Around eleven months ago, I received a Hugo Boss fountain pen, pillar blue. Looked nice. I was anxious to use it.

After not quite a year, let me now say -- I HATE THIS PEN. Using the same ink that is so smyoooth in my Jotter, it's scratchy. It's uncomfortable to hold. And it might be my own fault, but after I clean and flush it, it leaves great globs of ink on the paper I'm writing on. My Jotter doesn't do that.
If I had it to do over, I would not get this pen.
Lately I've noticed Hugo Boss fountain pens. What is the general opinion on them?

TLDR: It's not the best deal in the known universe, but it's a reasonable (but distinctly lower-end) entry point for newbies. The pen is good in finishing, but has a very cheap nib. The notebook is quite reasonable for FP use.
So, TKMaxx might not be the first port of call for anybody shopping for a fountain pen, but it's not the worst place one could go, in all honesty. You're going to have to be willing to do a bit of research and analysis, as the people who make the listings for the website know basically nothing about what they're listing, you might be able to save a few bucks (sometimes quite a few bucks). Though precisely because they know nothing about what they're selling, and price things purely based on MSRP, sometimes things are priced too high. So tread carefully.
As a bonus of sorts for reading this, they currently have a Faber Castell Loom (Black/F) for £21 or so inc. shipping (£20 if you click and collect), which is quite competetive. It's a very good entry-level pen, and is worth having if you're starting out, or if you don't have a Faber Castell in your collection yet.

So, here's what you get for nineteen of your finest British pounds. First impressions are good-ish, it comes in the proper black Hugo Boss box (it's a black flat box with branding and a rubberised finish), and both the pen and notebook is in its own shrink wrap. But TKMaxx being TKMaxx, they've stuck a large inventory sticker on the box. At least it's easily removable.
The pen comes with a very generic blue ink cart inside, while the notebook is one with 160 pages of blank 100gsm paper in A6. Notebook marked as made in China, pen has no mark of origin, but is most certainly Chinese too.
The notebook is finished to a pretty good standard, and looks and feels of good quality. The paper inside is perfectly FP friendly, I'd say bleedthrough and feathering performance is similar to Clairfontaine 90gsm or Oxford Optic 90gsm. Which is to say, there's a bit of bleedthrough but you could write on both sides, and there's very little to no feathering with Diamine's writer's blood.

Our tour guide explained that one of the chambers of the hypostyle hall in Edfu temple contained hieroglyphics, detailing the recipes / ingredients for ancient perfumes.
He then went on to explain that Europeans visited this temple and copied the recipes, which later became the scents for some major perfume brands we see in the world; such as Chanel, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein etc.
I tried looking this up but was unable to find anything...
Can anyone confirm this, or has anybody heard this claim before? Would appreciate any links if anybody has.
