Dotterels, dogs and cunts at Bethells beach.
Among your usual array of kiwis at Bethells this Saturday afternoon was your disappointingly everpresent asshole dog owner. While the majority of people including the elderly and some kids manage to keep their dogs on a lead in the dotterell nesting area and dispite multiple clear signs explaining dogs can be off lead a 2 minute wander away + that these birds are very rare, 2 or 3 useless assholes seemed to think letting their dogs hoon in the sand dunes and the full length, both sides of the creek was a good laugh.
If this is you, please no thankyou. If you see people doing things that disrespect the land feel free to politely ask them about their choices.
