A list of puns related to "Magic Set"
TLDR: I made a custom Magic the Gathering set for every champion in League of Legends and would love for you to check them out!

The story:
I've been playing Magic the Gathering for 11+ years and League for 8+ years. They've both been a huge part of my life. So when it was initially revealed that there was going to be a Secret Lair for Arcane, my friends and I were super excited because we though we were gonna see Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, and crew as Magic Cards. As both long time MTG and League fans, we were a bit disappointed when this didn't happen. So initially we decided we were going to make a few for fun ourselves, but eventually I decided to just do ALL of them. Because why not?
With the help my incredible friend/RND department (aka making sure my ideas weren't so off the walls broken), I created each of them and mocked them up as actual cards. There's gonna be a few mistakes (like the backside of Shyvana having the wrong card number) but we tried to make them as text accurate and as realistically plausible as we could.
I tried to use a varied mix of lore, in game abilities, and character personality when creating them, so not everything is gonna be a perfect match that covers every aspect of the character. We also wanted to make sure there was a decent spread of colors (the initial drafting had WAY too many grixis characters) And of course my interpretations are not going to be the same as yours, so if they don't quite fit your fancy, I encourage you to try it and make your own! They were also all designed with Commander in mind, so if your playgroup is cool with it, I would love to see the types of decks you come up with them!
I used a lot of fan art in the process and tried to credit them in the artist slot, however if there are any corrections that need to be made, or if you are the artist and don't want it used this way, please let me know ASAP and I will fix it as soon as I can. And make sure to go give the Artist kudos if you really liked there work!
PS: I know Zeri(?) is coming out soon and I do plan on making a card for her as well, but i want all her lore to be out as well to get a better idea of her personality before I tackle it.
The year is almost over and it was a big year for Magic the Gathering with a lot of different new sets released. I am curious to hear the r/MagicTCG community's perspective on this question:
Which Magic set or product released this year (2021) did you enjoy the most? What made the set/product enjoyable for you?
Note: I won't list everything that was released this year but as a refresher, here are some of the primary high profile releases in Magic this year (feel free to name a set/product that isn't listed below):
Imagine someone's only experience with magic the gathering would be from a set of cards you put together, what cards do you think should be in it?
Some ideas:
Cards that represent well a part of the game you enjoy
Cards that are well designed and provide fun/interesting gameplay
Cards you think magic wouldn't be the same without
Some rules:
No custom cards, all reprints.
For the sake of discussion the secondary market will never form and all cards will be equally available.
The protagonist is a young man who is fighting invisible demon type creatures in london. I am referring to the second book in a series which references him having to kill his tutor in the first book. I didnβt read the first book. The magic system was different - where he recited rules and policies of London to create magic - βmind the gapβ, βkeep off the grassβ but also long whole paragraphs of things like that.
He didnβt have much help, there werenβt too many other characters. He travels on the underground a lot.
I read this possibly in 2007 or so when I was 15. It was a standard size paperback book about 1 inch of pages, so not too long. I would like to read the full series, but canβt remember much else about the book!

For a lot of other board/card games, you're still frequently able to buy the base game even as new expansions come out.
Magic, like other trading card games, won't often keep printing sets for more than a year or two, ceasing production and moving on to the next one. You can still play with those old cards, they just won't print them any more.
Thus the question: If there was a base set/block that was always available, that was always in print, that was people's first introduction to Magic, which would you pick? Or do you think an amalgamation of cards would be better?
Caveat to the question: This isn't about "constant standard legality", this is about considering Magic like one would other board/card games, where you can just buy "Catan" or "Monopoly" and have everything in-box but if you want more you can get "Catan: More Ocean" expansion, rather than how Magic currently works and they'd come out with a new Catan every other year with new tiles to "shake up the meta" and you're not allowed to play with your previous game any more.
A large target (>$100M) for the fund would provide several benefits to Monero:
I hope whoever joins the committee has a long term framework in mind!

Hello!
I've been working as a runner in a camera kitroom for the past few months, which is really my first real experience of using cameras in a professional setting. (I used to do videography odd jobs using a Nikon D750 DSLR, but beyond that nothing). I've gotten to learn how to build cameras at all different levels, from the Alexa Mini LF down to an A7SIII. At weekends - with my bosses' blessing - I've gotten to come in and test cameras on my own and shoot little scenes and lighting setups in our infinity cove, and I'm getting more confident with using cameras and self-shooting as a result.
I'm going to be leaving my kitroom to pursue freelance self-shooting videography and producing my own fictional short films in February, and will be purchasing a camera and lenses to support myself in this endeavour. I've landed on the BlackMagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K due to its affordability, portability, support for Gen5 Color Science and ability to shoot in either BlackMagic RAW (for my own shorts, to be entered into festivals) or ProRes 422 without an external recorder (for low-budget commercial work intended to be viewed on phones or social media).
I'm now looking into which lenses I should pick up to go with my camera, but am finding it a little bit of a minefield. I'm obviously going to consult some of the more senior DoPs in my kitroom about this, but I thought I'd open it up to this sub while we're off on our holiday break. There seem to be an awful lot of conflicting views across the internet, so I thought I'd narrow it down with some specific criteria for what I'm after:
Purposes
I'm looking to spend $2000-3000 on a set of lenses. I'm interested in versatility - as I stated I'd like to be shooting run-and-gun low-budget commercial work, branded content etc. with simple lighting setups or natural light, but also plan on making my own fictional short films with small budgets (<$2000) with crew and hired lighting.
Experience
I'm young - not massively experienced, but as stated have been using the facilities around me to experiment with lighting setups every week in my own time. I'd like to say I probably have the same experience with camera and lighting as someone at a decent film school (of course, I'm slightly separated from that world so no disrespect to anyone from there). One thing I am very new to is grading, but I'm planning on taking some short weekend courses in DaVinci Resolve and start exp
... keep reading on reddit β‘Iβve got LivePhish + for another month, and Iβve listened to most of the 2nd set stuff from this past year.
But I recently found the Simple-> Waiting All Night from 10/24, and although glancing at the set and time stamp isnβt anything special, it has to be a highlight for the whole year!
Are there any other 1st set songs, jams, or segues from the last year that are just special? Or even 2.0, 3.0 in general?
50% effectiveness penalty is applied on the bonus brought by the runeword not the base
Iβve always pondered with the concept because 1.10 runewords destroyed the whole itemization of the game, but instead of nerfing Rw or buffing non-rw, I wondered about just not making them in competition but rather potential symbiosis
Some I thought would be fun:
leaf in a +6enchant staff
steel in Ik maul
passion in a Griswold cadeuce
splendor in a +2 nec +3psn nova head
Curious to hear your ideas And while we are at it, do you think it would be OP or sucks? (No matter what %penalty is applied )

I know there are some basic options on accessibility, but I'd REALLY like to set "~" key as the ESC key (depending on the running app), or create custom shortcuts (like with macbook keyboard shortcuts). Is there any reason why that's not easily available, and what about external apps/extensions?
Definitely not an HP shitpost.
I read this in the US probably between the ages of 7-9, so likely between 1992-1994ish.
No idea about the reading level as by that point I was into all manner of beyond high school reading, but I suspect it was for kids or YA based on the print layout (not squished together) and the cover (softcover with attractive colours, like bright blue? I think that 90s style of photo cutouts maybe?)
Ironically while I've always been absolutely convinced it involved magic, looking back I can't remember that specifically. Just silly little details:
I suspect this was a reprint, as you might guess. My copy of the book was destroyed before I could finish it & I've always wanted to find it again.
If anyone has any guesses based upon this extremely vague memory, I will be very grateful!
