A list of puns related to "Atlassian"
Hi everyone,
So Iβm a Product Manager and we recently hired a project manager to help with project scoping, documentation, scrum master duties, etc. (we work with multiple clients so there is a need to track projects). I was wondering if thereβs an expectation for project managers to have some proficiency in Jira and Confluence? The new hire only has experience in excel and older PMP tools.
Thanks!
I just found we don't have a levels.fyi in OCE, and I don't know which one is decent-paying except those listed in the title everyone knows.
For example, how are big 4 banks paying compared to a good tech company like AfterPay/SafetyCulture/wise tech/ResMed, and which companies will pay developers $150k/year for 4 years of experience except those listed above?
Hey guys - so Iβm a LONG time (read;2006) Atlassian user and ex-admin. At this point in my career, Iβm a director for a cloud software dev company. I want to love Atlassian cloud.. but goddamn did they shit the bed with this rollout. Iβm not taking about the announcement- which was also tone deaf. Here are my takeaways:
The SSO tax is excessive and it will cause small or unaware shops to skip on one of the best security features they can have access too (not Access itself, but SSO). Paying for shit like CASB is fine IMO- but SSO should be free or 80% MUCH cheaper.
Forcing you to buy tiers of users in cloud? Huh what? Cloud is supposed to be elastic in all senses. The on-prem licensing model should have died with Server. Buying my tier of user is cheaper on the monthly plan.. but then they want credit card only. Dumb.
Plugins are crazy more expensive. Ok - this isnβt on the surface exactly an Atlassian issue.. but I suspect behind the scenes it is. Plugins makers 1000% get pricing and licensing guidance from Atlassian.
The progressive discounting doesnβt actually make sense and should apply to shops of all sizes. The year 4 (or retail) pricing is exorbitant. Again- I saw this as someone in the βsaasβ industry. A 30% uplift is reasonable. Weβre almost at 100%. Plus Access. Which will cost our org an additional $30k just to bring our idp.
Iβve been a massive advocate for Atlassian products over the years and I want my team to stop managing it - so cloud should be a perfect fit.. but I think itβs time to speak with my dollars and spin up a project to replace it soon. :(
So I am a Sr. Atlassian Admin for a company. I have manage Cloud + Server installation (Front and back end) but don't know exactly where this career can evolve from here.
What would be the next aspiring job title to go after? I am very interested in cyber security, is there any way that my experience with Atlassian can help with career without having to completely restart from entry level?
I was using a really good tool called EasyRetro, but it's external to JIRA. There is a good amount of choices available in the Marketplace, but just thought of consulting the community here for a good recommendation. Thank you. π
I have a paid account with Trello. For more than a decade I have used Trello for my businesses and personal life and I have over 200+ boards. I have introduced many(!) people to Trello. So, in short you could say that Trello plays an important role in my life and businesses.
A while ago I suddenly couldn't login to Trello and it forced me to login with Atlassian. I didn't have an Atlassian account, so I had to go through the hassle of making a new Atlassian account and make it work with Trello - there was no way around it.
This morning again I was locked out to my Trello account on all devices and Atlassian is unable recognise my login information. Again this comes at a very unfortunate moment while I am in an important professional situation with tremendous time pressure. There is no way to contact Trello/Atlassian as there is no customer service at all. So, what now?
Hello, our team is having issues solving a current problem.
We use Jira but we do not like the way that dependencies are shown in Jira. Our team supports the data department so a lot of our tickets are dependent on other departments.
With the said, the team created a separate static storyflow board in excel to clearly list all ticket info and clearly list dependencies; however, management would like to automate this process.
They do not want us to have to update to Jira and then have to update a separate static dashboard. The goal is to update Jira and then have all the updates we want to be automated into excel in a specific format that we want.
Hi everyone,
We want to connect our Altium projects to bamboo and bitbucket systems. To do this, we need to develop add-ons with the altium scripting system. Is there any place where I can find these plugins?
Basically what we want to do;
We want to integrate CI/CD into our Altium projects. We want to install features like these on our local server. Can you share articles and resources for setting up this system? Altium website offers delphiscript, jscript, VBScript to develop this system, but there are not enough resources on altium website.
I've been a Confluence and Jira user since 2007, admin-ing since 2008, and have brought it to each company I join or start. I've been a huge advocate for the ecosystem for a long, long time.
But I really feel like the ecosystem is dying, and the rot seems to be accelerating in the past couple of years. I recently made an analogy that if Atlassian were a car, it keeps getting nice addons like a nav system, redesigned body style, etc, but no one realized that the tires are flat and there's no gas in the tank.
Here are some of the issues/complaints I have:
Yes, there are workarounds to most of these, but they all add up ...
The Bitbucket issues have added up to the point that we are going ahead and migrating to GitHub next week. From there, I don't know how much longer JIRA remains viable. And without Jira, Confluence becomes drastically less compelling.
So, if you started a company today, would you setup the Atlassian Ecosystem again, or use something else?
Hello, My current team uses Jira to create tickets. The problem is that our former DM liked us to have a separate excel document that clearly listed dependencies between each story in the epic. The story board would show story num, description, status on the ticket, dev assigned, qa hours, etc
Is there a way in Atlassian or Confluence where we could automatically create these dashboards? Where when we update tickets within the epic, then it will update a separate dashboard automatically for tracking purposes?
We just do not want to keep on updating tickets in Jira, and then have to update a static excel dashboard on our sharepoint. It would be better to keep it centralized within one platform like Jira/Confluence.
