A list of puns related to "Chemical Ionization"
FVC means "field-vectored craft," i.e., UFO(s).
We learned in Part 1:
Date: January 30, 1973
Location: Lexington, Alabama
Witnesses: Bill Rogers, APRO Field investigator, and two other unnamed individuals.
Description: Rogers went to Lexington to investigate reports of FVC in the area, which began a month prior on December 27, 1972. Rogers, along with two other members of the investigation team, observed a yellowish-orange-white light moving slowly above tree-top level.
>After about a minute, the object moved up about 40 feet, and they could see that it had a shape between a sphere and an egg (ellipsoidal). It then descended

Background: Selenium meters drag electrical current by opposing ends of the selenium metal creating a light sensitive material that conducts electricity to short electrical currents expanded by copper wire. Like a battery selenium metal “charges” coiled copper wire and magnets to make a “zeroed” needle to a certain frequency of limited motion with drag and pull (springs), a electrochemical reaction occurs when copper and selenium come in contact under light, electrical signals emerge from the copper contacts, but as this is a chemical reaction the contacts will deionize and corpse, same with the selenium metal. You will need to “reface” the copper and selenium to create again a reaction. Here is how..
Step one. Materials. Coca-Cola, ketchup, vinegar, baking soda, small plastic tray, Q-tips, And a pair of cheap latex gloves
Step two. Carefully disassemble the light meter or camera to get two copper plates and the “silver-green/yellow” metal plate. Mark a line with a screwdriver which way is out.
Step three. Place the selenium cell and the two opposing copper contacts in the small plastic tray, pour vinegar just enough to cover all three components. With a gloves pick up and wipe each piece with a dry q tip. Pour out the vinegar.
Step four. In the same or different clean tray pour a small amount of ketchup, (one tea spoon no more) and a 1-1 vinegar to baking soda ratio in to the ketchup mix. This should remove most if not all corrosion, Once you notice a more “silver” color to your selenium cell set it aside and dry with paper towels, scrub the copper contacts until they are as clean as a new penny.
Step five. Clean the tray and pour in a generous amount of cola cola leave them to sit for 2 minutes, flip once the two minutes are over, and another two minutes dry with a paper towel and wipe until an almost stainless steel look to the selenium and a new penny look to the copper contacts. If they are not clean repeat steps 3-5 again.
Step six. Reassemble the meter but do not let your skin touch the selenium or copper. Now zero correct the light meter and check with a light meter App, it is common to have a 0.1-0.3 EV difference,
Some meters are too far gone for repair and will need to be sanded with 3200 grit sandpaper and put through the process for ionization Good luck!
We are close to your location, your shuttle will arrive soon.
It was just him, a large metallic briefcase, and his luxury spinner in the dead of night.
They had told him to wait at this exact location, with a timeframe precise to a second.
A timeframe that dictated the shuttle to appear in 43 seconds, to the dot.
He took one final glance at the image hidden inside the medallion he wore. “Soon” he calmly whispered, “Soon…”
He’d thrown billions at every organization who had promised him a solution, scoured every planet of every system of the cluster, even ventured out to a handful of Xeno civilizations to see if they had an elixir for his predicament.
It never worked, every game-changing startup, every overpromising alien salesman, always to end in tragic failure, yet his desperation only increased with every successive failure, his drive piercing every dark corner of the cluster that his fortune could permit.
And it all led him to this, to the boogeymen.
He was not one to argue, for all the enigmatic messaging and cryptic information that the alien organization seemed so fond of, what they showed seemed lightyears ahead of anything he’d seen throughout his search.
Sure he was dealing with the boogeymen of the cluster, yet he’d dealt with far more insidious characters inside parliaments and offices than what he’d conversed with the mysterious beings.
He’d already deposited a hefty sum, not of money but one of goods. Exotic plants, animals, genetic data, cultural artefacts, the list could go on and on. Collectively it had already cost him a moon’s worth, yet it made sense. Why would an advanced alien organization want fiat money when priceless artefacts and near-extinct species were up on the discussion table?
The cost was set to only increase as they furthered neared completion of their work, yet that was acceptable, for it would once again bring meaning and purpose back to his now dull life.
He gazed at his platinum lined watch, precisely 43 seconds had just passed.
We have arrived
The alien shuttle seemingly emerged from the air itself, its matte black exterior revealing itself as the shuttle silently decelerated to a halt, only to hover a dozen meters before where he stood.
It reminded him of the cloaking technology his R&D department was working on for the military, though this version was the real tangible thing, unlike the never-ending sinkhole his project had become.

I was ultimately wondering if instead of taking spent nuclear waste and keeping it in pools or containing it in dry storage casks, would there be a way to force the spent radioactive uranium isotope react with another element or molecule in order to stabilize the uranium and make it not radioactive any more? Similar to how sodium is poisonous and chloride is poisonous but in making them react with each other they change and become stable.
"What is my punishment, your excellency."
Zakolo stood before the Stellarch of the Itiana cluster, a being of such nobility that no commoner was allowed to know his name, one whose action carried sway over billions, and clout in the grand conclave. That same being now gazed down at him, with a deep frown, yet all Zakolo could focus on was how... large the Stellarch was, in terms of pure width alone.
Around him sat members of the noble Keelopa family, more importantly, Ola Von Keelopa, who sat as if he were a pouting child, sporting several massive purple bruises masquerading across his grey skin.
Zakolo should've murdered the manchild for what he did.
"As a consequence for the assault and defamation of High Magistrate Keelopa's dearest son, you will be placed on a repentance crusade for your honour and status with the Mantle, a crusade under my personal command."
Part of Zakolo wanted only wanted to wrap his hands at the obese being before him, cleansing the room of the putrid Stellarch before him. The other part of him reminded that if he were to rid the Stellarch he'd only be lobotomized to serve as a tactical biomind for some far off royal official.
All he could do was keep his kneeled posture in front of the obese being, keeping his head gazing at the mosaic-tiled floor.
"What of my position within the Mantle Navy," Zakolo remarked, suppressing any anger or frustration that would otherwise be noticed in his voice.
"Your position will be wiped, any land owned by you transferred to the Keelopa's, and a 5 million credit debt placed on all future earnings made by you towards the Keelopa's, with a 10 percent annual interest rate, accounting for all future earnings." the Stellarch casually stated, "Though do not fret, I will return you to your place within the wider navy once you've served your sentence, to the dismay of both me and the Keelopa's the navy seemed rather stringent on my acquisition of you."
The Keelopa's seemed to frown at the mention of the navy, Thanks Mom he silently thought.
The Stellarch seemed to have reminded himself of the Keelopa's presence, turning his massive body to point towards the family.
"Go, I do not care if you desire to gloat over him, nor do I care if you find my decision righteous or not." the Stellarch uttered with a tone of disgruntlement.
The Keelopa's immediately left in file the moment the Stellarch finished his declaration, leaving only him, the Stellarch, and the silent praetorians in the grand chamber

The stretch of pine forest they were sprinting through was supposed to have been the easy leg of the patrol, where 16th Detachment of the 909th Woodland Scouts would make up the time they'd lost earlier in the week, wading through the partially-frozen mire of the Siberian peat bogs. Unfortunately, the vast quantities of large, loose, easy-to-miss boulders in the forest were making what was meant to be a merry jaunt an unpleasant and painful experience.
They were on a two-week cross-country patrol along the edge of the Arctic Circle in the Governessship of Russia, with the nebulous objective of "Deterring and Preventing Insurgent Activities". In practical terms, this meant sprinting through the pitch-black night, occasionally switching from night vision to thermals, all while bearing the immense weight of half a month's supplies, weatherproof cermet body armor, and a regulator pack.
Horok's situation was made worse by a combination of several factors: for one, he was a male Rakiri, and not a particularly large one at that. Despite all this, for some inexplicable reason, he had ended up getting trained as an anti-armor gunner upon graduating from Basic. His KPF-03 anti-armor laser cannon, even in its taken-down form, nearly touched the ground if he did not run with a slight hunch to his back. And in the dark, with a layer of fresh snow covering the ground, the loose boulders were practically invisible. All this was to say: he was having more than a bit of trouble staying upright.
These factors, apparently, did not concern his superior. "Bolter, if you didn't want to do this shit, maybe you shoulda transferred to stewards, huh?" Sergeant Oka barked from somewhere in front of him. "The rocks are not that bad!"
'Easy for you to say,' Horok thought, 'you are running light.'
For being barely a meter and a half tall, Horok was loaded with the most gear. And, to add insult to injury, the 909th had somehow been left with their old anti-armor lasers, despite their recent refitting to more modern gear. In fully-deployed form, the miniature cannon was longer than he was tall, and weighed easily upwards of a dozen kilos. In fairness, at least it was a laser; not a kinetic. The rest of the unit had just been upgraded from HD-K19(i) coilguns to HS-R11(a) laser rifles, which brought their total combat effectiveness from nil to

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alrighty, this should be a fun one to read, you get to meet a few new Species that you haven't gotten to see close up yet. And with that said, time for another tidbit of lore to keep yall interested. Today I will tell you about Glimmer Drorns, a Glimmer Drorn is a type of creature that is mostly gaseous with a thin membrane that gives them a roughly spherical shape, they float around and absorb sunlight and interstellar gas to survive. Almost butterfly-like behavior, they generally range in size from 15 to 120 meters and are commonly found in Interstellar gas clouds like nebula or proto stars. While their membrane is slightly iridescent, they are mostly transparent, being filled with ionized gas and smaller bubble-like structures containing metabolic compounds. they reproduce via budding. Anyways, Please Enjoy.

"Ouch." Creesh cried out as she dropped the box she had been attempting to move. Neirdith and Seth came running over to her and Samantha as she flapped her injured grasper while hopping around.
"Are you okay Creesh, what happened?" Seth asked worriedly as he reached her.
Neirdith's eyes widened as she saw her cut, it was small but welled with a slow trickle of dark green fluid. "Is your blood supposed to be that colour?" She asked worriedly.
"Yeah, that's normal, for a Swanith at least, you didn't know I had green blood?" She asked Neirdith.
Neirdith looked at her a bit sheepishly "Well I had read it somewhere, but it's different to see it in person ya know."
Creesh just rolled her eyes as Samantha tried to wrap a sterile bandage around her much smaller finger. "It can't be any weirder than you having bright blue blood, or Seth and Samantha both having red blood"
Samantha looked at Seth and said "Wait, you have red blood?"
Now it was Seth's turn to be surprised. Looking askance at her he replied "Yeah, Humans and Yeown have almost the exact same biochemical structure, it's what scientists call convergent evolution, that's why you can eat any of the meats that I can and vice-versa. You didn't get taught that in school?"

3 Days after Arrival:
Dripping water echoed through the dark tunnels beneath the city. Bjornholf still couldn’t believe what was happening. In his 1,500 years of unlife, he had never imagined that he’d witness an actual alien invasion. His ward and youngblood offspring, Julia, did not share Bjornholf’s shock. She was a woman of the modern age. TV and movies gave her plenty of context.
“C’mon B, cheer up.” she chided before breaking into a bad Austrian accent, “If it bleeds, ve can kill it!”
“You should really work on your Germanic, Jules.” Bjornholf responded with a chuckle.
“And maybe we can feed off them too?” she continued, “Surely alien invaders are on the list of acceptable prey for The Kindred of Sanguinea?”
“I am not sure, but we will find out soon enough.” Bjornholf replied.
“Yeah, at least my sources indicated that they think we are just human resistance fighters. They won’t know what hit them.”
Bjornholf loaded his kitted SCAR-H with armor-piercing ammunition. Allegedly, these “Shil’Vati” had serious body armor, nothing that the “Hound of Sanguinea” couldn’t rip, slash, or bite through though. Nonetheless, Bjornholf knew better than to underestimate a foe. He brought as much ammunition as he could fit into his battle belt along with his .44 magnum in a chest holster and his trusted WWII US bayonet.
A creature with undead regeneration had no need for body armor as it would only weigh him down. Bjornholf wore his usual attire, black BDUs, black leather paratrooper boots, black sleeveless shirt, and olive green overcoat bearing the insignia of the 101st airborne infantry.
His youngblood had more modern attire with equal functionality. She wore a grey leather jacket, flexible denim jeans, leather Doc Martens, and a black punk T-Shirt. She was partial to lighter weapons, choosing to wield two MP7s. It was a good choice as the 4.6mm ammunition was designed to punch through heavy armor.
“Alright, Jules, you hold the east tunnels. I will hold the north tunnels. Remember kid, we gotta hold them off long enough for the others to evacuate deeper into the catacombs. This invasion won’t be the end of the Kindred of Sanguinea.”
“Yeah yeah old man, I was in the same briefing.” Julia

Anyone who has studied chemistry understands how well organized this is. It definitely looks like a genius made it. Everything is so well organized that the atomic radius, ionic radius, chemical reactivity, electronegativity, and ionization energy have exact arrows. There is a reason why left arrows have a purpose on the periodic table, why right arrows have a purpose, why down and up arrows have a purpose. Every element on there is perfectly positioned among 8 arrows of direction.

We, The Immaculate Legions of Rzqvokth, have been the first and last word in galactic warfare for «millennia» untold. The Galactic Collective Community has long entrusted us as its peacekeepers, for none could stand against the might of the Immaculate Navy. «Hundreds» of civilizations have fallen before us: For challenging our right to systems which we claimed; for perpetrating societies outside of the acceptable norms we dictate; for refusing proper tribute to us for our service of maintaining galactic order.
To dare these acts is to defy us. To defy us is to perish utterly.
Your races have maintained the other functions of the GCC. The economic sector. The civil branches. Lesser judiciary offices. But none of you claim that the Immaculate Legions do anything less than allow the GCC to continue its trivial existence. None of you would dare, for you know it to be truth.
Know also that your fate is now in your own «hands». If you must know why, you need look no further than the planet Earth.
The Daois Conflict brought about the end of the eponymous race. We kept no record of their transgression, for it mattered not once they were extinct. We had no need of the resources of their homeworld or colonies, therefore they were summarily glassed in accordance with our rights as conquerors.
One of these worlds, «ψ Capricorni», was found «centuries» later by one of our patrols to house an unauthorized settlement. Sensors could not identify the race inhabiting the planet — indeed, no race should have been capable of doing so. We followed all protocols by filing a grievance with the GCC before, again, summarily glassing the world.
You erred in not explaining to us that the settlement was one with whom neither you nor we, the Immaculate Legions, had ever had contact.
In «less than two days», three unidentified vessels had arrived at our homeworld of Vokth. We have yet to unravel the mystery of how they found our homeworld when even the GCC has been denied information regarding its location, and their ability to bypass the gravitational interdiction of Glorious Kzlktyth, our star, involves use of a technology which is in direct violation of no fewer than seven treaties we have in place with the GCC.
We could barely even detect their primitive communication attempt and thei

" BACKGROUNDER Silver in medicine – past, present and future Silver has been associated with human medicine and healthcare for over two millennia. The ‘father of modern medicine,’ Hippocrates, wrote of using silver to improve wound care around 400 BC, and during the intervening years silver has featured in a wide range of writings, most of which highlight its capabilities particularly with regards to limiting inflammation and infection. The interest in silver in medicine was probably spurred by long‐held knowledge that silver kept many perishable items fresher for longer periods of time – for example, silver coins were often dropped into barrels of water and milk on long journeys to slow their degradation. While it was not understood at the time, under these conditions silver ions are formed which interrupt many microbial processes associated with spoilage. It is this relatively simple piece of science which ultimately drove the medical community’s interest in silver. ‘Modern day’ medical uses of silver began at the turn of the 19th century when surgeons used silver sutures to help minimize post‐operative inflammation. Later in the 1800s, silver nitrate eyedrops were introduced as an antiseptic (to reduce neonatal conjunctivitis). The following century saw World War I soldiers take silver leaf into battle to help fight infection if they were injured in the trenches, and silver was increasingly used to treat common ailments such as sore throats and tonsillitis. This increase in usage was accompanied by the identification of argyria, a rare condition associated with the gradual accumulation of silver compounds in the body and characterized by discoloration of the skin in the most extreme cases. Alexander Fleming’s discovery of antibiotics in the late 1920s saw a reduction of interest in silver’s use in medicine for a short period, but this was reignited in the 1960s by the work of Professor Carl Moyer, who was Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Washington University, Missouri. Moyer recognized the potential of silver salts to be used in the treatment of severe burns injuries. In a paper presented at the 69th annual convention of the U.S. National Medical Association in 1964, Moyer described: “A personal experience during 25 years with applying dressings continuously wet with 0.5% silver nitrate to chronically infected open wounds and to thin split‐grafts on surfaces that rej
