A list of puns related to "Corax"
I just read that big E left Corax on his planet to finish his quest/rebellion as only then could he lead his legion.
What the hell? Could the Emperor not do that with Angron or Mortarion? I think it's fair to say that him not allowing either of them to deliver the retribution they felt compelled to is a major point in favor of them turning traitors.
Mortarion was the 14th and Corvus the 19th to be found, pretty close all things considered. Did the Emperor just go like "Well maybe I should try another way for the third son who wants to finish his fight"?
For context, I'm plowing through the many many 40k and HH books backlog I have, and currently reading Corax, book 40 in the HH series.
I thought the following bit, where Corax explains a little about himself, and about the Emperor (from his PoV anyway) to a techpriest whom believes that the primarchs are merely warlords and generals, and found it quite interesting.
" 'And what do you build, Lord primarch?' Loriark's dark eyes fixed Corax with a long stare. 'If Horus had not turned, what would your legacy have been, if not a trail of conquered worlds, multitude of widowed and orphaned people?'
'I build hope, in the hearts of men and women. I show them that from the Long Night we can emerge into enlightenment. I never persecuted those I conquered and I never refused a surrender sincerely offered. I have shed the blood of the guilty and the innocent, laid waste to civilisations for the cause of the Emperor, but I never brought ruin needlessly. Each death was laid as a sacrifice to a better future, a life free from suppression and tyranny.'
'Would not a tyrant claim the same? No man believes himself to do wrong.'
'No tyrant would be willing to give up his power once all enemies were thwarted. I was prepared for just such an eventuality.'
'I speak not of you, but the Emperor. What makes his vision of the galaxy any purer than that of Horus, or yours, and the Mechanicum's? You may have been the weapon the Emperor used against a galaxy of foes, but it was his power that wielded you, unleashed your legion against those that opposed him.'
Again Corax was forced to think for a moment, to formulate his reply so that a knot of instinct and simple knowing could be unravelled into something more reasoned.
'The Emperor is all the things he wishes to be. He has been both tyrannical and compassionate, merciless and merciful. But I have seen into him, and I have touched minds with him in a way no other can. And at the core of what others see is a man of humility and wisdom and learning. He is a man driven by the rational. A tyrant craves domination, but the Emperor carries his power like a burden, the responsibility for all of humanity on his shoulders. He is everything he must be, not out of desire, but from duty and necessity.'
Loriark said nothing, and it was impossible to know whether he believed Corax or not. Talk of the Emperor always left Corax feeling grateful and humbled. Grateful for the gene-father that had created him. Humbled by th
... keep reading on reddit β‘I reading about the raven guard through the wiki ( also wow they really dont get alot of love like the other legions) and realized that they are supposed to be like freedom fighters but they are fighting for the most brutal regime in the galaxy.
In the story it says that he was stripped of his human form granted from the Emperor and became his truly warp-self. It is similar to what happened to >! Guilliman during the plague war in the garden of nurgle!< or it isn't the same thing?
I'm trying out some low level abyssals in a corax fit made for exotic tranquil filaments. However, I'm noticing that they cost way more than the gamma ones. A gamma one costs around 12k, and an exotic one costs around 190k. I know I can do the exotic sites way faster because of the kinetic boost, but it just costs so much more. Is it even worth it to run exotics? 190k seems small but remember I'm doing T0's so its not such a small number to me. Why are the gamma ones so much cheaper? Do they give less loost? Is the ~350k penalty per site with exotics worth the speed? Which should I run?
Currently reading the first corax book of the horus heresy and corax really seems like a good leader and a pretty sympathetic guy for a Primarch, especially compared to how most of his brothers are portrait. He is nice to his legion, respectful to his brother Dorn, very respectful to the costodes and seems to have his moral compass pretty much in order. Is he generally a more liked primarch or am I up for a disappointment down the road of the Heresy?
Hey,
During the heresy Corax had access to the Emperor's knowledge about the making of Astartes. He also had access to the "primarch soupe" from which big E created the genome of the primarchs.
With those two things, he was able to :
With the knowledge imparted to him, he also states that the Emperor could have created Astartes from scratch if I remember correctly (vat grown Astartes, clones, that sort of thing).
But to use that knowledge he needed the soup. And of course, to make things short, his soup got corrupted by demon blood and the next batches of recruits were a catastrophe.
In the end he did find that it was sabotage, so he knows that his process worked (it worked fine on the first batch of raptors).
Now fast forward 10k years, Corax is in the eye somewhere. He's apparently embraced his inner warp beast and is having fun killing word bearers.
In the mean time, Mister Cawl has been given by big Bob the sangprimus portum that, if I understand correctly, contains... primarch soup.
It means that should he come back, he would have access to the necessary ingredients to manufacture Astartes by the thousands. Imagine : you choose only the recruits that have the best chance at Astartes conversion and then you industrialize Astartes creation. That's not even considering vat grown Astartes.
Ok I know that hawk boy is a bit traumatized by this, with the "never again" and all, but he could manufacture Astartes from other genelines than his. That could be hugely useful if, for instance, there was a galaxy shattering warp storm, or the bulk of the Tyranids arriving soon, or a waaaagh of almost unprecedented proportions, etc.
He's had 10k years to cool down and get therapy (ok probably not easy to find a good therapist in the eye).
Do you think Corax could do it ? Do you think blue boy and M. Cawl would let him ?
Hi all. I am just wondering what other white you use as I am finding my Corax White to not be very good. It's for my Black Templars mainly to be honest. Thankyou
Iβve always had a soft spot for Corax and his sons but I havenβt been had the time to read much. Whatβre their best books?

So, it seems like I found a bug concerning Corvus Corax. Whenever you have an ability that lets you deal additional damage after attacking, for example Gorefather or Oath of Vengeance, you can get your stealth activated, without even using your ability.
To do that, you need to kill something with that damage, resulting in you getting stealthed. This surely needs to be addressed quickly, since Corvus is already in quite the comfortable spot without bugs.
His design and freedom fighters concept is badass, his story is compelling and the character himself is perhaps even more human than guiliman who was raised by nobility while corax lived, ate and grew up alongside regular folks like us...yet he always seems to pass under the radar (no pun intented) among the fandom
He was In the top 4 best duelist among his siblings he absolutly destroyed lorgar and had the upper hand against curze almost turning the tide of the battle In the loyalist favor
In 40k He is the Only loyalist alongside guilliman alive, currenly able and whooping ass Yet people focus more on a possible return of the lion, russ or rogal dorn
Actually in general how were the primarchs as dads
