Cabaret singer Marc Stevens heads out to his next gig only that his truck breaks down in a runaway village.
You guessed it… It’s a Horror Film but not one that plays in traditional standards. In Fact it’s a very good Horror movie about the need for company and the extremes one is willing to take and the good news is that unlike Eden Lake or Wrong Turn it’s not a violent as one may seem to make the eye. In fact it’s the sort of scary movie that gives reminiscence as to why The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) was and still is a great movie.
It’s also shot by Gaspar Noé regular and Spring Breakers cinematographer Benoit Debie who in my eye is one of the all time great visual cameramen along side Roger Deakins and Christopher Doyle. And Performances are all round great including a Paul Giamatti lookalike Jackie Beroyer as a complete mentally disturbed goon and Philippe Nahon from I Stand Alone proves he was an underrated presence in cinema.
Meanwhile the direction and the pitch perfect script fitting in perfectly at the right tone and pacing of the film. I wasn’t necessarily scared but i was floored by it’s weird intrigue. It’s as if Jean Pierre Jeunet made a horror film bleaker than Delicatessen here are the results.
There is a strange piano sequence in a pub which leads to dance unlike anything you will see in any genre both creepy and hair raising. It also like Chainsaw Massacre abruptly ends with open to suggestion and minimal closure.
Things get loud and Trippy by the third act and as oddly quirky as spongebob cartoon
If this all sounds mad. That’s because it is . Luckily it’s never forcefully purposeful and it’s entirely mesmerising and measurable.
You won’t be forgetting it any time soon.

juste un petit post pour vous signaler en ce moment mon envie presque incontrôlable de jeter mon téléphone par la fenêtre à chaque pub YouTube , à savoir toutes les 30 secondes .
De plus , les pubs n'ont plus la possibilité de passer par moment , quand cela est sortir ça m'a fait chier très fort mais comme cela n'est pas suffisant pour les utilisateurs ils ont décider d'en caler deux l'une après l'autre ce qui à le mérite de me rend encore plus fou .
Donc si vous aussi vous en pouvez plus de la politique commercial de YouTube , je vous encourage à être fort mentalement car d'après moi ils vont encore trouver d'autre moyen de nous forcer à regarder de la publicité.
Je vous envoye un gros shot de courage en intraveineuse depuis le massif central .
