A list of puns related to "King Saul"
A comment on this subreddit mentioned Ed Kang feared one day losing Godβs blessing on him, like King Saul. Here. I wasnβt in the audience to hear it myself, but anyone whoβs been at GP will say GP is a heavily top-down organization more so than any church ought to be. Ed Kang thinking he is in Godβs blessing reminds me of what Ed Kang wrote in 2006 in his Schism Letter about Becky Kim thinking of herself as an OT prophet. Truly if Ed Kang thinks of himself as being blessed and having favor of God in what he is doing and the senior leadership agrees with him, then everything we are doing here is against God. One of the moderators who was on college staff was harshly rebuked for questioning one aspect of the church. Her leader would certainly feel justified to rebuke her that way if the leader believed questioning GP is insulting the Honor of God and gave that harsh rebuke. Here. This view of Ed Kang being blessed by God would also explain why βEd Kangβ and βKelly Kangβ came before Gracepoint in the Google SEO manipulation email that was sent out. Here.
I want to point out King Saul was never what God wanted. In fact, the entire 1 Samuel 8 was about the fallenness of leaders. Samuel was blind, as much as he is of God, by installing his two corrupt sons as judges of Israel using his power as a judge also. You would think Samuel would know better since he was the one tapped by God to tell Eli how blind Eli was with regards to Eliβs two corrupt sons who brought down such wrath on Israel. King Saul, King David, King Solomon all had their major failures. If there ever was a point about King Saul, itβs we should desire Jesus Christ to be our leader, not some human being.

βWhen Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel. The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. Yet his sons did not w

The way I see it, there can only be three options:
Saul was never saved. Picked by God, enjoyed blessings of God, but ultimately not chosen by God.
Saul was saved. And all his sin and disobedience could not remove Godβs love for him even unto a suicidal death.
Saul was chosen but lost his salvation when his heart was hardened and refused to carry out the Lordβs instructions.
Iβm more inclined to say itβs the first one, but Iβd really appreciate some insight. Any thoughts on this story?
The story is told with a heavy bias towards David, and we already know what kind of person he is, sending a man to be killed while he took his wife. Perhaps thatβs just a time when David got caught, as opposed to maybe getting away with this.

This BoxRec cruising links back to my original BoxRec cruising post of Eddy Salvatierra, the incredible shrinking man. He fought Farah twice and at 11-0-1 and 12-1 he was one of the better records Farah faced since 2016. To put it in context Farah was 56-19-3 in the first fight and 57-20-3 in the second fight.
Farah had 78 career fights while Salvatierra had 12. The 66 fight difference isn't even close to the widest margin that Farah has had in his career. If you remove the fights that he takes to lose and get paid, which are many, his record is crazy.
In fight number 98 for Farah he fought 0-6-1 Cesar Mamani in 2019. This was actually the fourth time that he fought Mamani. He was 68-23-3 when he fought 0-5-1 Mamani also in 2019, was 66-23-3 when he fought 0-3-1 Mamani also in 2018 , and was 64-22-3 when he faced 0-1 Mamani in 2017.
The fight fight was the 90th fight for Farah and the second for Mamani. Just a casual 88 fight difference between them. This is the largest fight difference on his record. The third fight between 66-23-3 Farah and 0-3-1 Mamani was for the Bolivian Heavyweight Title.
His record is littered with absurd mismatches like this. The last 10 men he beat came in a COMBINED 13-41-3. He fought 5 fighters with 0 wins, two fighters with 1 win, two fighters with 2 wins, and one fighter that was a tough 7-4. Farah had no less than 73 fights in any of those wins.
His best wins have come against fellow mismatch fighter Esteban Hillman Tababary. Farah beat him three times in a four fight in 2015 and 2016. Tababary was 23-13-2, 25-14-2, and 25-15-2, in those three fights. As far as Farah wins go Tababary is the most accomplished fighter he has ever beaten.
The Mismatch King has held the interim World Boxing Council Latino Heavy Title, WBC interim South American Heavyweight Title, Beni State Heavyweight Title, Santa Ana del Yacuma City Heavyweight Title, Bolivian Heavyweight Title, Santa Cruz de la Sierra State Heavyweight Title, and Bolivian Cruiserweight Title.
He made 12 defenses of the Bolivian Heavyweight Title over multiple spans. Farah won the title against a winless fighter when he was 25-10-1. Outside of defenses against 14-5-1 Juan Carlos Flores Choque and 25-14-2 Tababary he only made one defense against a fighter with more than two wins.
There is so much to digest on his record I sugge
... keep reading on reddit β‘According to the Old Testament, Saul of the Benjamin Clam was a handsome, charismatic young man who was annointed/chosen by God to lead as the first King of the Israelites to a new age of Peace from the invading, violent Philistine conquerors. He was a daring military leader, yet he proved to be unstable, subejct to deep bouts of depression, impetuous violence and repeated ''violations of religious laws''. Saul would fall incrementally closer to tyranny, cruelty, but nonetheless a wise and effective in his methods. Soon he became mad with power. God, displeased with his chosen one, annointed a second, David (who slayed Goliath). David, born a humble Shepherd would lead a daring band of righteous men, fight injustice, become a leader in his own right. He would slay Goliath and become a Legend amongst the people of Israel. Once Saul died, David became the new King of the Israelites, God's annointed, nay, God's Chosen One. Sounds familiar?

Who would win when trying to convince someone to do something? Saul Goodman is known for being a criminal lawyer and talking his way out of many dangerous scenarios. A drug dealer was set on killing two people in the middle of the desert, but Saul talked him down to breaking one leg each. Saul successfully hid the two biggest meth cooks in America for around 2 years, and one of them successfully fled to Alaska to live a peaceful life, this was because of Saul's connections. Saul's story is still ongoing and he's currently hiding out under a pseudonym.
King Schultz talked his way out of getting shot on many different occasions. He was able to talk an entire armed angry town down and he got out alive with Django. The only reason he died in the movie because he liked to be in control of situations, and getting out alive would've hurt his pride.
Weapon knowledge wise and strength wise Schultz would win easily, but who's the better talker?
Who's the better convincer/persuader?
Iβm in the process of reading the Jewish Study Bible cover to cover, while also watching the Yale Open Course by Prof. Hayes. There are so many fascinating stories I missed in Sunday School. I just read about Saulβs death. His entire life story struck a chord with me. Iβm interested in reading scholarly studies about Saul and was hoping for suggestions. For example, the Yale course mentions this article: Levinson, Deirdre. βThe Psychopathology of King Saul.β If possible, could someone please share a copy of the Levinson article? I couldnβt find a complete copy available on the internet. Other similar articles you would recommend would also be much appreciated. TYIA!
