A list of puns related to "Foundation House Officer"
Hi! I recently bought a 40yo detached home and one of the contractors coming in for a home inspection pointed out subtle signs of nail pops throughout the house.
These nail displacements on the wall are only noticeable when you shine light on and can be seen pushing slightly out against the paint (nothing that punctures the actual drywall)
The contractor is saying that this is a foundational issue caused by frost heaving liftimg up the garage during the winter and twisting the house accordingly.
The proposed fix to the garage is pretty pricey and just wanted to check here to see if anyone had a similar experience or thinks that the nail displacements on the 40yo property is a concern or just a common issue on an older property.
Thanks in advance!
House is in southeast Texas and had a concrete slab that was built in 1986, we've owned it since 2014.
Recently we've noticed little things, grout cracking downstairs, doors sticking, and worse our patio door has pulled slightly away from the side of house.
Called out a respected company and they said it was barely out of spec .9" off in worst location. He said it was optional to get it fixed at this time and would only be $2500.
I think we should just go ahead and get it taken care of for how cheap it is (was expecting $5-8k).
Anyone experienced something similar and gotten it fixed or not?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji,
Law abiding citizens of India are reeling under the impact of the alarming exposΓ© on the meticulously executed sinister plan by Zakat Foundation of India to capture key bureaucratic positions in India through the UPSC exam.
On the face of it, there is nothing wrong or illegal in a Muslim community organization helping youngsters of the community do well in competitive exams, including the prestigious UPSC exam. Let me also state it loud and clear that our disquiet and alarm regarding these candidates is NOT on account of their being Muslim. Our concern is on account of their links to Zakat Foundation of India & allied organizations.
The lightning speed with which Islamic groups managed to get a stay order from the High Court of Delhi to stop Sudarshan News from airing their planned program titled βUPSC/ Naukarshahi Jehadβ betrays the nervousness and fear of public exposure of the Zakat Foundation of Indiaβs agenda. Their clout is evident from the fact that courts have rarely, if ever, given stay orders on programs yet to be aired. All this clearly indicates that vested interests coming out in defence of Zakat Foundation of India have much to hide.
What is even more alarming is the speed with which they organized more than 1,700 citizens, including prominent journalists, film directors, lawyers and civil society members, to write to seven chief ministers, demanding that an FIR be registered against Sudarshan News Editor-in-Chief Suresh Chavhanke for spreading βhate speechβ (https://theprint.in/india/grotesque-assault-on-india-over-1700-citizens-demand-fir-against-suresh-chavhanke/491095/). It is noteworthy that most of the signatories belong to the Award-Wapsi-Gang and the Shaheen-Bagh-Support-Brigade.
Zakat Foundationβs Inroads into Elite Civil Services:Β Since 2009, Zakat Foundation of India has been spending huge amounts of money from the βzakatβ funds to provide scholarship

I do not post much on reddit so my apologies if this is not the best place for this but I'm trying to get some more information to take my next steps.
My wife and I bought a house in May of 2021; during our walk through we noticed there were some cracks in walls and the floor felt a little spongey in a few places. Of course they told us that was just normal settling. We had our inspection done and they said there seemed to be some foundation issues; so we had a structural engineer come out and give us a report and from there we had a foundation company coming in and install two helical piers and some sister joists.
To our knowledge that was supposed to take care of that...then we started noticing cracks in the walls again, some of our doors stick and it still feels spongey in certain places in the floor.
So we had a few other companies come out to see what was going on and they said we had a beam that was bent and bowing and one support pillar is being held up by some kind of plastic shims (and another is not even touching the beam it's sitting under).
So from the sound of things they may have jacked the joist up too much causing that one wood beam to become bowed.
Do we go back to the other company and tell them to fix their mistake? and if they refuse or give me any hassle: does it need to come to lawyers being involved?
One of the other foundation companies we had out suggested having a structural engineer come out but like I said we ALREADY had a structural engineer so I don't want to spend the $500 for them to say same thing the first one did and we're back to square one.
All this homeowner stuff is still so new and it can become quite overwhelming so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking to purchase my first home in Vernon, CT. The house looks good and just the way we wanted it to be. But there are cracks in the foundation. The current owners fixed a couple of big ones with Attack-a-Crack. And there is a lifetime warranty on those cracks. But, I did observe a few more minor cracks. In CT, crumbling foundations is a big issue with houses constructed between 1985 till 2015 due to pyrrhotite in the concrete. If this is a crumbling foundation, the only fix is to replace the entire foundation. What other reasons there could be cracks in foundation? What kind of inspection do I have to do and how much is it going to cost?
As title suggests, if i lay a ball on the floor it will roll towards one corner of the house. Not all rooms are like this, but many area. I don't see any horizontal cracks in drywall or foundation. only a hairline vertical crack in the foundation near the corner where the house slopes. it's very small and sometimes I can't even find it.
How concerned should I be?
i can literally see outside between two bricks from inside my house (I have a brick house)
WHAT DO I DO
