A list of puns related to "Goodbye 2020"
Hopefully never come to this sub Reddit again
I just passed my total earnings for 2020 this month. #celebrate!
I mostly lurk this subreddit for inspiration when Iβm feeling very burnt out on my running routine, for tips on how to add mileage, etc. Even from the sidelines itβs a very motivating community, and thatβs why I was browsing the sub this morning before my runβ I had a tough night last night comparing myself and my running accomplishments to others and feeling really inadequate. I was just feeling down about myself in general, and was dreading going into todayβs planned long run that way. So I looked at the sub for motivation, had some coffee beforehand (per this subβs suggestion - I usually go totally fasted, no drinks or anything) and set out.
I run mostly to keep my sanity and the fact that it has my body in very able shape is a bonus, so I donβt really set goals for my runs often- itβs more just a βget out and do itβ thing. Iβve been slowly upping my mileage over the last few weeks and knock out 7-8 milers consistently. Iβve only done 10 miles once, this summer, and felt like I was in a position to do 10 miles even better now so thatβs what I was planning on. There was an inkling in the back of my mind about what if I tried for the half, but I figured Iβd see how the 10 went and go from there. I think honestly around mile 4 I knew I was going to end up doing it, and at mile 7 the βI would love to be able to say I ran a halfβ feeling kicked in and I was set on it.
By mile 10 when I had beat my previous best time by 15 minutes, I felt great. I smiled because I was proud which is not something I usually do while running honestly. The last 3 miles were naturally more of a struggle (especially the last half of mile 13, my god, stopping at stoplights had me afraid my legs wouldnβt start moving again) but I did it AND I never went over 8 min/mile pace! I finished with my average pace at 7:37, which is what I hold for my 10kβs regularly, and I was shocked. 1:40 time total, and I had no goals besides just to do the thing, so Iβm thrilled.
I wanted to say thank you to the community for picking me back up when I forget why I run, and giving me inspiration to get out there another day and do the damn thing all over again. And inspiring me to try harder while making sure itβs still fun. I havenβt felt this good about myself in awhile, and itβs a great way to close out 2020.
Now Iβll probably go take a nap because my hamstrings as well as my brain are fried. Happy (almost) new year, r/running!
(Just to clarify i lost my old reddit account that i made when i was active in this community)
I would like to just say thank you that this community exists because it was really a safe haven to come to before and after taking the SAT. It felt good knowing there were some people who were obsessed with knowing the answers and predicting scores after LOL
I just wanted to come on here with my free time and give some advice for the Juniors.
People on this subreddit are very very smart but that doesnβt mean you shouldnβt be happy with your score. Iβm probably one of the few average redditors who scored 1300. Itβs okay to get lower than the scores you see on here, donβt beat yourself up. I didnβt prep as much as i should have (i honestly woke up the day of the SAT and studied) but i really recommend reading through all the help that is on here. People are amazing on here and they are not stuck up so theyβre willing to help you out with questions.
If you end up with a lower than expected score, itβs not the end of the world. It might feel like shitty as f*** but i promise you that as long as you tried your best, you will succeed.
I also donβt recommend the August test because i honestly didnβt even pick up a book all summer because i had extracurriculars.
Remember that stats arenβt everything and Iβm wishing you guys the best luck with this whole Corona virus thing going on.
(i ended with a 4.1 W and a 1300. those stats got me into CSULB, CSUF, UCSB, & UCR. currently waiting on UCI and waitlisted at UCSD)
