A list of puns related to "Farscape"
Farscape was one of those shows that got glossed over by the hoi polloi back in the late-1990s/early-2000s because, much like Deep Space 9, it had a continuous story where you couldn't just jump in at any random episode.
But much like Legends, it has a plucky band of misfits (and criminals) stuck on a ship together, having adventures, and going just a biiiiiiiiiiiit bonkers.
You're welcome.
I've almost finished the first season of Farscape and all I can is I regret taking so long to watch this gem of a show. It was always on my to-do list, but I really should have bumped it up sooner. It's really ticking all of the boxes for me. It has a great story, the characters are great, it's irreverent, understatedly funny and it moves at an incredible pace. I absolutely adore the puppet work (Henson is always great to be fair) too - they're so expressive, creative, and capable of true emotion. Crichton is also a great protagonist. I really love how he went from being a good old southern boy to gradually becoming more shaken by the events that happen to him. Finally, I absolutely love the alien slang. I don't always know what they're talking about, but it's brilliant and really bolsters the idea of this being a world with its own cultures, history and civilisations.
Anyway, sorry for the random collection of thoughts here. There's just so much to enjoy about this series and I wanted to talk about it. I'm going to binge all of it over the next few weeks. I assume there are some big fans here?

I have some stuff like, some TV Guides in good condition that feature the miniseries. I have 4 action figures: John, Zhann, D'Argo and Chiana. I think (???) I have some autographs from the Orlando Save Farscape thing with Lani, Gigi, and Paul. Definitely some signed fanart. (I need to go thru my scrapbook again.) Anyway, are the action figures and TV Guides worth any value, even within fandom?
If anyone is familiar with the series Andromeda, there is a purple /pale character named Trance, who is like a more "PG" version of Chiana.
It seems like every week there are new posts and comments from people saying that they just got into Farscape, and I love to see it. Just goes to show that a quality show is enjoyable regardless of how long ago it came out.
For all the new Scapers, welcome! It's great to have you and I always enjoy meeting new people that I can share this incredible show with.
Feels like a certain global situation might have contributed to some of the new fans but that makes sense. After all, what better time is there to find Farscape than when you're trapped in a new, uncomfortable situation and just want to return to some level of normalcy before you lose your mind?
When your party members are more a threat than the monsters, you know you are playing a TTRPG.

So, I'm a big Stargate fan. So when I saw references to other shows with our favorite actors, I told myself "Hey, why not".
So, I'm watching the 20th anniversary blu-ray collection of Farscape. Starting in season 3, at the end of every episode it says you can interact by going to farscapefans.com or by calling (877) MOYACRU.
I love Farscape and I'm bored so I decide to ring up the old number and see if there's still some cast recording or something like that. Nope! I dial up the number, exactly as it says, and I immediately here this:
"Thank you for calling America's hottest phoneline, guys and girls are waiting for you."
My fiancΓ© could hear it and was giving me a hell of a look so I hung up. As soon as our eyes met, we just burst into laughter.
Thanks for the memory, Farscape!
If they are, do you think they should be?
Hello, So I've recently watched farscape on Amazon prime for the first time and Frelling loved it! So I was thinking of getting a physical copy since places like amazon have a habit of removing shows at random, so onto my question..
Main question Is the amazon prime version equivalent to the Blu ray or dvd versions?
I'm assuming blu ray since it streams in Hd but I'm really not sure if the Hd option does anything on there for some shows.
Other question I also heard there is an order of episodes issue near the start Mainly to do with Ka D'Argo? Is that a amazon prime issue and fine on dvd etc or is it like starwars and you need to know the correct order for episodes :S ?
And Final question is the Universe collection worth much?
I've been looking around at prices and a used normal boxset with peacekeeper wars seems to be Β£50ish all the way upto Β£200..
I know the universe collection was sold by Zavvi for 119ish but seeing it on amazon for something like Β£240 seems insane..
Bassiccly I have an offer from a seller for dvds version used but also a blu ray offer New but at considerably more, just trying to figure out which is worth it as I wouldn't want to downgrade the quality. Bluray version is also a bit more of a collectable hence the price is higher but still its pricey. And I'm considering the fact there might yet be a reboot..
Edit: Thank you everyone for responses!
Another Edit: My partner got me the limited edtion complete series for 50quid, I think she got sick of me debating lol
Also what hurt Is I then saw the dvd universe collection, apprently new sell for 42 ish :o
Finally got a complete set though :D
When I first started watching it, I actually stopped after the third episode of season 1. I just felt like it was too hokey. About a year went by and I returned to it and decided to watch it all the way through. Now that it's over...I want more! It was just such a cool, creative show that managed to be tongue-in-cheek but also took itself seriously. The Henson company practical effects were rad. If you want a scifi show that was pretty damn original check this one out it's totally worth it.
(Disclaimer: This is all based on the aggregated user ratings on IMDB across each individual episode per season and is subject to change. This data is accurate as of May 12, 2021)
1st: Season Three with an average of 7.89/10
2nd: Season Four with an average of 7.81/10
3rd: Season Two with an average of 7.79/10
4th: Season One with an average of 7.66/10
I personally found the ratings across the board to be lower than what I would give, but Farscape is my all-time favorite show.
What do you all think of IMDB users' rankings? How would you rate/rank the seasons?
I haven't watched Farscape in a few years, but it's one of my favorite series. I'd like to make a reference to it on my Animal Crossing island as my theme has become "my favorite things", but I'm totally blanking on any items/props/symbols that I could incorporate subtly. Does anyone have any better ideas than simply making posters of characters or the logo?
For example: I have an Egypt exhibit with Stargate's Earth origin symbol mixed in with hyroglyphs. I have S.O.S. brigade flyers from The Melancholy Tale of Haruhi Suzumiya and the "I Want To Believe" X-Files poster in my arcade. I have a Togepi egg from PokΓ©mon at my fossil dig site. I have Star Wars and Star Trek uniforms in my space and flight museum area. Etc.
Thank you in advance for any ideas!
Due to Pandemic, and lack of new media I've been re-watching old favorites and finally caught the Farscape bug... again
Farscape has always been one of my favorite shows, and one of the best sci fi compared to others of its' time.
I don't want to throw shade at the other big shows available around the time it was out, so please read the end of this paragraph BEFORE fury-responding so you understand the context. But let's compare. One was a stuffy follow the orders, robot crew type show where it barely gets interesting until the 3rd season, and does nothing but signal virtues repeatedly at expense of entertainment and story. The other was great from the start for nostalgias' sake, but it was pretty damn gloomy and it was always the same shit. Don't get me wrong, I loved the 2nd one (still, after all this time, the first one is not a favorite for me, as I am a fan of the original series instead).
To me, Farscape just blows both out of the water with its creativity and world building. There was almost always something new building the universe. It's self aware and has given me many belly laughs. It's like if you crossed the world building of Avatar, Times Star Wars, Times The Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy for a dash of madness.
I never understand how it didn't become as popular as the other 2 shows I mentioned, given its excellence. It's 20 years old and sublime... the only parallels I could draw is people alive who don't know who Beck is and how awesome that music is. lol.
I'm already through S01-03 and working my way through 04. Wish I'd found this forum before I started watching. There are 0 people in my life who even know what Farscape is or who would get the jokes and references so its' nice to be among Scapers. It seems there are many Farscape games one should be playing. Does anyone have a list of them? Every time Rygel farts, you have to xxx. Every time someone goes looney tunes, you have to yyy. I could almost see this becoming a RHPS type thing.
I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't watched the full show (ned stark dies), but I was always shocked how they just ended it. At least we got Peacekeeper wars to wrap things up. Looking forward to re-watching.
Re-watching it after so long has been great. I had forgotten so many of the details and it still makes me laugh and entertains. Damn I hope if they bring it back, it's as good as the original.
Cheers
Farscape is my all-time favorite show and it has impacted my life in so many ways.
For one, growing up it was a helpful form of escapism. It also was a nice way for my mother, brother, and me to bond. My mother loves science fiction and my disabled brother loves space and muppets so Farscape was a delightful blend of both for him. Watching them enjoy a show I loved was wonderful.
On a personal and emotional level, the show also helped me come to terms with my disabilities. Similarly, it showed me that I don't have to let my trauma define me but that I also don't have to pretend to be okay all the time, that those who really care will want to see the honest aftermath so they can help in the recovery.
More recently, my passion for Farscape led to me getting an opportunity at my first professional writing gig. My Farscape article did go through and reception to it was good enough to get me additional paid writing opportunities. As someone who always dreamt of being a writer, hitting that milestone was such an emotional moment for me and I have Farscape to thank for it.
My fiancΓ© is a wonderful woman but did not grow up with any real knowledge or interest in science fiction, video games, or things like that. She knew my love for Farscape and suggested watching it with me. We were both apprehensive about her not liking it, but she actually loves it. She especially loves D'Argo and, ya know, totally understandable. But her love for Farscape has made her more open to and excited for hearing about other sci-fi properties and geeky things that I enjoy. The show somehow brought us even closer together.
Farscape was a bonding point for my family, an emotionally defining experience for me, a professional catalyst, and a gateway for my fiancΓ© into the world of works I enjoy. It's hard to believe that a single show could have such an impact on my life in so many ways, but Farscape did. I am just so thankful for this show.
