A list of puns related to "Ap Lit"
Nay mβre parties i can nevβr hasβt
Tβis a game I shall not ever winneth,
Tβis the best life, fie! tβis left me aghast
(bid me with what thou shalt so wilt wisheth),
I fancy a magnificent dwelling
Include a Lou at my largest request,
Boasting a tub telling for fragrant smelling
Fβr it must hold many a group of guests,
I must obtain a bottomless coin purse
And bartβr a dragon, which to drowse,
Pβrfβrming various acts as I travβrse
(Thou hβast been there whilst I still slowly browse),
I shalt exchange my life fβr endless fame
I would lop my hair and rephrase my name
I didnβt have any hard copies of my written essays that had teacher comments because she makes us keep them in a folder at school. (So you can imagine my horror when I decided to apply to Princeton a week ago) I emailed her a few days ago about retrieving the folder from school, thinking that she would say no because itβs literally break and students arenβt allowed on campus, but she went out out of her way to go this morning and hand me the folder from her car. I stood there, thanking her profusely for 5 minutes.
Itβs also a mix of procrastination tbh. I havenβt done my health assignments and slacked on AP lit essay. Havenβt attempted political reform or astronomy projects. AP Calc alberts have not been started yet either. My grades were straight As before senior year. Theyβre still As now but soon when grades are posted more ima T_T.
As of rn, I have a 95 in the class and Iβm confident in my essays (ish for synthesis). I have heard from my teacher that AP Lit is easier, but I would like to hear advice from yβall. Especially those who have taken AP Lit.
What should I expect? What is the exam like?
Any pros (other than college credit)? Cons?
Is it easier or harder than AP Lang?
Thank you and congratulations to all that were accepted into colleges ED!
*EDIT: As far as I know, my teacher has been teaching AP Lang for about 10+ years, but idk her teaching experience for AP lit
Just wanna get this off my chest.
I hate this course so much. Last year, junior year, I took AP Lang and that was bearable. I was able to score a 4 on the AP exam despite having it online. Since the passages and essays were more analytically based, it felt easier to score points and understand the text.
Fast forward to this year and I'm literally in agony from this fucking course. First, literature is starting to piss me off. Poetry or prose, I wanna vomit at the sight of it. No matter how hard I read the passages, the questions for me are still hard to answer correctly and consistently. All my teacher says to do is practice, but it's very hard to effectively practice if both the question and its official explanation make no sense.
Then there are the essays, the reason I wanted to make this post. After a few practice essays in AP lang, I got the idea of how to write those essays and was able to score a consistent 5 or 6 on the practice essays. Now, my score ranges from a 3-4 on the essays. THE FUCK?! Either my teacher is a hardass teacher or I just got worse at English? idfk.
Word of Advice: If you are looking to take AP Lit, please don't.
Thanks for listening to my rant.:)
At my school in a class of about 25, around 10 people have an A(according to a teacher). Is it worth it to take lit if I already took Lang?
Personally, in Lang first semester I had an 87.9(mainly due to one debate where I freaked out). My school is pretty competitive and comparing to them, Iβm not outstanding whatsoever in English. Would it be beneficial to endure the stress for this class? This would probably be my 3/4 AP class, but donβt know if itβs worth it.
i know every teacher is different but just a general idea of which is harder would help. specifically though, i want to know how much homework you generally get in ap lit since i'm planning on taking it next year
(i'm a freshman who finds writing easier than reading)
11-10-21 edit: thank u for all the responses! i forgot to mention im in ap lang rn but also it's in my flair so im sure u could tell lmao
Hi guys Iβm wondering if u guys could give some advice or resource for ap lit. My teacher is nice but sheβs not rly experienced w the course so weβre not doing anything in class basically. All we do is do questions for mcq which isnβt rly helping because Iβm still scoring rly poorly. Any advices or resources r greatly appreciated, thanks!!
I just took my midterm, and I literally got half of them wrong. According to my teacher, half +1 is a passing grade. However, I want to try to aim to get like 70% of the questions right. I want to go beyond the bare minimum
Do you guys know if it is okay to put the ending punctuation of a quote in square brackets to change it?
For example:
"blah blah blah."
to
"blah blah blah[!]"
Thanks!
we do timed writes in preparation for the ap exam, 4 a semester. we took the third one at the start of november and the fourth one three weeks ago. it's currently finals week (if you're on break already you're literally so lucky)
she just gave back the third one last week and we still haven't gotten the fourth one back yet...we were supposed to get it back last week but she pushed back returning it two or three times already. our final for the class is on wednesday and she wants us to do revisions for both of them before then in order to practice for the final. at this rate we're going to have literally twelve hours to do revisions on the second one (she publishes the grades at midnight) and not to mention there are two finals a day so we have another class to study for already. i feel like i'm going insane we have so many ungraded assignments already and she's the harshest grader out of all the ap lit teachers at my school and i'll be lucky if i pull a b in this class. i have a physics final tomorrow that i should probably be studying for but i'm too pissed about this to care about friction on an incline
How should I practice and prep for the exam? Ap Lit is not what Iβm good at and I want to get at least a 3 maybe a 4.
i really don't know how to like. practice for ap lit bc its not like math or anything where there's a right or wrong answer and you can check it in an answer key. if anyone's taken it before, how did you practice and improve your writing?
I already have quite a few AP classes and will have taken 15 tests if we include AP Lit by the end of high school, but I realize that I have little use for AP Lit. I am required by my school to take the AP Lit class, but the test is optional, should I take it next year?
Edit: I guess I should add that I'm asking this in terms of college admissions vs. cost of the test
I already know the answer is yes but⦠idk is it fun at least? Does it make up for the difficulty of the class + test?
Iβve already applied to all my schools and we just got a new teacher who is AWFUL! I want to enjoy school more be scared that I will be yelled at everyday I walk in. Will it look that bad on applications? My realistic schools are Wake Forest, UF, VT, BCU, while my reach is UNC. I know for my safety schools I will be fine (FSU, UW) but Iβm nervous it will take a toll on Wake for example. Any advice?
Hey all I just have a q on how you guys approach the lit frq. I'm kinda struggling with the 'how' part when I write my intros/thesis. All of the q's are like 'explain HOW the author uses literary elements and techniques to show this'. My problem is that yep I can write and explain about the effects of those literary devices and how they tie in to the themes, but what do they mean 'how' the author uses them? Like in my thesis I just write some restatement of the question because they surely don't want me to write something like 'well the author uses the elements skillfully...' im so confused how do i phrase my thesis???
I asked my teacher about this but he didn't really help me understand how...
Is this a doable schedule to get all As?
btw physics c would be mechanics as well as electricity and magnetism
im currently taking ap lang (not doing so hot but probably will do better as the year goes on) and apush (my teacher is super chill, barely had a few assignments and got 100s on them so far). im planning on taking ap euro, calc bc, and ap physics next year. i was wondering if i should not take lit and just take english 12. will it look bad to colleges that im not taking "the most rigorous course"? i heard theres not really a point in taking lit after lang
title. I'm doing fine in the class but I don't really know if it's worth it. I've already scored a 5 on AP Lang so that will get me some English credit, just debating if I need/want more. currently being put through the wringer between CRJs and college apps
context: I'll be an engineering major, possibly in honors college (so I'd take the enrichment english or whatever), and one of my top schools give lit the same course credit as lang and the other gives a different course credit. oh, and my school's AP exam registration closes in 2 days. I've payed but that's the deadline to get a full refund
I am asking this question because I could not finds my info on what the colleges look for. I am going for an economics major, and already took AP world history, US history, Government, Stats, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Calc BC, and AP language and composition. I was wondering if it is worth to do AP literature next year, because currently I am absolutely loathing my AP language class, despite being one of the few A students in it. Will it be worth it to suffer through literature next year or no? I am genuinely curious.
Sidenote: I got a 97 on my Finance test today π
Thanks!
I mean AP DAILY VIDEOS
I didnβt know that we werenβt allowed to reference the book that we use for the last question so I got my hamlet book from my bedroom and started quoting it directly. I donβt know what to do! Literally quoted the act, scene and line. Ex : (3.6.13-17). Called support and they said they couldnβt really do anything so Iβm going to contact my AP coordinator
I hate AP Lit. Itβs the dumbest fucking class Iβve ever fucking taken. Fuck my teacher and fuck her vague ass instructions. She consistently takes out her anger on her students every class to the point where no one can ask her a question since weβre all scared of getting reamed out. Then when we donβt understand her terrible instructions and do the assignment wrong, she yells at us even more. I literally cannot believe my high school bully is a teacher lmao this is pathetic. I wish instead of Lit it was just AP Lang part 2 π
Edit: for whoever is concerned about my safety and well-being, thank you lmao but Iβm definitely okay!! Iβm just mad and probably gonna talk to some administrators about my teacher (:
I have found myself put into AP lit by the request of my schools administration and Iβm not sure what to expect. What were the typical assignments like, what was a standard week in the class like? How long were essays usually, how MANY essays were you writing? Things like that. Obviously this changes from school to school but Iβd like to get a general idea.
Need some good ideas
I signed up for AP Spanish lit for shits and giggles but I donβt understand anything and my teacher talks really fast. Iβm good at grammar and sentence structure but awful vocabulary. Should I just drop the class?
Hello! Not referring to being exempt from ELWR courses, I just mean counting towards my total units. Thank you!
I canβt figure out how to improve my ICWs for the life of me π any tips?
