A list of puns related to "Gi Glasses"
After the glass bridge game, when Gi-hun asks Sang-Woo about whether he would have pushed Gi-hun if he was in the 'glass expert's' place, Sang-Woo does not really answer. He brushes it off saying Gi-hun asks stupid questions or something similar in context.
What do you think Sang-woo would have done if it really was Gi-hun in front of him? Would he have pushed him too??
Four eyes white dragon.
^sorry if repost, thought of this myself.
I was going through my old Air Force stuff and I found my brown BCGs. Does anyone here know where I can order prescription lenses online that will fit them? Can they be replaced without breaking them?
I've been googling for about a half hour but haven't thought up the right keywords to find out if there is a universal fit for the things. Now that I can grow my hair and facial hair they don't make me look like a total spaz.
I enjoyed that all of the (squid) games β save maybe red light dead light β had an element of chance that determined your odds for survival: which shape you picked, the team you chose, the number you grabbed, etc.
I also enjoyed watching characters overcome these long-shot odds through clever thinking: licking the back of the dalgona candy being the most memorable example.
This begs the question. If you are player 062 on the glass bridge, who calculates you have a 1 in 2^15 chance of survival⦠what do you do?
Accepting death or trying to cheat seem like the obvious answers in this sub.
What if there is a better, even MORE chaotic way? What if you only had to test your luck once?
Whether you guess correctly, or fall to your death, the correct tile is revealed to the whole group. There are 16 people and 18 tiles, so here is the plan:
Each player only jumps ONCE. Regardless of survival, after the jump, the next player goes up to the front and jumps ONCE. With this, the odds of survival for each player is a hypothetically 50%.
This is a GREAT deal for the first 9 or so players. Instead of being forced to do a martingale strategy of jumping until they die, they just have to flip a coin once. It becomes less of a sure thing for the last few players. However, while one person refusing to jump just involves a large bully tossing their body across the bridge⦠half the group not moving requires a compromise.
It would also be easier to remember the correct path, because there would either be a person to signify the correct path, or a broken glass to signify the wrong path.
So what is standing in the way of this strategy?:
Most obviously, there is concern over βbreaking the rules.β One of the guards says the order of the numbers is the order they cross the bridge. However, Iβm not convinced. A. The person on the loud speaker never said those who cut in line briefly would be punished. B. They could still cross the finish line in order. C. Thereβs not a lot of incentive for the folks in the front β basically sentenced to death β to not at least try!
Would the VIPs stand for it?: Iβd argue yes! While they didnβt enjoy the glassmakerβs #skillz, this is all chance. No one is guaranteed survival, and EVERY jump counts. I also think this still gives an opportunity for entertaining/horrifying situations: Deok-Su could still be a bully/coward and refuse to jump, folks could still push the front-most person if they are taking too long, and imagine the mad dash
Obligatory βit didnβt happen today, happened over the last few weeks.β
TL;DR: had the bright idea to drink a grotesque amount of water daily. Flushed all the sodium out of my system and had a miserable month of GI issues.
A few weeks ago, I saw an interview on ESPN about Kevin Loveβs diet, and he mentioned that he tried to drink his weight in fluid ounces every day of water. I play basketball often and am trying to clean up my diet, so I immediately thought βwow! What a fantastic idea! I should try that!β I invested in a 52 oz water bottle and tried to drink it 4 times daily.
What followed was the worst month of my life so far as GI issues.
I felt like shit all the time. I lost a ton of weight because my appetite was totally gone. I had awful cramps almost nightly. Iβd spend several hours on the toilet every day either peeing or trying to shit out my cramps. I couldnβt drink any alcohol without throwing up, so going out with friends was totally out of the question. Basketball became unbearable. Iβd sweat bullets anytime I was slightly warm (really grossing everyone out). I couldnβt sleep well because i always woke up in pools of sweat. I always felt full, my eyes felt like they were about to pop out of my head constantly. It was awful. I felt very, very sick all the time.
I had heard of water intoxication, but I assumed that took like several gallons in a short period of time. So, I kept up my routine for the entire month. I should also mention that I hate water. I would typically chug the water bottle as fast as I could to get it over with. I was ingesting a lot of water, very quickly, over an extended period of time. Genius.
Finally I go to the doctor. I explain whatβs going on and my doc immediately starts ordering all kinds of tests, very worried about some kind of stomach cancer, Crohnβs, celiac, ulcers, etc. My doc knows me well and an all around great guy, so he knows something is definitely wrong. Iβm a little freaked at this point, calling my mom, thinking about taking a semester off college, so mentally exhausted of feeling terrible all the time. It was rough.
Doc sees Iβm a little panicked and noticed my siswet-dildo-sized water bottle hanging on my backpack. He says something about how well hydrated I must be. I laugh and proudly tell him I drink it 4 times a day. He laughs at first, then looks at me:
βWait, are you serious?β
βYup.β
βFor how long?β
βOhhh a few weeks.β
βWhen was the last time you drank Gatorade or ate someth
... keep reading on reddit β‘When people talk about the worst person in Squid Game, we frequently see Oh Il-Nam or Cho Sang-woo mentioned. However, there's one villain I feel is underestimated in terms of evil; Jang Deok-su.
The first thing to specify; heinous and evil are two different things. Villains like Il-Nam, In-ho (the Front man) and VIP's are obviously more heinous due to worse actions but they have way more resources to work with than Deok-su. Doing worse actions than someone doesn't make you more evil.
For me, someone truly evil is a sadistic psychopath who knows that they are doing is wrong and actively strives to hurt others with no redeeming or sympathetic qualities. Let's look at the other villains;
Oh Il-Nam - Started the Squid Games out of boredom, making him responsible for thousands of deaths. However, he genuinely liked Gi-Hun as a friend as he admitted in his final moments, from the way he talks of them he clearly loves his family, there's nothing that indicates his affable, friendly nature is an act and he voted to let everyone leave when it came down to his vote. Il-Nam, while causing the most harm, isn't sadistic or cruel for the sake of it and has redeeming qualities. Plus at his age, think about the amount of wars and economic issues he's witnessed or suffered. Can you blame him for his bad view on humanity (doesn't justify his actions though)?
Front Man - Oversees the games, kills guards for removing their masks and even shoots his own brother (doubt he's dead though). However, he clearly was hesitant and regretted doing the latter, he has genuine respect for Il-Nam (visits his death bed), is against cheating and likely has a sympathetic background (seeing as he was in a situation where he played the games himself).
Cho Sang-woo - Lol Sang-woo worse than Deok-su? Sang-woo did do bad stuff during the game; not telling about the second game, tricking Ali, (accidentally) pushing 69 to suicide, pushing the glassmaker and killing Say-byeok. However, Sang-woo takes no pleasure in any of his actions and clearly shows remorse of most of them. Unlike Deok-su, none of his actions are out of malice, he's just acting to survive. He even redeems himself in the end, sacrificing himself so Gi-Hun can get the prize money and help his mother.
All of of the other major villains, despite their flaws, have positive qualities (the VIP's are a group and don't have much individual personality so I don't count them).
Deok-su? Beats a girl in his first scene while making rac

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
So I'll usually have a glass or two of wine a day, sometimes a beer or two, sometimes a few actual drinks. Some days I won't drink as much or at all. I'm 25 and male. My stomach has already been feeling weird lately so I won't drink too much but I had 3 malt beers the other day (a 22 ounce, regular 12 ounce and a 22 or something), yesterday I had some wine, truly and drank a lil whiskey. I'm thinking about going to grab a few 22s/40s (Modelos, Colt 45s, etc) to have some with my weed for this Saturday but I don't know if drinking like this is negative. I normally don't get fucked up drunk or anything but could get hella tipsy.
I read that it's safe to have one or two drinks per day but no more than 3 a week. Which logically doesn't make sense. Why would they word it like that? Saying 1 or 2 drinks per day literally insinuates that you could and would drink 1 or 2 drinks multiple days in a row throughout the week, but saying it caps out at 3 would then be redundant. Thats like saying "you can drink for a day and a half".
I know people that drink wine and trulys every day, another person that drinks beer every day, some people out here drinking bottles every other day, then there's people that have a beer or three after work every day, or a few glasses of wine, and never have an issue, doing so for years. But then some people that drink like that for just a few years could encounter GI problems, etc.
Then there's other places saying no more than 4 drinks a day, 14 drinks a week (for men).
There's a lot of places saying different things and I dunno what's what. Does anyone really know?
If you have one, you can comment below.
If you don't, feel free to take a stab at these ones:
The Front Man wanted his brother the cop to find him at the island and expose the games because he somehow couldn't do it himself.
Since Minyeo and Deok-su fell down the glass bridge together (and we didn't see their bodies,) one of them must be alive.
The old man is related to Gi Hun (MC).
The Front Man once tried to expose the games like Gi Hun is setting out to do.
Old Man faked his death.
Sang Woo was gay (but because of South Korea's deep-rooted backward views on homosexuality it wasn't made clear on the show).
Cop guy is alive since he was just shot on the shoulder.
Charming subway recruiter is related to the old man and also likes to participate in the games operations just like the old man.
The guards are NK defectors which explains their indifference to all that violence as they are used to it.
Gi Hun will follow the cop guy's approach in secretly entering the games as a guard rather than a player.
(Edited to include a few good ones the commenters have mentioned.)
Hi! After an acute GERD/gastritis/LPR episode in Apr 21, I came to this group *a lot*. I appreciated the people who had success stories and promised myself that if I had any bright spots, I would share. I'm more or less "normal" again (haven't been back here in months!) - so if this can be helpful to any of you, take heart! :)
*Caveat: I know many people have severely chronic cases that can't be fixed with lifestyle alone, and I'm lucky that that doesn't seem to be me so far, but if you're new to this, maybe you'll have a similar journey!
Symptoms
April '21: acute episode that lasted intensely for two weeks -- stomach burning and nausea, tremendous burping, felt completely full/bloated without eating, shortness of breath, feeling like food was stuck in my throat, throat pain and fatigue, heart palpitations - the works.
Docs diagnosed with GERD/gastritis but didn't have much to say except "manage stress" and "cut out caffeine, alcohol, spicy foods for a week or two and we'll watch it".
The intense pains/nausea subsided but the burping continued (like my esophagus was carbonated every time I swallowed, so weird), as did the shortness of breath (esp after meals), the inability to swallow normally, and the satiety - I could eat only a few bites at a time before I felt uncomfortably full, couldn't breathe and had lots of burping/reflux. Lost 15 pounds (I'm a slim person already.) I also noticed way more of the LPR throat symptoms - nasal congestion in the morning, sore throat, hoarseness (lots of fun with "is this COVID?") Very debilitating and depressing.
Diagnosis/Testing
After two months of these symptoms not getting much better, I did a lot of tests: negative for H pylori, clear endoscopy / colonoscopy, basically clear blood work, etc. The GI suggested strong PPIs; after reading a lot of these messages, I decided to get strict on lifestyle to see if I could make changes that way first and would take PPIs if symptoms did not improve. Also I read that PPIs don't help LPR as much, but I am not a doctor!
Tackling food and stress were my objectives as I think they were/are the root of my issues: I had been under all the normal pandemic stress we all face(d), plus individual stress (family member w/ cancer) and had also been hitting the black coffee super hard on an empty stomach (silly).
My routine
Food: I was absolutely, "no cheating even once" strict with my diet for two months (and pretty strict for a few months afte

I've drank mouthwash before, but the last time I drank it, I mixed it with water and it just made me nauseous and it was too much of a chore to get a buzz. I just bought a bottle of cheap mouthwash with the little bit of change I had left. If you've resorted to drinking mouthwash, do you mix it with anything or just take straight shots with the shot glass that comes with the bottle? I know it wreaks havoc on the stomach and GI tract but fuck it. I'll climb that mountain when I get to it.
