A list of puns related to "Grit Name"
Hello! Pregnant with my second and collecting some girl names (I won’t actually know until next month!). I know for a girl her middle will be Rose-it was my grandmas middle and a nod to our somewhat hidden (and now distant) Jewish ancestry- her maternal grandma’s last name was Rosen.
We have very German last names and I insist on doing both with no hyphen.
Since Rose is hyper feminine I’m hoping for some strong names with some grit and maybe an edge of masculinity.
Names I like:
Agatha
Hazel
Harlow
Freddie/Winifred
Frankie
Freya
Any of these sparking a brainstorm? Let me know!
Edit: thank you nn these names are perfect and you’ve out preformed every app at generating them!
This is what I remember, It starts off with the main character being a child. He sees something scary in his closet or in his room which causes his hair to go white and scares him for life. In the morning his dad asks if he's a queer because of the hair remarking something along the lines of " I wont raise a queer, This has no plot significance and am only stating this because I remember it strangely clearly. His mother and father have a strained relationship and I believe they wanted to divorce. His mother cared for him while his father was uncaring and cold. If it helps there was a comment that said something like "if only there were more people in the world like his mom and less like his dad". He is playing with some metal toy and this annoys his dad. For some reason I don't remember in the next scene they are outside in a thunder storm. The mother says "this toy would never hurt anyone" while holding the metal toy, which is promptly struck by lightning, killing her. After him and his dad attend the funeral, he asks that the MC (how I will be referring to main character from this point on) stay with him to help him around the house because he is incompetent, and can now no longer depend on MC's mother. There was most likely a time skip after this where he is now an adult and working at retail. While he's working there he meets this girl. This part is blurry. I believe he goes home with the girl and And she leaves in the middle of the night while taking his wallet and cigarettes (this is a recurring joke but this is the only instance of it I remember.) She comes back later when she realizes she is pregnant and they become father and mother to MC's son. The girl leaves her son and MC soon after leaving some sort of note. After that there is a scene that shows MC repeating the same routine everyday (brush, work, drink beer and watch tv, repeat) somewhat akin to that office worker fish in SpongeBob, and becoming depressed due to it. He hangs himself and becomes an angel, presumably going to heaven. this either happened right after he killed himself or at the end of the last animation. his son comes into his room and sees it. Because his son needs somewhere to stay he goes to the house of the MC's dad, who is now old. They talk about how MC was a coward/queer or something like that because he hanged himself. Mc's son is what you'd describe as rather thuggish, and has lost all his innocence. Essentially being the cynical child archetype. Think Taro from
... keep reading on reddit ➡Can Zack's lv 50 passive be changed to Soldier's Pride please.
It makes more sense to use the word pride instead of grit for several reasons; in JP they use the word ソルジャーの意地. The ソルジャー part is literally Soldier and you can tell this since it is spelled in katakana letters. The 意地 part is pronounced "iji" and that describes a person's sense of will, intent, stubbornness, but since there is the letter の which is a possessive letter like how we use 's in English so in that context the entire wording is describing Zack's will as a member of Soldier. Then by taking his story in Crisis Core into consideration the best word to translate the meaning from Japanese to English would be pride. Culturally the word grit isn't really widely used to mean any of the things I have described and if you do hear the word pop up in the USA you are probably in a hardware shop talking about sand paper or construction. Outside of talking like your in an old wild west movie, grit just isn't the first word used in that context anymore or at all.
TLDR: Grit only makes sense in a dictionary translation, Pride makes more sense culturally and in every other way.
Going Old West on you guys today.
All have their signature revolvers (everyone is carrying 2 guns). They have to shoot 12 rounds so this may include holstering and drawing a second pistol unless they have shown they can use two accurately.
Round 1: Speed. Round 2: Accuracy. Round 3: Speed and Accuracy. Round 4: Speed and Accuracy while mounted. Round 5: Speed and Accuracy in a quickdraw (only 1 shot for this round). Round 6: all the data from above, who would be left standing in a big gunfight between all of them?
Edit: just reposting the names for the contest because I feel the title is a little jumbled;
Ben Wade, Django, Rooster Cogburn, Big Jake, Doc Holliday, and Blondie (man w/n name).
Edit 2: just curious if its just Alien Blue, but I see this is showing 23 comments and I can only view 9, is everyone seeing that or is it just my phone?
