A list of puns related to "Cecil"
R1: one year
R2: 3 years
R3: 5 years
Spoilers for the Invincible comics. Like, all of it.
I fucking love Cecil.
He looks like a government spook. He acts like a government spook. Some of the things he does are really shitty and at home in a generic 2000's movie about goverment = bad. And yet, there's this air of "christ i really don't want to do this but i have to" about him, he even says so a few times (and i love the way the va in the show delivers it)
This is the guy who would actually make a deal wih the devil if it saved earth(he did, btw, but we'll get to that).
Enter Robot (i'm not calling him Rex). Robot is, essentially, the Red Hood to Cecil's Batman. The few silm and pretty grey lines of morality that hold Cecil back are gone in Robot. Robot is just Cecil on steroids and it shows. Robot's methods fucking work, life on earth is great and crime is gone! But at what cost would you ask? Well, it's not like Robot can get anymore mental, but the few relationships he still had and treasured? Gone. Monster Girl? Hates his guts. His old Teen Team-mates? Hate his guts, especially Eve, because, well, he ripped her leg off when she was pregnant and defenseless. Generally, Robot is not a great guy. He gets results and he doesn't care how he gets them. He did the things Cecil would have wanted to do but couldn't bring himself to do.
Anyway, Cecil? He did make a deal with the devil. You wanna know how? He's called Omniman, down to the evil moustache. He knew the whole time he was up to no good, but he still took the chance. And he hates himself for it. You know how Robot gets real friendly with Omniman in the final few issues? The same omniman(with way worse facial hair) that still has ulterior motives and is purely focused on the survival of his race? The one that just kinda brushed aside the rape of his child? Yeah, he gets real friendly with that Omniman.
Robot made a deal with the devil and even became friends with him, Cecil made a deal with the devil and hated himself for it. I like that
Thanks for suffering through my rambling, same time next week? Maybe we'll talk about how Anissa and Marky's resolution really soured my feelings for the series
Iβm a new IM intern who just finished his first week.
My attending has advised me that the best thing I can do for myself is to start off mastering the essential basics of internal medicine. She says that before I can go on to reading new guidelines and expert opinion and stuff like that, I should first really study the fundamentals of diagnosis and treatment from a resource like Harrison or Cecilβs.
I agree with this idea and I want to spend intern year learning on my own when I have time.
My question is: What is the current meta for studying Internal Medicine at the resident level?
Are there better resources today than Harrisonβs? I want something that is all encompassing the way Harrisonβs is, so that I can just be like βokay, Iβm gonna just study from this all yearβ, but I wonder if thereβs something better available now that Med Ed has advanced since the dawn of Harrisonβs.
My attending has also been an attending for 20 years, so she may not be up to date on the latest things at the level of an IM intern.
What do you guys recommend?
Chaotic Good - Neutral Good - Lawful Good
Chaotic Neutral - True Neutral - Lawful Neutral
Chaotic Evil - Neutral Evil - Lawful Evil
I'm leaning toward Lawful Neutral. He's protecting the world, with any means necessary. Huge monsters, genius that modifies dead humans, whatever it takes. But I'm not an expert on Alignments, so I thought I'd ask for input.

incase you dont know who cecil is well heres a little bit of his lore
"As a young government agent, Cecil Stedman was trapped by terrorists and exposed to a flesh-disintegrating gas. He was rescued by Brit at the last second. In the aftermath, he had artificial skin applied to his entire body, except for a piece of his original, decayed skin around his mouth to always remind him that he had screwed up and allowed people to die.
Years later, the Lizard League invaded the Pentagon. When trying to escape the invaders, the two terrorists that had almost killed him before had appeared on the scene and saved him. Director Radcliffe revealed that their deaths had been faked, since he thought they were of better use working on the government's side. Subsequently, Cecil thanked the former terrorists by killing them on the spot, earning him a prison sentence on his own. After a couple of months, Cecil was visited in prison by Director Radcliffe, who was stepping down from his job on the Global Defence Agency, and claiming that Cecil would be the only person capable to take over. After declining, Radcliffe told Cecil that he could either be the good guy or the guy who saved the world, but not always both at the same time. Cecil soon accepted the offer. "
and i am curious what would happen if he became director of shield instead of director of the GDA
I'm over a year behind at this point, thanks for the info!
