I am currently living in an area where it’s not physically safe for me too publicly display that I am Muslim. Until 2020 I had been homeless for about a year, during last year my government gave us money and from that I was able to use it to get back to my father’s house to live in the shed.
My plan now is to save up enough to fly to Mauritania so that I can get a visa to spend a year learning how to speak and read Arabic, and to study the Quran. I want to devote my entire life to studying Quran and helping others revert to Islam.
At the place I plan to go for study I heard had some students who come from all different countries to study, even some come with little money and struggle to get by, I want to help my brothers when I am there so that they can get the most learning out of their experiences.

If you've been to Mauritania, mind sharing what your itinerary was like and some general details about your trip. Would you visit again? Did you enjoy the trip overall?
When I think of Mauritania I think of the iron ore train that every 'influencer' has done, the surprisingly modern capital city (well, sort of) and a whole bunch of vast desert with small towns spread out. Some interesting towns being: Ouadane, Chinguetti, Atar, Tidjikja, Tichit and Walatah either because of their unique architecture, old mosque or natural landscapes.
What about you?
These are just few examples of the worst tournament in modern football the AFCON is turning up to be. So far the matches have been some of the most disappointing in terms of organization and gameplay. This shows that African football still lags far behind the rest of the world. I truly hope that the future will be better for the continent.
I'm thinking of travelling there and would love to hear from people who've done it and learn of their experiences the good and the bad.
Desert sands are endangering homes and agricultural areas in Mauritania. Residents are erecting a “Great Green Wall” in an attempt to prevent the sands’ progress. The goal of the initiative, which began in 2007, is to build a green wall over the Sahel region. The absence of rain is one of the issues.
