, both expire in 22, they have chips but no tap feature. Nothing wrong with the cards otherwise! Thought I could use the ATM in downtown crossing to just pay with cash but that was out of orderβ¦
Edit: clarification- Charlie card was out of money, needed to refill- gave me an error something along the lines of βthis card type is not acceptedβ the worst part is there were 2 older machines unplugged in the corner :(
