My fiancΓ© and I will be in Zurich for work in January, and are planning on taking a week off to ski. Weβre Americans, have never skied in Europe. We do most of our skiing in Colorado, and are comfortable with pretty much any in bounds terrain out west.
I understand Gstaad is lower altitude, and thus snow coverage might be a bit more questionable there, but should this be much of a concern in mid/late January?
Usually weβre more interested in the actual skiing vs. apres or other off mountain amenities, but since this a novel experience for us, would definitely prefer a town with solid dining and nightlife as well.
Iβd appreciate any thoughts or recommendations anyone has on these two (or any other alternatives)!
