I'm reading the original Hellblazer comics right now, very good if you like comics and characters who are bastards, and it's really striking to me how much John's magic is like Granny Weatherwax.
Both of their magic comes down to: 1. Knowing that most people want to be fooled just a little bit, 2. Headology will get you much further most of the time, 3. Magic is a dangerous game and it will probably stab you in the back, 4. Being the best there is.
Neither of them are good in a fight, John can't take a punch and Granny is...well a granny, but neither of them need to fight because they are the most cunning and forward thinking person in the room. And when it comes down to it and they need to move shit wirh their brain and fight monsters they are always ready.
I just thought it was an interesting comparison.
I’m about to finish listening to Lords and Ladies. And in this book Granny Weatherwax is described as tall one while Nanny Ogg is shorter..
Are they described like that before and I have missed that or is this the first time?
Because I always imagined Granny as shorter and fatter type and Nanny as the taller one.
A while ago I asked for ideas on what to include in Granny Weatherwax's garden. Got some lovely replies and great ideas. I used some and couldn't use others because of space restrictions. People asked for photos when I was finished, so here you guys are. What do you think?

I am in the process of making a book nook of Granny Weatherwax's garden. What would you expect to see included?
There are a number of people living in their cars near me. Today I walked past one of these cars with a sign in the window:
sleeping not dead
So basically my friend would like to make a board game section with Discworld characters, but asked for Discworld's scenes where we see her powers in action.
However there's two things he keeps pestering me about:
Granny "delaying a wound to another time" and "the most extreme form of Borrowing"
While I wouldn't say I lack Discworld books, I barely started the Witches one, so I can't be of much help.
So, could someone please send the according parts, if they know where they are ?
Made out of a cardboard box, some pipe insulation noodles, and newspaper. Paper-mache, water putty, and acrylic paint for texture and color. Some real acorns and pinecones for finishing touch. https://imgur.com/gallery/1A0fHTh
