Employee recognition? Gross!

My company started this initiative called β€œPour on the Praise”. Does anyone know what this means? It seems like a disgusting name to me because Praise is really close the word raise, and we all know that pours do NOT deserve raises. I worked hard and got my share, these pours deserve neither praise or raises for their despicable pour mindset. Anyway Thanks guys for letting me vent!

Employee Recognition?

Whats the best way to go about recognizing an employee for their help? Do employees get notified if someone says good things about them and get an award/bonus for recognition? Anything specific to say? I had an employee help me tremendously and I want to do what I can to help get them some recognition for how great they were.

Employee recognition AR! How is that possible??

I was recently viewing a video from Adobe about the future of AR and at the 3-min mark, it shows a type of "overlay" AR that displays an employee's name.

https://youtu.be/IutVq6cPBX0

As someone that works in HR, I'm curious about this particular functionality of AR and how it would work.

Is the AR somehow associated with each employee?

What exactly could be each employee's unique identifier that triggers the AR to generate their specific name?

Would an "in-house" corporate AR app be required to view each employee's name?

I'm new to AR but am definitely curious how it could be applied in a corporate setting.

I appreciate all feedback.

Thank you!

It's a little pricey. I would be so appreciative if any of you could recommend any other platforms that might be good to check out that resembles or is like Kazoo?

Behavioral Economics and Employee Recognition

I am working on implementing a global employee recognition program. This program will utilize points instead of displaying a local currency for the awards received by each person. The points can be reimbursed online in a shopping experience to choose from a variety of gift cards.

What I'm struggling with is how using points "feels" different when being recognized, instead of receiving the awards in my local currency (redemption being the same).

TLDR: Looking to the collective knowledge on how to explain why using points drives more positive feelings of being thanked in a recognition program.

Employee recognition

So I've been a salaried manager for about 2 months now, so as a coach/ops I'm starting a recognition program basically employee of the month kind of thing for each of my 5 areas. I need good ideas for what I can give the chosen associates as a recognition package.

Gift card ? Lunch from their place of choice ? Certificate? Plaque? Combination?

I plan on having concrete reasons and examples of how they earned it but I also want them to feel like it's more than just a paper that says "atta boy"

Ideas for blood bank employee recognition themes??

In my small blood bank department we do a "spirit box" where we put in someone's name if they've done something nice/helpful for us and each quarter the winner gets to pick a department lunch/dinner. However, no one knows why their names are being put in, and if you don't win you don't know if anyone put in your name at all :(. A couple of us would like to revamp this process by making post-it size pieces of paper for you to explain why you are recognizing someone. Then we will post them at the end of the quarter so people can all see the nice things people have said about them. In one of my non-CLS jobs that dealt with vaccines we did something like this and called it "Booster Shots" which was just really clever and cute. What kind of name/theme could we come up with for this that would be related to blood bank? or at least lab?

Employee Recognition Ideas

Hi all! Recently I’ve been given the responsibility to come up with ideas for employee recognition. I run the marketing for a Small AV company with 30 people on staff.

I’m concerned things may come off as cheesy and I want to stay away from β€œWall of Fame” and generic ideas like that...which are great and all but I don’t think they make an actual difference in making an employee feel valuable.

Some ideas I would think that could be good are friendly competition ideas, and events. But as far as making an employee feel good about their work I’m a little lost.

We already do an β€œemployee highlight” and recognize those who earn certifications and such.

What are some good ideas for employee recognition that you may do at your company?

Why You Need an Employee Reward and Recognition Program That Works

Your employees are highly compensated. Your benefits package is well-balanced. Perhaps you have a monthly or annual recognition program, such as Employee of the Month.

Nonetheless, your business is probably less competitive and, as a result, less successful than it could be.

Why?

Because meaningful employee appreciation leads to increased productivity, better staff retention, and overall success, according to a study.

Tom Rath and Donald O. Clifton, in a global study of 10,000 organizations found that employees who "get regular recognition and appreciation" are more engaged, productive, customer-oriented, and likely to stay with their employer.

In other words, a company that acknowledges and promotes excellence is more likely to receive outstanding work from its employees as well as attract and keep more exceptional people.

What is meaningful recognition?

We've all had the experience of being praised for something that didn't feel like praise at all. Perhaps it was provided far too late, perhaps it was insincere, perhaps it had nothing to do with the work we accomplished. Bad praise is often worse than no praise at all. When it comes to developing your employee appreciation program, don't fall into that mistake.

The following are some criteria for effective praise and recognition:

  • Specific: The greatest method to demonstrate that you are paying attention to what your colleagues are doing is to single out a specific action or deliverable for appreciation. The phrase "you're doing a fantastic job" is so broad that it's nearly meaningless.
  • Timely: Now what is the finest time to acknowledge a job well done? If at all possible, acknowledgment should be delivered within 48 hours.
  • Nontrivial: A hardworking worker does not come to work every day and stays late in order to be noticed for his or her good looks or ping-pong skills. They want to be acknowledged for the abilities they bring to work and the value they add to the company.
  • Public: "Praise in public, reprimand in private", as the saying goes. Praise that specifically names an employee has a stronger impact on the receiver while also improving overall morale. It conveys the message that there is a place where excellence is valued and rewarded.
  • Tied to rewards: Money, movie tickets, gift cards, and other tangible items are frequently used to demonstrate effective acknowledgment. It's a terrific method to show that your w
