A list of puns related to "Katimavik"
I'm hearing what sounds like fireworks or rifle fire in the Katimavik area, any ideas what's going on? Wrong time of day (10am) for fireworks...
Hi everyone! I will be participating in the January-June 2021 cohort of Katimavik (anyone else here going?). When I first heard about this opportunity, I was really excited about travelling, seeing the country, meeting new people, and all that. I applied thinking that covid would be over soon but now it's almost January and the situation looks to be getting worse. My parents are apprehensive of me going and I'm not sure if I should go ahead with it, especially considering that I'm going to a province that's been hit hardest by covid. I've been going out minimally all quarantine and now, all of a sudden, I'm going to do the complete opposite of that and be in close contact with 11 other participants and whoever works at their volunteer placements. Another one of my concerns (obviously, besides getting sick) is that I wouldn't be able to immerse myself in my placement city, like if I have a block of free time, I wouldn't be able to go out exploring. I don't know if would have time for that, but I would like the option to do that. So if you participated during covid times, what was your experience like? Did you think the Katimavik organizers provided adequate support? What kind of volunteer placement did you do and did people follow covid guidelines there? Did you find that covid dampened your experience or strengthened your bonds? Any advice for fools such as myself?
How is the money raised by each participant/volunteer tracked? i.e. how does a participant know they've reached $1000
Hello! Anyone out there? I'm wondering if anybody has experiences with both the Odyssey and Katimavik programs. Katimavik sounds like a really amazing experience - but Odyssey is paid, lasts longer, and would really allow me to boost my French. I just turned 24 a couple of days ago so I'm running out of time to do Katimavik!
How was the French immersion part? Would you recommend one program over the other? I'll appreciate any insight!
Hello. Myself, along with 10 other youth from across Canada have arrived in the city to volunteer at various places around the city. We'll be here for the next 3 months before we pass the torch to another set of volunteers. If you wish to learn more, feel free to ask question in the comments, or read the program's website. Having been here a week, I already feel super welcomed, dispite lacking fluency in french. (Sorry).
Iโve been thinking about doing Katimavik, my brother did it in 2008/9, does anyone have thoughts on it (experiences, what type of stuff you do, etc)?
Trudeau is an old Katimavik PL, and he went into that boxing match with Brazeau wearing a temporary tat of the Katimavik symbol on his shoulder. Now that he's in, do you guys think there's a chance that Katimavik will get funding again?
I just wanted to know your take on the experience. Where did you go? How was your group?
Hello!! Anybody here? Very inactive sub but Iโm so excited to get started!
Would any of the current successful volunteers know what is needed (skills/experience) to be considered and a successful applicant for Katimavik? Other than the age requirement it's hard to tell who would be successful in applying.
Thank you
