A list of puns related to "Cornell University College Of Engineering"
My school is full IB so my entire HS gpa is around 6.3-6.5.
I have decent extracirrculars: I started a fashion company, won a few national level competitions, and did a lot of service learning extracirrculars like Microloans and Community service.
My sat is 1550 and Iβm taking the ACT and Iβm predicting around 34-36 there. I think Iβll get 800 for SAT Maths II, 760-800 for Physics, and 760-800 for Chemistry.
I am an Asian international male.
I have a close relationship with my math teacher so I think Iβll get a good LOR. Chemistry and Physics I have okay relationships with and my Econ teacher also likes me I guess π€·ββοΈ?
I took pretty rigorous classes I guess. Hl: Math 7, Chem 6-7, Physics 6 SL: French 6, English 5, EcoN 6
Help a smol junior boi out! Thanks ahead of time! π
this was JUST CHANGED and is effective immediately for applicants of the Class of 2024! They do encourage sending test scores if you feel they will strengthen your application, but your application "will not be disadvantaged in the review process" (quoting from the email that was sent out). Here is the link to Cornell's website for further reassurance. Good luck with your applications everyone!

Extracurriculars:
probably forgetting a few more but I'll let you guys judge off what I have so far
I called the undergraduate office and the representative told me that it's unlikely that I'll be accepted since people have already been contacted for admission. But Cornell's engineering website doesn't have any information about them resorting to the waitlist yet, and I haven't found any waitlist acceptance posts on Reddit or CC.

I spent the last 72 hours in Cornell with some of the warmest people Iβve spent time with in a while. The one girl knew everyone on campus. Everyone seemed like friends, and everyone was so friendly and nice. It really really hurts knowing I missed out on that college experience by going to a tiny school ten minutes from my home.
There were no parties, no residence, no student life, and no memories. I can count on a single finger how many people I still talk to from college. I wish I could go back in time and do it again.
Indulging in a dangerous hypothetical for a sec, I think Iβd go to the school deep in the city after college, and live downtown. I didnβt because it was so expensive by comparison and I didnβt want my parents to pay more. Iβve got a track record for putting everyone before myself. I never care. But this time I know I made a keystone mistake.
I'm twenty four now with a stable job and I know I can't go back in time. And I'm sad.
Can someone confirm? Seems benign compared to other things we have seen.....but still..

Went to international school. I fulfilled all Community Service hours as requested for each year.
White male, Central Asian/Persian, SAT 1280 superscored, 28 ACT superscored, no subject SATs
9th grade: 3.49 GPA UW, 3 engineering-related ECs, Student Council (no leadership)
10th grade: 3.02 GPA UW, 1 academic EC (with a trip overseas), 1 engineering EC, Student Council, no leadership, 1 AP class (got a 3 in World History :( )
11th grade: 3.39 GPA Weighted, 1 sports EC (cheerleading), 2 APs (Chem and Capstone, got a 3 for Capstone, 2 for Chem), Student Advocacy Forum (no leadership available for anyone, basically more rigorous and higher in "prestige" than Student Council),
12th grade: 3.88 GPA Weighted, 2 engineering ECs (same as 9th grade), no sports, community service hours are in progress, 6 APs (Calc AB, Capstone 2, English Lit, Physics II, Spanish, Stats), Student Advocacy Forum,
Total, by the year's end: 80 CS hours, 9 APs, 1280 SAT, 28 ACT, 12 ECs.
So I know there's a megathread for this, but I already posted there, and I still don't know what to do. I'm a student in the Philadelphia area, and I got no financial aid to either school. My parents said they would support me either way, but they can't afford to pay full tuition at Cornell. They would pay now, but I would need to pay them back 50,000 at some point. I worked extremely hard to get accepted to a T20, but I feel like I should really choose Georgia Tech even though I like Cornell slightly better. Any advice?

Common App: Talks about spending time with Patients and doctors changed my perspective on life and made me realize that my purpose is to help people without expecting a result back. And I talk about a emotional experience with a patient that changed my life.
What's the difference between these two?
Which one is the one that people usually go?
I'm a CS major and I wonder if I need to go to both.
