Hashish fields between Faraya and Deir Al Ahmar
OK, so I was on vacation about a week ago in Lebanon and loved the almost biblical landscape around Deir Al Ahmar. In order to get to Deir Al Ahmar and Ouion Ourghoush, we passed Faraya and passed a few villages before the checkpoint of Deir Al Ahmar. Now to my observation.. The amazing hashish fields that are grown right next to the road! And some of the fields are enormously large with no apparent intention or effort to hide them from plain sight. By checking google maps it looks like it was around Chlifa or Boudai. Does the police not crack down on the owners? From what I have heard it varies from year to year on how they deal with this. Would be interesting to hear your input on this.
