Apollo 11 Pilot, Michael Collins has passed away today. While Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were on the moon, he was in the Command Module orbiting the moon for 28 hours, alone. Rest In Peace Michael Collins, you continue to inspire the younger generation to pursue a job in the space industry. 🚀

Astronaut Michael Collins has passed away today (April 28, 2021) at the age of 90. Collins had been battling cancer. He was the command module pilot for Apollo 11 as part of the three-man crew that first landed on the moon. West Point graduate Class of 1952 and retired as a Maj Gen in the Air Force.

Commander James McDivitt, Command Module Pilot David Scott, and Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweickart came back from the Apollo 9 mission, today, 52 years ago. During their flight it was the first time the CSM was separated from the LM, and than performed the docking manoeuvre after turning around.

I’m new here but I decided to build a L.E.S (launch escape system), it is a w.i.p and I’m a w.i.p pilot but it’s pretty cool, it’s useful when a rocket is out of fuel and you don’t have any other stages, you activate it and you can save your command module/pilot. v.redd.it/qzs7abw808i51
