Just purchased a Logwood 2421 for temporary use (heating a mobile home with no utility connections during a winter renovation in a cold climate). The manual suggests a "Floor Protector Material (R value = 2.0) Minimum of 36x54 inches". Any suggestions for an inexpensive but safe solution?
Would fire bricks potentially be a good choice? I'm planning to get an outdoor wood boiler in the future, and was thinking I could potentially reuse the fire bricks in that application so they wouldn't be a sunk cost. (I'll be reselling the wood stove when the trailer renovation is done as it's not a suitable permanent solution in this specific case, and this stove isn't rated for trailer use.)
Does anybody know if it's possible to buy logwood (Haematoxylon campechianum)? I can only find log wood chips (it's mostly used to make dyes).
Just wondering if anyone has any safety information on toxicity for babies and using logwood, or any natural dyes for that matter.

Does anyone here have any experience dyeing their hair with logwood? I've been trying to go a little bit more natural with my lifestyle, but I can't give up my unnatural hair color! Logwood is a purple plant based textile dye, but I can't find anything about anyone using it as a hair dye.
I dyed linen and cotton skeins using gallnut and myrobalan as the tannin and aluminum acetate as the mordant. I soaked the logwood chips overnight and reheated them in the morning before straining and adding the skeins. I kept them on the heat around 170-180 F for an hour. They all came out the same muddy purple. Not the clear bright color I was hoping for. Any ideas why the logwood is muddy or brownish.? I thought I’d test the pH of the water, perhaps it’s too acidic. If I were to add some soda ash, what percentage should I start with?

What happened to me was that the recipe required logWood(spelled so) which I could not find in worldgen. I managed to get an op to spawn me in some but it didn't work. As I looked at the lecturn I noticed the spinning representation of the recipe item required looked nothing like logWood. If anything it looked like witchwood, hopseed, or eucalyptus wood. Has anyone else come across this problem and what was your solution of any? Thanks,
