That surprised him.
- I've always believed that people hated me on the pitch.
Meet the national team defender in a big interview.
Pontus Jansson is back home in MalmΓΆ again since about a week.
He's completed yet another session with MFF when Sportbladet gets a chat with the national team defender.
- Very fun to play football again after a whole year of running in Leeds. Fun to play small technical exercises, he says.
Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa is well known for his long, hard training sessions.
The day before it was made official that Bielsa is staying in Leeds one more year despite the rough finish to the season where the team for a long time was looking to take one of the two promotions to the Premier League but fell back after a weak finish and was thereafter eliminated in the playoff-semifinal against Derby.
- For me it was expected that he wanted to continue. When things turned out the way they did you felt that the wanted to finish it in a better way.
What are your thoughts on that?
- My development under Bielsa has been fantastic and I know how much he cares about me. They way I developed as a player, as a person and how i train, sleep and eats... it's been an enourmous development and it's pretty much all thanks to him.
- Of course it's been tough and many long training sessions. But that's something you'll have to endure because what he has done with our team has been fantastic.
"An enourmous blow mentally"
But the end of the season, when Jansson was injured and missed the playoff-games against Aston Villa, was a big shock.
- That was an enourmous blow mentally. Everything happened so fast. Ten positive months was changed in a half. It all ended so absurdly, says Jansson and looks to be sick just thinking about the debacle.
Jansson has been dreaming about the Premier League for a long time.
- Now you'll have to wait another year, it looks like.
That is if he doesn't get sold to a Premier League-club. The 28-year old has three years left on his contract with Leeds.

Both sides intent on expanding at the expense of the other, skirmishes escalated to warfare within a two year period. As the Urapi had mostly migrated away, the Despot sought a new source of manpower for the ranks of the Immortals, and the Persians would do nicely. The Persians were fierce warriors, skilled with the bow and sword, and it took over a decade for Lydia to finally reach their capital at Trapezus.
Instead of sacking the city and finally driving off the Persians as countless other peoples had before, the Despot allowed them to persevere as a client Kingdom, requiring the Shah only to kneel at his feet. While this was accomplished, it became apparent to anyone who paid attention that Pontus was a Lydian subject in name alone. Far too distant from the capital on the Great Narrows, the Shahs of Pontus acted essentially independently and would represent the farthest extent the Despot's authority could reach. The one benefit to both Kingdoms was the extension of the royal trade network, and a new supply of willing Immortals to serve as the Despot's private army. So many of them in fact that they would begin to acquire officer positions and land in other parts f the kingdom. The first domino was fallen.
Isnβt this the same organization that has been in the news for raping and molesting young children? My mind is just blown right now.
