A list of puns related to "Lackland"
What should I know about the base? Is base housing pretty okay?
I just got my hair cut at the barber shop at a mini-mall, and I couldβve gotten a better haircut from a blind paraplegic toddler and saved myself $14.50
Me and the wife drove through here to check it out and holy hell is it horrible. Siding all falling off, wood rotted all over the houses, haven't been painted since the 1980's. It looked like driving through a poor neighborhood full of section 8 housing. Just missing the stray pitbulls and crack dealers. Seriously shameful, thinking of taking pics and emailing to local congress because this is ridiculous. We'll be staying off base, thank you.
Title- Tommen Lackland: A ISOT
Author- Viking25
Length- 12k words and 11 chapters
Category- Historical person isoted into sharing the mind of Tommen Baratheon
Status- on-going

Summary- King John appears in the mind of Tommen after the dead of Jof, could help the boy be the king Westeros needs?
The story is fun, the author uses meta jokes of how Westeros is just insane all the time, compared with the real world Middle Ages via John. (Like how is possible that Kings Landing has 500.000 souls? or how is possible that no noble actually believe in God?). However, the REAL reason I recommended is just that it avoids the greatest pitfall of all SIs...
Centralized Authority=*Good governing, that if just me was the one with all power it would be ok. John sees how the lack of city councils and the weakness of the not pope has disastrous consequence and contemplates how, despite liking the idea of Tommen/Him ruling with such liberties to his powers, it is necessary to have these institutions. If you don't, you may find yourself with a city of the size of Constantinople that has no apparent government but the Small Council and the city guard.

I am PCS'ing to lackland in april. I am a single 21 year old guy, and wondering where I should live? I heard downtown is nice but expensive. But it is close to what most 21 year old's care about. Anyone have any suggestions? Also any tips for being at lackland?
My house on the Northwest side is directly under a flight approach path into Lackland about 10 miles out and since last week Iβve been hearing and finally saw yesterday while mowing the lawn the new commotion makers. F-35s have started flying over joining the usual C5s, F-16s, T-38s, etc..
I guess they are starting up a training program or performing training exercises for them here recently? Yesterday and this afternoon had a couple fly over in formation with gear down ripping the sky apart. They hit the ears way different than the tame F-16s in comparison. I donβt mind it at all and do enjoy watching and hearing βmyβ (taxes!) planes fly over. Just curious if anyone knows whatβs up.
So, like many others, we went this route for getting our animals here. Overall I'm happy with it, but I'm in finance and I'm honestly so pissed about people like my husband getting f***ed a nickel and dime at a time, I want to claim every penny we can on this PCS.
Being FM minded, I tried to do what was cheapest. We have a big dog, two cats, and we're a family of 5. We had a van waiting in San Antonio from MAS. So we rented a huge van in Houston, took the animals to a boarding facility in Houston, we stayed the night, and the next morning, took the rental and a bunch of luggage to San Antonio to drop it off with a friend and pick up our POV. We then returned the rental, stayed the night again, then picked up our animals and went to San Antonio to stay. To clarify, there is NO WAY all of us (luggage and animals) could have fit in any vehicle one in one trip.
We are way under the constructed cost, by thousands. But of course, they won't pay for the rental, and will only pay MALT at a whopping 16 cents. Fine. But, shouldn't they pay all three legs? I mean, it's still under the limit, and circuitous was approved. It was necessary to get all of us from Houston to San Antonio. I put it in the voucher... Should I add in the remarks that the round trip was necessary to transport all the things?
One last note, has anyone tried submitting straight to DFAS? How'd it go? I was on their site and noticed that was an option...
To clarify: our original intent was to claim the rental car as the ONLY expense for getting from Houston to San Antonio and eat the rest of the cost. The only reason we're doing this now is because they won't pay the rental at all and will only pay MALT mileage.
Simply is their anyone here assignment to the reserve comm or cyber unit? I'm trying to connect t with some folks on in processing through reserve.
I was just thinking how much tougher it would be to get through BMT while that was going on, and am aware of reports that this year is projected to be yet another deep freeze.
Can anyone who made it through BMT during that time relate what it was like? Or anyone working on the base in general? I've read reports of base housing having the same broken pipes and standard issues that were going around, but what did the base proper do to respond? How was training affected? I'm almost convinced it would be better to wait to enlist till early next year, just so the 2-6 month standard wait for shipping out doesn't coincide with January-February. Thank you!
I'm stationed at Randolph. Got scheduled for a test at Lackland...on Monday at 0600. Forgot to confirm where reporting takes place. If I recall, the FAC is @ the War Hawk Gym and the running track is next to the Shoppette. Can anyone help my dumb ass? Where do I go...
I know it's hot there but the conclusion I'm getting is the work and city is not bad at all?
I'll be going as an A shred out.
My nephew graduates tomorrow am from BMT. I have seen that the Airmenβs run is live streamed on Facebook the night before graduation but not sure what time it starts. Any info? Here is the recording from last Wednesday but it doesnβt say when it starts. Thanks!

My daughter was supposed to be home today until late November, but her leave was deferred. Her birthday is 10/26. Iβm looking to have a cake or a pecan pie made and delivered. She loves pecan pie, but who says no to cake? Either wayβ¦ can anyone recommend a local shop or home chef looking for some extra dough? (See what I did there). Thanks in Advance. Someone willing to send me pics or a video would be a bonus.
Stay safe, avoid the area. Everyone on base on lock down.
Space force kicking me out of here, gotta pick from a shitty list.
So if you had to pick between the 3 what would you go for? (3D btw)
edit: my bad, should've known lackland would win. if you had to stack them 1.lackand 2. ?? 3. ??
edited'd edit x2 the sequel: Here's hoping I get lackland then, thanks everyone.
Wow. Best experience I've ever had with FAC staff by far. Professional but super positive and motivating. Keep it up guys!
Hi,
I'm visiting for my husband's graduation at Lackland. He has a day pass the day he graduates and we'll be going downtown. I'll be flying into the airport and staying near Lackland, as well. Would any locals have any insight to whether you'd recommend renting a car or would it be okay to just uber/lyft around?
Do you have to press the button for retreat/national anthem/taps?
Cuz you just played the national anthem...at 2100...
I'll be traveling to Lackland AFB in San Antonio TX for some training. I'm wondering if anyone knows any good schools I could train at while I'm there. This will also be my first time attending a diffrent school, so any advice on what I should do or expect would be much appreciated!
I might swap my Lackland AFB assignment for Ft. Meade. I am a 1N4A. What are the pros and cons to each base career wise and local area.
Hi i got notified for an assignment to 318 range squadron at lackland but i havent had anyone reach out to me as a sponsor, and when i try to look up contact information i cant find any. If anyone knows of someone in the unit or a good contact number id appreciate it!
The last time i asked on here i was told not today isis lol.
Am I blind or are there no speed limit signs when leaving out Luke gate? I only ask because at 615 this morning after dropping my kid at the CDC I was leaving going no over 15mph and a nice gentleman checking IDs in the inbound lane stopped the car in front of me, me, and for sure the car behind me and felt the need to yell at me telling me the speed limit is 5mph and I need to pay attention. I apologized assuming I missed the speed limit sign. But when picking my kid up today I looked and didn't see anything when leaving base.
