Gangut Class-inspired Battleship
Type 003 Battleship
Following suggetsion on my last post, here is an example of how I am updating my desings. The main battery guns are turreted and reach 7m below deck, protected by a metal/heavy armour inner plating and metal belt with "torpedo bulges" (in reality they contain differentially activated pumps that compensate listing in a turn).
Total firepower is 40.07, from 4x2 500mm APS main battery and 4x4 40mm AA/secondaries.
Nominal battle rating is 4 Marauders (the number of Marauders it can take at once), although I tested it in creative, below optimal battle range.
Next up: self-shutting stem engine (with ACBs), 2 blocks thick metal armour, and submarines.

Why are the Russian "Sevastopol-class" battleships usually called "Gangut-class" in Western literature?
In Russian and Soviet literature, the class was always called after Sevastopol, the first ship to be launched - all the way to the original factory drawings. How did it became known as Gangut-class?
Similarly, Izmail-class battlecruisers are usually referred to as Borodino-class - is it for a similar reason?
