I'm moving into a flat in Garnethill at the end of the month. I'm getting a parking permit for my car as my flat doesn't have parking. There are some spaces around that the permit will work for. Can't move into the flat until I get the permit really - has anyone has an experience of this in Garnethill (or just getting a parking permit with Glasgow City Council in general) ?
I’m (fingers crossed!) moving to Garnethill this month and after being spoiled for supermarkets in Partick I’m wondering where the best place to do my big food shop will be. I know there’s the Tesco on Sauchiehall street, but wondering if there’s anywhere else I haven’t noticed? I don’t have a car btw. Thanks!
I’ve moved to the Garnethill area about a week ago and still haven’t heard back from the council about getting a permit. I understand things will take longer because of covid, but parking attendants have started back up again and the area my new flat is in you can only pay for a max of an hour. I was just wondering if anyone knows any free parking nearby Garnethill? I’m currently parked at my old flat which is a half hour walk away, but isn’t ideal as I have to drive to work (waaay too far to walk and still wary of public transport atm) and the last thing I want after a 12 hour nightshift is to have to walk that far! Hi all! Sadly, my bike got stolen yesterday from the third floor landing inside a tenement in Garnethill. No signs of breaking in so someone must have let them in.. It's a Pinnacle Lithium 4 2018, with added mudguards and comfort handlebars. The wee bell was also broken so if the thief doesn't get rid of it might help identifying. A red and black Raleigh helmet with back light was stolen with it, as well as two frog lights. A very long shot but who knows!

Hi, I’ve been living in Glasgow for a month now and decided to go back to the rooms after being 2 years sober. I’ve mostly been going to the Clydebank meetings, and I’ve been to one at the Quaker house. I’ve been struggling to find ones that have more young people, as I’m looking for sober friends as well as a sponsor. I’m in the heart of merchant city now but will soon be relocating to the west end, so i have no problem taking the bus or walking to a meeting outside those areas. Any bit of information or advice will help! Thanks!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
