How well can Greeks understand the Cyrillic script?
Being that the Cyrillic alphabet was heavily influenced by the Greek alphabet, how well can Greeks (or from your personal account) understand the Cyrillic script?
EDIT: What I meant by "understand" is it easy for you to read?

What are you guys taught about the origin of the Cyrillic script?
I'm coming off a tread in /rAskBalkans , where people were asked about typical stereotypes foreigners have on their countries. A lot of my fellow Bulgarians answered that one of the most common were the comments regarding the alphabet, confusing it with Russian.
This brought me here to ask: what are you guys taught/know about the Cyrillic script and were you aware it was created in the First Bulgarian Empire?
P.S. Bonus question: same, but for the origin of the title "Tsar"

This is a script i've created for the low german language, but it can also be used for the standart-german language. It is mostly for phonetic writing and is inspired by the latin, gothic and cyrillic alphabet. Maybe you can give me tips to improve it.

How well do you understand the Cyrillic script?
Have you ever come in contact with it? How well do you understand the Cyrillic script? What is the hardest part in understanding it, for you personally? Of course, this questions are mainly for those peoples that don't use Cyrillic. I would mostly like to hear from Albanians (primarly from Macedonia/Kosovo) and Greeks.
Some context: It is a writing system for various languages across Eurasia, but in the Balkans it is the national script of Bulgaria and N. Macedonia, however, according to Wikipedia, it is co-official in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia. Cyrillic was derived from the Greek uncial script, and additional letters were used for sounds of the Old Church Slavonic that were not found in Greek. The Cyrillic script replaced the Glagolitic script. In the 18th century, the script used in Russia was heavily reformed by Peter the Great, when it became closer to the Latin alphabet.

I propose that we adopt this use to the Latin alphabet in the word βMinionβ, using βMiniκ©nβ when referring to a one-eyed Minion, and βMiniκnβ when referring to a two-eyed Minion. In this essay, I will

What's a good way to precede after learning the Cyrillic script?
I already learned Cyrillic script )the hard and soft signs are a bit confusing) and I've learned a few basic greetings. I've been thinking about learning numbers, how to say I want, and things like that, and try to tackle basic grammar. What resources are good for me to use for Russian that are free? Also, what are some creative methods to learning Russian that have worked for you?

Since many Balkan languages are so similar, just some written in the Latin alphabet and others in Cyrillic, how common is it for people in your country to be able to read the other script?
Basically what the title says: it seems like you guys are exposed to each other's languages pretty often so how common is it for people in your country to be able to read (though not necessarily understand 100%) the other script? E.g. would the average Bulgarian be able to read/decipher the Latin script (even if they don't understand all of the words)? Those who speak Croatian read/decipher Cyrillic?

Uzbeks and Turkmens: Do you like your current writing system more than cyrillic and/or find it to be more useful?

All: Would you rather prefer some other option? (Latin but different, Arabic, etc).

Kazakhstan to change from Cyrillic to Latin alphabet - The Kazakh language will change from Cyrillic to Latin script as part of a modernization and development effort. The move is also viewed as an attempt to distance the language from Russian and promote nationalism.

TIL that Cyrillic (the alphabet used to write Russian) wasn't created by Greek monks Cyrill and Methodius. They created the Glagolitic script. A disciple of theirs created Cyrillic with a few Glagolitic letters.
