A list of puns related to "Cricket Statistics"
Is there a website where you can query cricket statistics by asking a question as a human would, and get an answer? For example "What are the highest successful run chases against India in tests?"
I would like to find a graph/the statistics for every change in the, specifically, 'Number One position in Test Bowling/Batting Rankings'.
You can use 'Reliance' to see the ranking history of any single player (90% accurate), but I'd like to find the graph of specific changes. Ie; There will be periods of years where one bowler stays at number one (Steyn), and then times where it flip flops a lot (the last two years or so in Test Batting Rankings).
One of the most infuriating things about cricket stats is there is no database that easy to research domestic cricket. ESPNcricinfo's design made me think they are purposefully blocking me from researching what players were doing outside international cricket. and Cricket Archive is charging me a subscription that way too expensive. (I can't comprehend why should I pay five dollars for just watching some cricket stats.) Is there any way that I can extensively learn and binging to domestic cricket records while also easy to access?
Hey everyone!
I have developed an android application for tracking the statistics from all the cricket matches you play. You simply type in your scores (with the bat and ball) and this app will automatically calculate your career statistics like average, strike-rate, economy, etc. It's a nice way to have all your scores (and statistics) in one place and I hope some of you find it useful.
Please feel free to give any feedback or suggestions on how to improve the app further.

Hello Guys, I am planning to build a sports stats application starting with cricket[ should be up in a month]. I am reaching out to this sub to get some interesting queries.
E.g: Number of centuries scored by a player against a team each year. Number of a batsman got out against bowler.
Your help is appreciated.
Something that is yet to be commonplace is a simple measure of batting performance in terms of overall contribution. Yes, whilst batting average and strike rate are often used to show the run making capability or the rate of run accumulation respectively there has been little effort made to combine these two statistics to show the overall contribution to the batting team. This idea is centrally used in baseball in the form of On-base plus slugging, a combination of On-base percentage and Slugging Percentage. Introducing batting average plus runs per ball batting average as a straight forward method to rectify this simple statistical problem.
#Runs per ball batting average The runs per ball batting average (or RBBA for short) is quite simply one's batting average (total runs/total wickets) multiplied by the number of runs they earn every ball (the strike rate/100 or total runs / total balls). This is thus a measure of a batsman's ability to collect runs quickly. Each run earned at 2 runs per ball (a strike rate of 200) by this metric is twice as large each run earned at 1 run per ball (a strike rate of 100). This is analogous to the slugging percentage in baseball.
#Batting Average plus Runs per ball Batting Average Of course just the runs per ball batting average does not sufficiently reflect overall batting contribution as it largely overemphasises the effect of a small number of runs earned at a high strike rate. 15 runs from 5 balls gives you an RBBA of 45, most definitely a lower overall batting contribution than a run per ball 45, yielding the same figure. By adding the batting average to the run per ball batting average you thus increase the importance of accumulating runs. I would say this is an appropriate measure to use in 50 over cricket as the rate you get runs can be said to be just as important as the rate in which you get runs in. As an example a run per ball century would return a BA + RBBA value of 200, which is a similar overall impact as 66 from 33 balls.
#Batting average + 2 Run per ball batting averages For t20 cricket the rate you get runs in is more important than the runs you get. To adjust for this I suggest using 2 RBBAs in the equation giving the run per ball batting average twice the weighting in the equation, whilst still retaining the importance of run accumulati

Hey fellas, so my AP Stats class requires me to do a statistics project and I wanted to do something from the wide data available in the cricketing world.
Any suggestions as to what I should do?

The ODIS are rated second with 2.7 Million viewers per match and surprisingly the T20s are last with just 1.5 million viewers per match. The Viewership statistics also clearly suggest Cricket as a second most popular sport in South africa as 14 million people saw cricket in 2014 compared to 13 million for Rugby and 19 million for Soccer, Since SA rugby team has declined over the years , while the proteas have continued to dominate it is still safe to assume that despite these statistics being from 2014 , the position of the cricket in country has only been stronger securing the 2nd place on popularity charts. Guys, I'm looking for a cricket database and statistics website with the following criteria:
Hi everyone, I am a Maths teacher and am creating an assignment that focuses on Statistics specifically bi-variate data (comparing 2 different variables). I am a huge fan of cricket and thought that it could be a great sport to base the assignment on.
The gist of the task will be getting the students to find a correlation between 2 different variables in cricket. I want it to be pretty open ended so I was hoping to find a website that is relatively easy to use (easy enough for 17 year olds to use) and that displays a range of different statistics. Another part of the task could compare the average of something or a variable over a certain period of time.
At the moment ESPNcricketinfo seems like my best option but I can't really compare the stats I would like to.
An example of what I am looking for would be
- Batting order position compared to batting average
- Height of player compared to batting/bowling average
- Average scored at home vs away
- Change in average Total ODI score over 20 years
The stats don't have to be exactly like this but as the task if about finding a correlation it would be great if the two variables were related in someway.
Thanks!
Hey /r/cricket!
I wanted to share a little tool I made to dynamically explore cricket statistics: cricketanalytics.io
Cricinfo's Statsguru is awesome for its depth of statistics, but getting what you want can be a bit cumbersome. So I made (what I think is) a better interface to quickly explore cricket statistics.
It encompasses all ODI and Test stats up until the start of the World Cup yesterday (these will be updated shortly). Here's how to get started:
Keep in mind this is a very early alpha version that I whipped up over the last few days. It'll probably break, you might see some weird data and who know's what else might go wrong. Let me know in the comments here how you get on, what else you'd like to see, what you broke, what you like, what you hate etc etc.

I set out to have a beautiful data visualization for my (absolutely minimum) cricket stats I have personally for club cricket. To my surprise, I did not find anything online for inspiration or idea or anything.
The only thing which was close was http://jamesanderson613.com/
Do anybody know of any projects of data visualization for cricket stats. Perhaps some open source project if possible.
Can any one with cricket analytics expertise help out with this one? How do you get started? What are the databases to use? Doesn't seem like statsguru is an open database to query from. How do the pros do it? Thanks.
A place to submit any interesting cricket stats and scorecards.

I was amazed when I first saw this - The total number of runs in the 2011 Cricket world cup was exactly the same as the total number of runs in the 2007 version. Proof - http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=2;filter=advanced;orderby=runs;template=results;trophy=12;type=aggregate;view=series
