My counselor has asked me what should she select as an answer for CommonApps: "In comparison with other college preparatory students at your school, the applicant's course selection is"
In my country, we have strictly given what courses will we have for all four years. We have no choice which classes to attend and which not. The problem is, that there is no select option to indicate that.
Did someone have the same problem? What did you select in the box? How should she indicate that in CommonApp?
I couldn't find a good and active reddit sub related to Accounting in Canada, so I'm sorry for posting here.
I'm nearly finishing my degree. My family have to move to Alberta because of work. I could go with them or stay here in BC. (Yes, I live with my parents, but I do help with finances.)
If I finish my degree here in BC, are the prep courses I've taken in college qualified for the prep courses in CPA Alberta?
If not, then does it mean I should move to Alberta, transfer my credits, and finish my degree there?
Are there differences between the CPA BC and CPA Alberta prep courses? I havent looked into much details about this, so I'm hoping someone here has a similar experience.

So I've been living in Japan for a long time already and lately I finally reached the conclusion that I don't want to go back to my mother country to study there so I decided to pursue my education here.
Things I want to know:
- Where did you went and how long was your course?
- How were the classmates/amount of work/teachers like?
- At the end of the course did you really got into a university?
- What was your Japanese level at the time?
I see lots of schools with preparatory courses but mostly seem to require at least a intermediate level and I'm at the most at N3 so I'm looking for one with Japanese classes for people who can't quite manage a Biology class all in Japanese yet + the other subjects. Also I live in Tokyo so information about schools around here would be better but anything counts!
Hi! I'm curious how much of the Special Warfare Preparatory Course in the pipeline focuses on teaching and improving skills. For example, can and do someone with mediocre swimming skills improve during the course to become a good and strong swimmer? Or in other words, is the course focused on teaching, training already competent people, or a mixture of both?
Some background on my particular situation: I'm an American currently working and living abroad. While I can comfortably exceed all of the other standards for the PAST, I'm not a particularly fast swimmer. I can be under the SWOE PAST swimming threshold that is now 15 minutes for 500 meters. The change from 12:30 to 15:00 actually makes me much more comfortable in being below the threshold, which means I tend to hover between 12 and 13 minutes, or laps of about 35-40 seconds in a 25 meter pool. I've been doing a standard sidestroke rather than freestyle and am currently trying to teach myself the combat sidestroke through Youtube videos and websites. I would love to take swimming lessons advanced lessons, but they are not available in English here (at least that I've found). I understand being a good swimmer is mostly a matter of technique, so I'm wondering if the SW Preparatory Course will indeed focus on teaching students technique.

I have passed the interview screening and obtained 2 LoA's for PhD research.
I am around N2 level of Japanese.
For my second choice university (Waseda) I was informed that a preparatory Japanese course was not necessary.
Though for my first choice (ICU) I was informed that a preparatory Japanese course was necessary.
I was wandering if MEXT is more likely to choose a University which states it is not necessary? Though ICU is slightly cheaper than Waseda, the prep course would make the total cost more expensive by about $5000.
Also, for anyone who has taken the prep course, is the facility nearby the university? Or at least in the same city?
I know these are probably difficult questions to answer but I was just hoping someone had some advice.

I recently noticed that the required Business Law courseοΌ BSEN 395 is one of the non-core preparatory courses for CPA. I finished the course last fall and "CR" the course. Will that affect my eligibility for CPA?

I'm looking to take the Academic Year off next year so 2021-2022 to learn European or Brazilian Portuguese. I wish to take a year long relatively intensive course in either Brazil or Portugal.

Hello, I started taking the preparatory courses for both physics and mathematics last Friday and I got to say I'm beginning to feel intimidated by them already. Dear CS seniors, may I know how much would the lack of a strong physics and mathematics foundation negatively affect me during my next 3.5 (or 4) years in NTU CS? Of course, I am going to try my best to close the knowledge gap between me and my JC counterparts...
Are there any online courses to take for pre med courses or atleast to cover some courses before joining med school ?

So I read a comment somewhere on reddit that said people who take preparatory courses cannot go into public accounting or something?
So I have a uni degree from a different degree and going into accounting now and want to know the best possible path but don't want to limit myself so anyone have anything to suggest regarding this? Also. I have no idea what the comment meant; what is public accounting license exactly and do I need it? For reference I want to work in either a big 4 or industry or something else but again don't want to limit myself.
Any suggestions?

Ive seen many Universities offering 1 year preparatory courses. Im going to take a gap year next year (September 2021) to learn a language and I was wondering does anyone have any experience with these and what they are like.
To give you an example of two:

Potentially will continue on studies after but I'm wondering is this a good use of time for learning a language for a year.
Still not 100% sure which language I desire to learn.
