A list of puns related to "Ghulat"
http://www.cardgamedb.com/forums/uploads/lotr/ffg_ghulat-eaad.jpg
we had this ridiculous situation happen in a game. Ghulat is a unique enemy in the quest were the players are supposed to save villagers. the players need to complete all quest cards, and have more rescued villagers than dead villagers at the end. They also need to destroy Ghulat, because they cannot win while he is in play. But due to his ridiculous wording, they cannot lose either!
in addition to that, the quest card says that every unopposed attack adds as many dead villagers as the attack's damage. Ghulat himself hits as hard as the number of dead villagers, so every Ghulat's attack doubles the number of dead villagers. after a while, there a hundreds of dead villagers and it is apparent that the players will never win. but the game cannot end until Ghulat is destroyed! if you run out of cards that can destroy Ghulat, the game will never end ever EVER! what is this, Jumanji?
what is even more ridiculous is if all your heroes die. they cannot die to unopposed attacks, because the damage goes on dead villagers, but if they'd die to something else (archery or treachery) you wouldn't have any active heroes but the game could still not end. you'd have to sit there for all eternity adding more and more damage to the dead villagers card.
The term literally translates to "extremist" but this is in the sense of religious doctrine, NOT fanaticism. These groups are syncretic - they are amalgamations of numerous ancient traditions - putting them squarely outside of mainstream Sunni and Shi'ite Islam. Historically, as well as today, this otherness has caused these groups to employ the Shi'ite practice of taqiyyah, making them some of the least understood groups in the region despite their importance to its history and contemporary politics.
If this interests you at all, which I hope it does, I am happy to say more. That said, I can only offer an ersatz analysis compared to Matti Moosa. I highly recommend the book "Extremist Shiites: The Ghulat Sects (Contemporary Issues in the Middle East)" for a comprehensive discussion of the topic.
I made a post on Islam in CK3 here a few days ago, titles "Some thoughts on CK3 and how it deals with Islam", and was told it wasnβt the easiest to read, so here is my attempt at a take two on the topic, this time sectioned a bit better but also more detailed.
A bit of background on me, Iβm an amateour historian and am currently taking a bachelor in Religious Studies and hope to specialise in Islamic History as itβs something that really fascinates me, I started playing Paradox games when Sword of Islam came out to CK2, which drew me to try it and have loved them ever since.
two disclaimers 1) Iβll βproposeβ some gameplay changes but am not good at mechanics design and especially game balancing, so take them as more of a thought training experiment on the subject. Iβd love feedback and criticism if anyone has any. 2) I have so far mainly focused on early Islam, and on Ismaili Shiβism, which will become clear in these sections being more well fleshed out than the rest.
Iβd like to start out with a few Proβs and Conβs with the current system of religion in CK3:
Pros:
Cons:
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
I guess the concept didn't work
Do your worst!
How the hell am I suppose to know when itβs raining in Sweden?
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?

Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments

I'm an amateur historian and taking an education in Religious Studies, Islam specifically Early Islam has fascinated me since I was a kid, and I remember the launch of the Sword of Islam dlc to CK2 was what initially got me into Paradox games, now Religion in ck2 wasn't the most representative, and the approach of ck3 for modularity and more diversity spoke to me in the development period, but the way it is at the moment and was at launch leaves much to be desired, and having read through this forum I can see a lot of other people have had similar thoughts.
I love how the system splits up the Main sub-groups according to the Succession crisis, however I feel like the Caliphate should be a Pan-Islam title, not sect specific, however each major sub-sect should have a unique attitude and relationship with the Caliphate, and dissidence and rejection of Caliphs and the errection of counter/anti Calipihates/Imamates possible, but for this to work I believe there would need an overhaul of the sect system:
Starting out it feels achronological to be talking about Sunni Islam at 867, as the various tendencies that go on to formulate the mainstream currents of Sunni Islam today at this point barely had taken shape nor had a cohesive unitary "Sunni" identity been formed. Then unity between the various Sunni groups was a slow development that happened in reaction to the Fatimid Caliphate (10-12th century), and is said to have been consolidated by the time of the Mamluk Sultan Baibar (13th century) who restored the Abbasid Caliphate and appointed four chief Qadis one of each Mahbad (Figh/Jurisprudence school).
The main Sunni branch in the game is Asharism, however Ashari himself is born 873, 6 years after the earliest start of the game, and the Theology school with his name would only emerge much later after his death in 935, and even by the later starting date at 1066, it would only be one of many emerging Sunni tendencies. As for the other Sunni schools, it makes sense Maturidism is places relative to Asharism as another branch, as Maturidism (10th century) compromises a second current of Sunni theology, Mutazilitism however is a more broad term both compromising Jurisprudence as well as theology, yet when I hear the term I mainly think Jurisprudence, the last two however are less clear, Almohadism, originating from the Almohad Caliphate (12-13th century), this is a term used to describe the movement and sect of the Caliphate, yet it's theology was Asharite, me
