A list of puns related to "Free Electron Model"
I apologize for any spelling or grammatical errors. These are the first iterations of my papers and I will continue to work them as time permits. Unfortunately, I am not sure how much time I will have to work on this project as I have two brain aneurysms which incidentally have caused me to publish these papers much earlier than I anticipated. My hope is that bright minds will entertain these theories as I think they have merit and can propel us into a brighter future. Please download copies as well for I am also unsure what might happen if I am indeed correct. Also, I don't want anything in return really, just to help out while I am here. If you have questions, I am still around.

I was browsing the shop hoping to find an Electron model to add to my collection and unfortunately there isn't one. I know I could 3D print one myself but I'd prefer an official one as collectible.

Hi, I have been trying for hours now to generate electron density maps and export them as 3D models to include them into powerpoint presentations for teaching purposes.
This is how far I got (I don't have any prior experience in molecular modeling):
Create molecule in Avogadro and generate GAMESS input file
Do necessary calculations in GAMESS
Open output .log file from GAMESS in MacMolPlt
Generate surface (3D Electron Density Map) in MacMolPlt
This is the output so far, which I'm very happy with: https://imgur.com/a/OX830hm
But now the thing I can't figure out: How do I get a Power Point compatible 3D file from this? I made some good experience with VMD, it works like a charm with the simple ball and stick models. I can even export the molecule from MacMolPlt and import it into VMD successfully. Is there a way to display the surface in VMD too?
Edit: Should I ever figure this out, would anyone be interested in a tutorial?
(A) "jumps" from one energy level up to another higher energy level.
(B) "jumps" from one energy level down to another lower energy level.
(C) is completely removed from the atom.
(D) is converted to the pure energy of a photon.
(E) is absorbed by the nucleus.
I believe the answer to be B
Please let me know if any clarification is needed to answer my question.
This is a few hours old, but I thought psychonauts unsubbed to TIL aught to see this.
Long-winded but great article showing more than just what the title says- but also the role LSD has apparently played in the American R&D society since the gov't started deciding it no longer approved of Lucy in the late '60s.
Just more evidence of the real potential of LSD, as well as some endorsements of it from some very influential people.
All credit to /u/tomrhod; original post
edit- sorry, I thought the title would link to the article.. guess it broke.
Edit2: I found this post last night, ended up having to go to bed before getting the chance to reference it here, sorry :/ . It links to a PDF from Erowid that seems to be a report by the scientists during this study- in which it seems to be referenced that the drug administered to the subjects was in fact mescaline, and not LSD. This seems to conflict with the statements made by Dr. Fadiman early in this video found by /u/HaunterGatherer, however. Opinions?
βYa, Iβm positive.β
When I think of the orbits of the planets, I picture the classic Einsteinian model where the Sun is stretching space-time into a valley and the planets follow their orbits while simultaneously falling closer to the sun. However, I know that space-time is a 4 dimensional place and I really can not wrap my head around how the planets orbit in this sense.
Positrons are just electrons with the same mass but positive charge right? So why are they not as "fundamental" as electrons? I understand that other anti-matter particles are just different combinations of particles on the standard model, but how can that be the case for positrons?
Rocket Labβs CEO Peter Beck along with his staff seem to be having fun naming their Electron launches.
Launches so far have been named:
It's a Test
Still Testing
It's Business Time
This One's For Pickering
Two Thumbs Up
That's a Funny Looking Cactus
Make it Rain
Look Ma, No Hands
As the Crow Flies
I think Elon himself unofficially named Falcon Heavyβs first launch as βHoly Flying F*:ck It Took Off!!β
It would be a copycat thing for SpaceX to do to emulate Rocket Lab, but as a fun project, what launch title would you give the first flight of Starship Mk.1?
I picture it as a Looney Tunes style of fight sequence that turns into a dust cloud, but in reality the electron is moving so fast that it attracts mass.
additional question; why do electrons have momentum? Can this be answered?
I understand how it works, but how on earth did these geniuses actually figure out the rules for electron orbitals (and the shapes)? Just as far as N,L,M relations go? It boggles my freaking mind that they could figure it out when they can't even observe what's happening. Also, what are the odds that the theory is actually wrong? How hard would it be to actually prove?
I've spent waaaayyyy too much on kb stuff, and need to clear out some items. Everything was purchased aftermarket for way too much money, so these prices are not wonderful. I realize this. All prices include CONUS shipping and pp fees.
