I am unable to understand why people are literally willing to trade~ 80% of their waking day to something as inconsequential as this! The Existential crisis on consulting presentations is hitting me rather badly!!
Any insights?
Edit: Lot of replies are stuck with Microsoft Power Point. Thatβs just an example, I used. The crux is working~80% of waking hours on anything..the medium doesnβt matter. Is it worth it
I have an extremely addictive personality and when I first started gambling on a game called CSGO when I was around 14 I was instantly hooked. Now Iβm 20 and I stopped the csgo betting and now I focus more on sports betting which still results in me losing thousands of dollars. Iβve had some crazy wins and crazy losses, but this bad beat is what truly made me stop gambling for almost 3 weeks now. I went from $25 to $500 after a couple of weeks of sports betting, but of course I eventually lost it all and I was down to $75. I went and checked on the basketball games on my sports book and I eventually came up with a 5 game parlay that I thought looked pretty good. It was $75 to win around $850 Iβd say. To get it all back that I just lost. It came down to the last game of the night. I hit 4/5 legs and all that needed to happen was Trail Blazers -4.5 against the Pacers. Trail Blazers were up by 13 with 8 minutes left to go in the final quarter. With about 3 minutes left the Pacers started throwing up wild threes and they COULDNT MISS. The Pacers came back, but not enough and they finally lost to the Trail Blazers. I was in shock and my stomach was in my butt. The final score was 110-106. I lost my 5 leg parlay by HALF A POINT. I lost $925 by .5 and I didnβt know what to do. I just stared at the final score while my heart was RACING and my mind was RACING on how I was going to make it back. My first thought was to make a $100 parlay the next night, but I actually felt better if I just quit for a while. I was stuck gambling every day and I dealt with so much stress about losing the money I worked hard for. Iβm not gambling again until the Super Bowl. After that, Iβm not gambling until March Madness. Iβm done sports betting EVERY SINGLE DAY. It literally makes me feel like garbage and a degenerate like I am.
I am half way through book #6.
This is the first book that feels like it doesn't start in medias res. It's like the author had realized that Nancy was being a bit too unladylike and wanted to remind us that, and I might be paraphrasing here, "women do be shopping."
that being said, the second word in the book is an insensitive descriptor of an Asian woman in a perfume boutique. Nancy uses it because the lady didn't want to sell a certain scent to them. I've said it before, this book better not be headed for a scene where Nancy pulls the corners of her eyes taut and reenacts her favorite scene from Breakfast at Tiffany's.
on the train back to River Heights, the girls spill the perfume that Bess bought from the Asian lady (for 20 bucks an ounce!). This is why the lady didn't want to sell it to you, girls!
A girl on the train passes out (not from the pungent smell of the perfume, we're assured) so Nancy goes to get some water and a guy asks her a coded message because he smelled that perfume on her (gross) It's some real low stakes espionage but a fun change from sinking boats and hating actors.
the girl (Jo) is coming to River Heights to get a job in the big city to save the titular Red Gate farm but it turns out that she's supposed to go to Riverside Heights instead. Nancy ends up taking her and it's exactly a 'casting couch' in an office building. They do not immediately leave.
Nosy Nancy thinks the guy "hiring" is disreputable enough to go through his things while he's conducting the "interview" off-stage. There has been no mystery even pretending to show up either. She just straight up gets into some dude's papers because she didn't like the cut of his jib.
Also, he pretty much called her 'toots.' Snoop away, Nancy! I apologize for earlier.
The trio eventually decide to go to Jo's family farm for a little while. Finally, some rumblings of a mystery start to form. Nancy does a little bit of code breaking and they learn of a 'nature cult' that is renting a piece of the propertynear a cave.
it turns out the most thing they do is dance out on a hill during a moonlit night. Although, Nancy turns her nose up at it and says 'what dancing? it's just flapping their arms up and down'. Turns out, Nancy is an intercontinental square dance champion now so apparently it gives her carte blanche to talk about some hippies dancing like she's Len Goodman telling Brian Austin Green his paso doble looks like absolute shit!

I'm planning to cover LGBTQ+ representation in fiction as part of it, so can you pls give any good LGBT characters? It can be from any branch, gay, lesbian, bi, trans, pan, asexual, etc. But it has to be good representation (So no Dumbledore's or offensive stereotypes)
I devoured the first 6 books (DG and BH are hands down my favorite). Had to take a break for life reasons during RG. The break started at the 1/3 point and now I am back in and cruising through. Was a bit thrown off re learning the new Letherii characters but think I am back on par.
However, a lot is going on. Lot's of realms, lore, warrens, and craziness I love, but after a break am a little thrown by.
Can someone give me a non spoiler overview of the big lore/god factions going on in the middle part of the book? I feel comfortable with the happenings in Lether's but the sub plots going on that dive into new realms and the underlying
You have Hedge reconnecting with QB and company in god knows where.
Bruthen Trana now dead/not dead searching for Forgotten Names (Brys Beddict coming soon I hope).
The "hunted" with Silchas Ruin and crew going into who knows what with Clip.
The Errant trapping Bugg with an alter and working with Feather Which.
I feel their is a lot of total series story arch being set up and and I'm missing some pieces.
