A list of puns related to "Curriculum For Excellence"
What makes them so well known? What do BMWs or Volkswagens or others do differently from non German car brands?

So as the title says. I work at a private school, and our curriculum is about 10 years old. This is my first year, and our principal expected us to be able to map out exactly what and how every teacher should teach science from K-8 in about 2 hours. No, she has never worked in education. What other ridiculous tasks have you been assigned recently?
Hey everyone, I just finished the Buried Dagger, and felt compelled to share what I recognized to be some serious quality beneath the story of Mortarionβs fall to Nurgle. DISCLAIMER: this is in no way a review of Swallowβs writing, which I thought was fairly solid. Mild spoilers ahead:
1: Mortarion perfectly fulfills the three elements of Greek Tragedy. Aristotle said that the perfect tragedy had three components: (1) a hero who is neither good nor evil, whose position is relatable to the audience, but he has some characteristic that makes him βsuperior,β (such as being born from a god, being a king, etc.); (2) a fatal flaw, such as hubris, that is not outright condemnable, but is integral to their character and contributes to their plight; and (3) a plight that is ultimately the result of chance more than the heroβs flaw or poor judgment. The heroβs mistake can have a causal relationship, but it must be clear that his suffering was ultimately determined by things that happened to him beyond his control. Because of who he was, he was bound to fail.
Looking at Mortarionβs story, it fits these qualities to a tee. He certainly isnβt βgood,β but heβs not evil either, as Typhon could be considered to be. He saw the temptation to let humans suffer multiple times, but never gave into that sort of wickedness. He genuinely cares about his sons, too. His stubbornness and independence are certainly flaws; they lead him to punish himself and others in self destructive ways, such as his insistence on rebelling against the emperor and in fighting Necare. However, these flaws are understandable given his upbringing, and we can understand why Mortarion resents the Emperor. It wasnβt just βkill-stealing;β the Emperor put him in an impossible position: succeed in this impossible position or I take over your planet. And if Mortarion didnβt accept the challenge in front of so many of his people, his toughness and thus his authority would have been destroyed. The same thing happens in the warp: we canβt blame Mortarion for not killing Typhon, his best friend and confidant, despite his suspicions. Moreover, it wouldnβt have helpedβTyphonβs slaughter of the navigators ensured that Mortarion needed Typhon to leave the warp.
2: Mortarionβs Greek Tragedy is actually amplified three-fold, not just one of Nurgleβs sacred numbers but also representative of the godβs theme of birth, death, and rebirth. The end of Swallowβs book depicts Mortarionβs submission to the Emperor and Nurgl
... keep reading on reddit β‘One year ago today I launched Hey Listen Games. It's a website dedicated to providing free lesson plans and curriculum for teachers interested in teaching with video games. Here is post I made reflecting on the past year of the website.
I tend to post in several of the education subreddits whenever I add new resources to Hey Listen Games and so many of you have been nothing but supportive. I just wanted to thank all of you for reading my new posts/lessons, providing feedback, and for those of you who have gone on to try teaching with some of my lessons. Hopefully some of you find something useful!
For those who use the CFAI Curriculum as opposed to Schweser:
How many pages per hour did you find yourself reading?
My goal has been to be able to work through 20 pages an hour, and realistically Iβve only been hitting about 12-14.
Who has tips on focusing/getting through the material without reading the same paragraph 5 times?
It felt great to receive the email; I truly feel valued here as a student, and Iβm definitely going to be framing the hard copy in my room, haha!
I'm a Maths teacher in Brisbane and I teach all my classes using blended learning. Simply put, when I teach new content, I make a video to share with my kids. I've been doing this for the last 5 years or so, which means I've made a lot of videos.
Obviously, with the move to online learning for at least the first 5 weeks of term, this has put me in a unique position to help out some students, parents and teachers who might be struggling to cope with learning from home. This has exacerbated the already difficult task of these students being the first cohort through the new senior syllabus.
I've spent the last week or so doing my very best, with my limited website building abilities, to make a home for my maths videos that is easy for students, teachers and parents to navigate.

Please share with anyone you think might be able to use this resource. I'll be continually updating it as I continue to teach my own classes.
So saw the new patch notes for the Super Test and just wanted to confirm the following:
Is there only 4 daily missions that you can complete per day? Are you able to complete more than this?
Reason why I ask is that it appears that you need 45 points to reclaim the main reward, and each mission only gives you one point. So 4 points a day, is almost 12 days worth of missions.
I feel like this is kind of a set back to what we have currently, as it is currently limited to the number of games played, without any daily focused commitment to ensure your completing your missions.
Anyone know if you are able to complete more than the 4 allocated missions per day? (3 plus the unlockable one)
Im using Khan Academy for math right now but im looking for what you guys recommend for other subjects like Reading/Writing, critical thinking, science, and history
Thanks in advance
Many or most pop-ups, auto-playing videos, infinite scrolling and tons (tons!!) of other βfeaturesβ common today on websites represent poor design. They exist for economic reasons, whether to encourage higher βengagementβ, more βclicksβ, or sometimes to protect copyright. In this, principles of excellence in UX are willfully compromised.
Can the extent of this UX-economic-compromise be quantified or its extent described with greater precision? Iβm sure Iβm not the first person to wonder, and maybe there are existing studies? Is there also existing discussion on what Web UX (in general, en masse) would look like unadulterated?
Fees ranging from $40-80 and black belt testing fees ranging from $300-$1000
I used to believe this was the norm until I started to cross train and I learned that
other systems simply promote you off of merit without fees
Would you rather pay higher monthly dues $150-250 / month and simply get promoted when your coach accesses you to be a certain level or when your skill is undeniable from merit from good performance.
Or do you enjoy the system where the monthly fees are slightly lower but they have extra fees attached to belts and the memorization of curriculum?
