A list of puns related to "Hyperhidrosis"
A very gooood morning / afternoon / evening / night all!
Well, what a couple of weeks it has been! Again, allow me to voice my apologies for not being around lately. To keep it short and sweet, it has been a combination of long hours at work and a rather life-changing medical diagnosis of a family member that has kept me out of action. I shall leave it there :P
So, how have you all been? Looking over our recent posts, it certainly looks like things are really moving! Plenty of posts, and plenty of people making replies. I can also see a couple of links as well, which is nice to see! I can also see that things have now settled back down after the AMA event, so our traffic is now pretty steady at just over 1000 unique viewers a month.
So, back to the old grind eh? Keep it up! :P
I'm keeping it short and sweet this week!
So, one thing I have noticed looking at the recent posts is there is a distinct lack of, well, fun. Now, obviously with hyperhidrosis there isn't much about it that is fun, aside from pulling out the ancient "Tome o' Hyperhidrosis puns" from the cupboard and reading off a couple!
So, this week, I'd like you all to share here on this thread something that has made you smile or laugh recently. A video, a joke, something someone has done, anything at all. Lets fart about a bit and enjoy ourselves. :P
Obviously, keep to the NSFW stuff to a minimum if possible. A little bit of foul language here or there is fine, but you know, be sensible. :P
Regards,
Baggy - Your Sweaty Mod.
So I have incredibly debilitating hyperhidrosis and heightened metabolism... Does anyone else suffer from this..?
Edit: I kind of forgot to put up an explanation, I had just woken up, so... I have excessive localized sweating in (order of worse to uhhh, most manageable) my hands, feet, and armpits. I am unmedicated and sweating my palms and feet off everyday even though the temperature is pretty fine where I live. I have a doctors appointment next week. Please share your experiences here if you relate! :)
here's how to feet look... it's 18 dregees c..(64 fahrenheit) hands are the same, or actually worse, literally dripping.
im 17 from the uk, and yesterday i had a job interview and it was AWFUL. the manager SHOOK MY HAND which made me want to die (and wiped her hand on her trousers after), i was shaking and anxious, and everyone was staring at me. i just wanted to curl up into a ball and die. they havent called back so i definitley did not get the job. i have generalised hh, so i sweat everywhere 24/7 every single day. normal people do not know how lucky they are. i have finished school so i was planning to have fun all summer, but i know its unlikely as i'll cancel plans due to my sweating. i cant even wear t shirts outside, or light colours. it breaks my heart to know that this is how it'll be for as long as i live- and im not planning on staying here for longer if it continues like this. all of the things i love to do and im good at, i cannot do due to my condition. it has caused me depression and anxiety which makes it worse. i feel like im a disgusting freak. i've tried pretty much every anti perspirant there is (it made it worse) and i've been to the doctors who didnt take it seriously. i want to go back and ask for medication. i want to try dermadry but its too expensive. i've even tried to manifest it to go away. im sick of being limited to opportunities, i feel like im going to waste my youth and the rest of my life because of it.
Hey guys I wanted to ask all of you to help and bring ideas on how to spread more awareness so that future generations can have it easier with better treatments and maybe even a cure as probably the biggest collective group of HH sufferers we have the best chance of spreading awareness Ive noticed a lot of videos on TikTok going viral talking about HH which is a good thing. Please comment your ideas on how to spread more awareness
*For people with Palmar Hyperhidrosis or Hyperhidrosis that affects their hands*
I'm currently studying UX Design in Melbourne; which is the study of the usability of a product both analog and digital. I've been asked to do a personal research project on a chosen product that I feel needs to be designed better. With Palmar Hyperhidrosis; it's easy to see how some of the most mundane tasks can become an obstacle, but in order for my research to be broad and serve the larger P.H. community, I want to hear from all of you!
I want to conduct a brief online interview with you on your personal experiences dealing with Palmar Hyperhidrosis. We can chat about topics such as opening jars, working touch screens, writing on paper, wearing gloves, even the social stigma surrounding sweat. As someone who is also a statistic, I can empathize; however it would be helpful to gather information from a broad range of people.
Hoping some kind strangers would raise their hand and we can create a nice discussion. We'll be able to connect on Zoom after having a chat. The interview will be confidential, of course.
Cheers,Flynn.
It's not from meth use. I've had severe HH on my palms, face, and arm pits as long as I can remember existing. I don't mean a little clammy and gross, I mean visibly dripping from multiple areas of my body for maybe 90% of the time I'm awake and conscious. 10Β°f outside? Still sweating. Abstain from caffeine and amph? Still sweating. Completely isolate yourself from all your peers to escape social anxieties? Still fucking sweating.
Been 24 rough fuckin years, not to throw myself a pity party or anything. Just sendin y'all sweat benders some love and support. π
Hey,
I'm 23 years old, male, living in a medeterrerian country, the weather here kills me.
It's usually 29-32 C degrees here, with 60-80% humidity.
In addition to this, I'm suffering from hyperhidrosis for about 1.5 years (never had issues like this before). There were some mental triggers for me 1.5 years ago (discovered I suffer from Hidradenitis and Keratoconus - had some mental breakdowns, depression, anxiety, and since then I started to sweat like hell - which right now makes me feel even more anxious, especially in society, to the point I try to avoid social gatherings, dating, etc...).
Even the recent winter, I found myself sweating after taking hot showers. One time during Januray my friend invited me to his house and more people were there, and I rememeber that I came there and started to sweat (I think it's both anxiety and excessive sweat), I felt so ashamed - and this is my reality when meeting people for the past year or so. When it happens I feel anxious - I feel disconnected, racing with my own thoughts in my head. I can't really feel any joy in social gatherings anymore due to this condition.
I know you guys are not doctors, sure thing I must see one, and probably a psychologist too - and it will happen soon enough... But the problem with them is that they do not suffer from this problem. So they don't really feel your pain and suffering, and this is why I would like to here from you first.
In my head, if I'm able to 'fix' the excessive sweat, I will feel an instant mental relief which will help me to actually live my life in less fear and generally be more happy.
Because I sweat all over my body - hands (started recently), my ass and crotch sweat really bad especially when sitting , thighs, forehead, cheeks, back, stomach, NOT in my armpits - I can't really inject botox. Surgery may be a bad decision from what I've read here. The only solution I see is taking pills... But still, this makes me anxious as hell because it means I will have to take them for the rest of my life, and there will be side effects.
I can't really see myself living my life in such a condition, mentally I'm not strong enough to live with it.. So I have to take action before it will be too late.
Would like to hear from people that are taking pills to deal with this shitty condition.
Thanks in advance!
I'm new to this sub but I was hoping I could get some answers from others instead of trying to self diagnose. For the longest time, I've absolutely despised the summer. The primary reason for that is because I am constantly, constantly sweating. Both indoors and outdoors. Even with an air conditioner and a fan I always manage to sweat profusely. It's gotten to a point where no matter where I go or what I do I'm constantly sweating. Not only is it the frequency but it's also a matter of how much I sweat. My friends constantly tell me I look like I'm on the verge of having a heat stroke and that i just got out of a pool. It drenched my grad gown and it looks really bad whenever I wear anything that isn't black. How do I know if I actually have hyperhidrosis? Are there definite signs that point to it or am I just a really bad sweater? Is there anything I can do to stop or reduce the sweating?
Edit: I should probably state that this isn't just a summer problem but a constant thing. It's just significantly worse during the summer.
Hey guys so I have touched on this a while back but I'm back here again. I have also skimmed on this topic on my most recent video that I will link the channel here as well. So basically, I have changed my thinking of hyperhidrosis from looking at it as a barrier to success to seeing it as a unique trait that many of us share. I have also started to say Yes to more opportunities and going out and adventures rather than make excuses and blame my hyperhydrosis. This in return has significantly improved my mental health and social life ( somewhat). Regarding the channel I am wanting to show more day in the life videos and more about myself rather than be a Debbie downer showing only the negative side of having this skin condition. Please check out my channel if yall are lost on how to manage your hyperhidrosis and or need help with set up of iontophoresis and all. I have the entire channel linked here for easy access. Do yall have any suggestions on my YouTube channel content and or thought or opinions?
Dear Hyperhidrosis friends,
I need your advise.. My hyperhidrosis only appears very hard in general when its hot outside so it feels like my complete body overheats constantly. If there are more than 25 Β°C / 77Β°F outside with sun I cant even walk 5 minutes outside without sweating my ass of, mostly upper body, back and face. Its crazy And so uncomfortable.
When I go work the lunch break outside is like a torture, my body wont calm down and sweat so much just when I Walk a short way to the Restaurant and eat. Its like my body starts a super turbo because of the outdoor heat.. He just cant manage it.
I absolutely cant enjoy summer. And as soon as its getting colder outside, my life is nearly normal..
I tryed vagantin and a little oxybutinin but I felt nearly small or no improvement..
I do a lot of sports and I try to eat healthy all the time.
Does anyone have the same problem? Are there ways to get better in heat balance? Where could that come from? I have had it for many years. Actually I check if there are probably any heart specific issues..
What do you think?
I am grateful for every Information and hint.
I have struggled with moderate to severe auxiliary hyperhidrosis since puberty. As we all know, thinking about it and the anxiety of sweating makes it 10x worse. Well a year and a half ago I had a conversation with my parents and they purchased me a dermadry machine. Well it worked so well for me. So much so I stopped doing it. I have no touched that machine in a year. However there has been such a strong mental aspect to knowing that there IS a solution if I put in the time, that it has taken away the anxiety around hyperhidrosis . It has made me feel like I am in control, and that has been enough for my sweating to be so minimal for the past year I donβt even feel compelled to treat the sweating I still have. I am a huge believer that figuring out the mental aspect of this disorder is SO MUCH MORE helpful than any physical things you can do. Anxiety around sweating is our worst enemy.
TLDR: once you take control over how you feel about hyperhidrosis (regardless if youβve found a physical treatment that works) the anxiety stops controlling you, and the hyperhidrosis gets better.
Do you notice that you sweat is non-bilateral for example one hand is far sweatier than the other

The temperatures are increasing where I live (~30Β°C/86 Β°F) and I'm sweating way easier, even by walking outside.
I'm not sure I suffer from hyperhidrosis because my hands stay pretty dry, and up to 27/28Β°C 80/82 Β°F I am mostly fine, but as soon as I do little activity or the temperature rises (/sudden change in temperature) it's really over, especially if I drink water. But even in that case, my hands are not sweaty.
Since sweaty hands appear to be the most common symptom, I wonder if someone else here has a similar manifestation to mine and maybe can give some insight. I'd really appreciate it, thanks.
Hey, I m 20 yo and I have hyperhidrosis, I sweat since I was 13-14? I wanted to know if you have tried surgery on your underarms and did it work? I m thinking that if I can stop my underarms sweating I can buy a iontophoresis machine to help with my feet because they sweat too...
my hands are not a massive problem
I'm sure this isn't a new question but I've looked everywhere and can't find anything.
Hi all, I'm new here but of course not a stranger to our condition. I would like to share my recent experience with regards to how hyperhidrosis affects my career. It feels good to know that I'm not alone even though I haven't seen any physicians complaining about what I'm about to lol...
So long story short from my teenage years I realized that my palms and feet sweat a lot for no reason but didn't make much of it mostly because I was under the impression that it is completely normal and everyone is like that to a degree. So years pass by I still don't care about it just the occasional wet and awkward handshake. And here I am now, recently graduated from medical school and working two jobs before I start my residency and beginning to struggle because my palms. I want to become a urologist and I work in a urology department at the moment. I now started to get really weighed down by this condition because of the ridiculous fact that I can't don gloves properly before operations 90% of the time. It's funny how I never thought that this would be a problem, BUT IT IS! Exactly because I thought that everyone has sweaty palms to a degree, it's frustrating to now realize that I have never seen a surgeon having problems putting on his damn gloves because of sweaty hands. OR nurses notice it too and I see how they think that I'm a nerve ball when in reality it's not like that. Of course it's not really a big deal because I can put them on somehow and then fix them up but it takes like 1-2 minutes and it feels like eternity with everyone in the OR looking at you and wondering "wtf is wrong with this guy". But this is the time that I'm supposed to make good impressions on my future bosses and this is just one more thing I have to worry about, as if doing surgery is a walk in the park already...Just to clarify we do scrub in for most surgeries but even for the minute between drying my hands with a towel and the nurse donning my gloves my palms are already wet enough to cause problems. Not to mention that for some procedures we do not actually scrub in we just put on the sterile gloves and GO! Not me though, I need my good 3-4 minutes of fighting the gloves and then I can go ahead and operate. Just a nightmare...
So just to share with you what I'm doing to try and get some relief. Aluminium salt solutions didn't seem to help. I'm on day 6 of Antihydral and I start to see some good results with it. My hands still perspirate but I feel like the sweat is quickly absorbe

Hello everyone!
I have been compiling a /r/Hyperhidrosis Wiki/Survival Guide with the help of a bunch of other users as a place that everyone can go to to find all the information they need in a quick and organised fashion. I believe this would be especially helpful for newcomers so that they can quickly find answers to their questions and see that they have found people like them!
We currently have a 3 page Google Document that many users have contributed to so far and I would like to take suggestions and stories from your own experience so that I can edit them in. I think that our lived experience is often the most useful and important part of this sub as it is what allows us to help others, by showing them ways to make their condition more livable and moist importantly that they are not alone in this!

Wassup my fellow sweaty people, Iβve suffered from hyperhidrosis since my early adolescence, Iβm 25 now and itβs gotten worst as time goes on. Im from texas where we have humid weather and a blazing sun practically year round. Im bound to get some noticeable pit stains unless I maybe wear a thin inner shirt. Outdoors between 12-5pm is usually horrible and I start sweating from my pits and right above my abdomen 5-10 mins after being outside or in a hot car, even with being out in the evening Iβm sweating. Sometimes Iβm bound to sweat just sitting and playing games or studying. Nothing has ever worked for me some days I sweat profusely some days itβs moderate. I used a bunch of different deodorants but noticed that when Iβm high I donβt get the urge to sweat. I can sit in a car with the windows cracked in 95 degree weather and no drip from my head, abdomens pits. Itβs actually amazing, was just curious if any has had the same experience with weed? Iβve been a smoker for awhile and this has always been the something Iβve noticed.

(You can skip to the questions if you wanna skip the context)
Iβve been dealing with this excessive sweating for about 2 and half years now (Iβm 18yrs 11mths), and all this time Iβve just been trying my best to conceal it (wasting a whole load of tissues in the process) rather than try to get rid of it. And I have only just recently started researching about it.
AlhA my hyperhidrosis isnβt as severe as some of the peopleβs on here; I have it mainly on my armpits and sometimes forehead, chest and fingertips. The armpits are the main issue for me since it makes it difficult for me to do basic day-to-day things. I can literally just be chilling, doing nothing, and still be dripping buckets worth of sweat.
The chest, forehead and fingertips start sweating a lot (and they also get really hot) when I get nervous/anxious/scared or when exercising (but ig that may be considered normal). Oh yeah, I also have pretty bad social anxiety, so the nervous sweating problem is worse because of this. Social anxiety and excessive sweating, what a great combination to have
So yh, I still have no clue what is causing this excessive sweating and have no clue on how to treat it.
Should I try the prescription strength anti-perspirants that are available? If so, which ones are recommended/best?
What other products are there that would help with underarm sweating? And what is ionto?
Is there a recommended diet for people with Hyperhidrosis? Or some vitamins or supplements that helps?
would shaving my pits more regularly (like every other day) help with the sweating, or does hair not make a difference?
Is there anyone who has been able to actually get rid of their Hyperhidrosis?
I would appreciate literally any advice. I am completely lost
Hey guys have you heard about laser device such as Yag laser? A couple of cosmetic surgeon near me are offering the service. It's not that pricey and is a long term cure so it's sounds a bit too good to be true.
However when researching internet it's seems to be legit and most importantly safe ( no mention of compensatory sweating) sources like National library of medicine, ASLMS. Has anyone heard of tried?

Edit: I did some blood tests and i found out that my t3 is low but the others are normal ( t4 tsh) , they are in the normal range. My hiperhidrosis is making me sweat in my underarms, feet and between my legs, the sweating in my hands it s not noticeable, my hands are dry, they only sweat a bit when i work a bit in the sun maybe, and then i also sweat a bit from my head too but only when i m really hot in the sun working. I ve had this since I was ... 13 14? Both my parents have problems with their thyroids
I just bought DermaDry and used it Mon-Fri using it's maximum voltages for armpits feet and hands. Feet and armpits I will continue doing and have seen improvement with, hands however have developed an even worse issue.
I had 1 or 2 small blisters of those found with Dyshidrosis. After using the machine for a week they have now spread to quite a sizeable rash on my thumb and a few other fingers. I am worried that one or more of the following conditions are true:
If I remember correctly when I was younger and tried treating hyperhidrosis with topical ointments I had a breakout of dyshidrosis also. Has anyone experienced this? Here is what happens if you itch/pop the bumps and it spreads.

CT-Guided, Ethanol Sympatholysis for Primary Axillary-Palmar Hyperhidrosis This looks interesting. My primary hyperhidrosis was cured by surgery and was completely successful. But that was in 1986 and that type of has surgery proven very problematic for others.Hyperhidrosis dominated the first thirty three years of my life and I'm still obsessed with it! This Sympatholysis involves no cutting!
I know he has hyperhidrosis because he's told me and he gets super sweaty sometimes. Honestly no big deal.
However, I notice sometimes after spending the night there will be rust colored stains on the bed on his side. Then I'll also notice that he'll use wet wipes in the morning and throw them in the trash can and they are all rusty colored. (yes he does shower regularly) and the smell in the trash can is horrendous. And then I've also noticed a smell in my room from the sheets and the smell is pungent where the stains are. But like, when I'm cuddling with him... He doesn't really smell. When we are hanging out he doesn't really smell, it's just a very very faint version of that horrendous smell.
What could it be? I'm not sure he already knows and doesn't want to talk about it? Or maybe he doesn't know he has another condition. I should add he lost his sense of smell so I definitely know he can't smell himself.
I've googled Chromhidrosis but it doesn't quite match
I started sweating uncontrollably about 6 years ago and everyone thought I was just being dramatic. Turns out after I switched from breo to a different daily asthma inhaler about 2 months ago that my sweating completely went away. Now I sweat like everyone else around me. Just wanted to spread the news just in case anyone else is on breo and experiencing the same thing.
About a year ago I had no Sweating problems. All of a sudden my Armpits and Butt Sweat Constantly everyday With no exercise or nothing. Im not sure if its HH. Stress or Anxiety.
I shower 2 times a day with a rag, have tried clinical strength antiperspirant, different powders like goldbond and monkey butt, body lotions, natural deodorant like lemon juice + baking soda, make sure my clothes are washed clean with vinegar. I could care less about stains, but after a few hours of being out I smell like sweat that people around me can notice and it's ruined my life since puberty. I went to a doctor and the only useful advice she gave was drinking rosemary tea and eating a little bit of saffron everyday since I'm relatively healthy with diet and drinking a lot of water. The next step is a blood and urine test to see if I have overgrowth of bacteria. Has anyone else experienced this and have had good results?
Iβve always struggled with hyperhidrosis and have always sweat basically all day at varying levels. Iβve always been relatively active and as an adult (23yo) it doesnβt make me self conscious to sweat anymore. But as Iβve taken up yoga quite seriously - I am always slipping on my mat. Does anyone have any suggestions for yoga mats that you wonβt slide on? Iβve tried using towels and blankets but not enough stability. I tried my weight lifting gloves but they hurt my hands in between my fingers in different positions. Any advice? Tips? Products?
I sweat ALOT from my head, like, soaking through a hat if Iβm doing anything physical- as simple as walking. There are certainly times that I can be fairly active without sweating but itβs gotta be like 60F and Iβd be wearing shorts and a tshirt. Is this cranial hyperhidrosis or am I just a heavy sweater? Iβm overweight but not like... real obese. Iβm fairly active too- doing cardio or lifting 3-4 times a week.
