A list of puns related to "Cymbal Stand"
Here is my current setup:
I'm planning to add a china trash cymbal to it (probably to the right of my floor tom); but I'm not sure to use a regular stand or a boom cymbal stand.
(Everything I know about drums I know just through playing and listening to others; I've never had a formal lesson, so these kinds of things are somewhat new to me)
I already have a regular stand for my crash and a boom cymbal stand for my ride; but the way my ride is set up at the moment (between the tom and floor tom) there is no place for a third tom (which is laying on the ground in the bottom right of the picture), which I'd actually love to have. I just dislike having my ride up higher, but I'm willing to put my ride a little higher so I can put a third tom in there.
I have been tinkering with the boom cymbal stand of my ride, and it seems I can just sort of use it as a regular stand if I just point the 'arm' straight up and then attach my extra tom to it.
But the question is then if I should get another regular cymbal stand, use it for the ride and attach a tom to it and use the boom cymbal stand for the china cymbal; or get another boom cymbal stand for the china cymbal as well?
Thanks in advance!
Trying to set up my kit and im struggling with the ride cymbal ... specifically getting it out of the way of the arm holding the cymbal that extends from the stand. The boom arm I believe it is called.
Do you configure it so the cymbals completely clears the arm at its sharpest angle? Like if you crashed it abunch and it swings up and down, at its sharpest angle possible it still clears? Or do you set it up in a way that if it "rotated" as sharply as it could it would hit the arm, and you are just confident that your playing won't result in that?
Any insight is appreciated as I couldn't find any videos on this subject. Thank you.
Because if i setup It too tight the cymbal can't move when I hit it, if I setup it too loose it tightens while I play
In the case it needs to be loosen, how do I maintain it like that? Because when I play it gets tighten
I am looking into going all DW hardware. As of right now, I have a 5000 series hi-hat stand and a 9000 series pedal. Is it worth the extra money in terms of the stands to get the 9000 or is 5000 just fine? What is truly the difference?
I'm looking to upgrade my cymbal stands from my PDP starter stands. Looking for recommendations!
I play a 22" ride, and have a couple 19" crashes. I'm already using the Tama Iron Cobra 605 hi hat stand and love it.

Most people, when they look at one of these, will think it's just a cymbal stand.
But many tape music composers will look, and they'll see a solution to a certain problem: big tape loops.
All the way back at the first times I used MTSU's electronics studio, there was a cymbal stand in there that had a 7" plastic reel where the cymbal should be. And since it IS a cymbal stand, it can be tilted and reoriented in lots of ways that can deal with any sort of tape transport...even angled transports like you see in some very desirable Sony machines.
Yeah, these work just about perfectly. I say just about because, tbh, you should have TWO like that...then you'll be ready for any sort of tape mayhem, even the ability to manage some huge loops such as ones that Hainbach uses in his semi-installation works.
I've been searching the internet, but somehow I cant seem to find the right attachment.
I got a beginner drum kit and I'd like to attach one of my toms to a cymbal stand. However, I cant find the right attachment.
The tom is currently connected to the bass drum with a 'standard' L shaped tube/rod. The pole literally goes in the bass drum and the other side into the tom itself.
But when I try to find an attachment I see people connecting their Tom with a L rod. But, my tom doesnt have the proper fitting to put it on the L rod.
Help is very much appreciated, thank you! :)
I recently have started noticing that my hi hat top cymbal will start to fall down after I hit it couple of times and when put it back in place it will fall down again after couple of minutes. Is it because of the stand or cymbals weight?
Hey r/Rockband, Iβve been wanting to play with all three cymbals, but I never picked up the pro kit and have only gotten a few RB2 cymbal expansions. This has left me with plenty of cymbals, but I havenβt found a suitable method of setting up the third cymbal, due to not having the specific third-cymbal stand from the pro kit (and donβt particularly want to drop $200-$300 on a full pro expansion just for a single part).
Has anyone tried any alternate methods? Whatβs worked for you?
Iβm getting an 18β wuhan China and I need an affordable stand to go with it preferably under Β£30
