A list of puns related to "Annals Of The Four Masters"
This one's going up a little earlier than normal due to personal commitments on my behalf. Heads up; this is the longest one so far! u/XiahouMao did a really good job with this one, so I hope you guys are willing to give the whole thing a read!
Lu Su, styled Zijing, the Kindly Diplomat! An important figure in the relationship between Liu Bei and Sun Quan, Lu Su is also a very different character between novel and history. It's a rare case where his Dynasty Warriors portrayal leans far more heavily towards the 'history' side of things. As normal, novel-exclusive details are in bold, history-exclusive details are in italics, and things in plain text apply to both.
Lu Su was from the area around Lujiang. His family was wealthy, but he lost his father at a young age. He was generous with his family's wealth and shared it with people who were in need, becoming beloved in the area because of that. In 196, when Zhou Yu sought to leave Yuan Shu's service and go to join Sun Ce, he took a few hundred followers with him. They came to Lu Su's estate and asked if he could assist them with supplies. Lu Su, at the time, had two granaries well-stocked with food. He pointed to one of them and said Zhou Yu could take its contents, thus giving him half of his food stock. Zhou Yu was stunned at the generosity and made sure to befriend Lu Su, before pressing onward to join Sun Ce. (This incident happened in both novel and history, though in the novel it's not specified when it happened, as Zhou Yu was with Sun Ce from his start)
Yuan Shu wished to recruit Lu Su to his cause, but Lu Su didn't feel Yuan Shu was a worthy lord. Rather than stay put and risk earning his wrath, he gathered the people of his estate together and recommended they cross the river to Jiangdong, to go to Sun Ce's lands. Some of Yuan Shu's men mobilized to stop him, leading Lu Su to talk to them, saying that they wouldn't be rewarded for catching him, and neither would they be punished if they failed. He planted a shield in the ground, drew his bow and arrow, and fired it at the shield, the arrow piercing straight through it. Yuan Shu's men wanted no part of that and withdrew. Lu Su crossed the river and settled down in Qu'a, near Jianye.
After Sun Ce's death, Sun Quan took command of the Southlands, and Zhou Yu recommended Lu Su to his service. He said that Lu Su must be hired without delay, as his friend Liu Ye had prevailed upon him to travel north in search of a worthy lord. Sun Quan thus su

Namely, the scene where Barbara Streisand turns into a monster and Stan or Kyle says something along the lines of 'This is fucked up...'.

Long before mankind ruled Teder, other lifeforms roamed and cultivated the wild frontiers of the planet. Herein, are excerpts from the lost annals of Teder. Our story begins with the arrival of the elves in the year 181.
Much of the history before the year 181 remains a mystery. We only begin with that year because it is the first listed in the annals. What we do know is that during the year 181 a small number of elves formed the town of Woodfolk in the northern hemisphere. Led by a courageous leader named Amanefari, the elves began the first civilization in a world filled with wild beasts, tall ancient trees, and plentiful resources.
During the year of 205, the Woodfolk settled their second village. The town of Ercona sprouted in the middle of the continent began to immediately prosper. This expansion led to the nomination of the first Woodfolk king, A'Dason. Having turned down the role of Elven king, Amanefari continued to govern the capital of this new kingdom. While relatively young, A'Dason was considered wise beyond his years.
Elven explorers began to expand beyond their land and soon reported that there were living trees across the ocean toward the southwest in what they called the Crescent Forest. Unfortunately, no one bothered to draw a map or illustrate these creatures.
The Woodfolk enjoyed 50 years of empirical superiority until Dwarves founded the town and later kingdom, Kaldoria to the south at the base of Mount Gigantor.
Not much is known about these dwarves except that very few populated the town upon its founding in 231.
Meanwhile, the Woodfolk continued to prosper. By 235, four cities were now part of the Woodfolk kingdom. A'Dason remained dedicated to growing his empire to all the edges of their inhabited continent. Peace continued to reign among the elves.
Down south the dwarves also began to stretch their borders. They founded their second city, Gristle Watch, in 236 and elected Kal-Torak as their king.
Peace would continue throughout the land until the Woodfolk city of Ercona became usurped by a cult simply named, Enlightenment. The cult promised a quick path of knowledge to all elves that would swear fealty to it. Within a decade, the

"Second, as you heard President Clark read the financial statement, he read it as if he knew what he was talking about. And he does... It emphatically indicated watchdog care in the spending of Church funds. In the message of our two leaders we were reminded of a balance of the spirit and the temporal. When this Church thinks of nothing but money, it is a "goner." When this Church thinks of only spiritual things, and we haven't our feet on the ground and we won't hold water financially, we are on dangerous ground. Thank the Lord for that balanced condition of this Church, and may it always be that way. "
"ADVICE AGAINST GREED FOR RICHES
The observation I would like to make here to you is that many people holding positions in our Church are getting this money bug. I take my hat off to the man who has insurance and provides for a rainy day. A man is a coward if he doesn't do that. I am talking about TSSC the man who has accumulated plenty and gets the disease or bug so that he eternally chases after more, more, more, and in that chasing he neglects his duties (to the poor and needy?). Some men take the cream of their energy for making money, and when they come to the Lord's work, they've got nothing but skim milk, and some of it is awfully blue.
He who longs to be rich is like a man who drinks sea water; the more he drinks the more thirsty he becomes and never leaves off drinking until he perishes."
"It (a cartoon) was of an elderly gentleman on his deathbed. I guess he had placed for his comfort his stocks and bonds and his money all around his bed. You can scarcely see him for his accumulations. The whole picture told the story that the end was near. The doctor with watch in hand held the old fellow's pulse, and the nurse from the expression on her face was ready for the ultimate. In that tense moment so vividly pictured, the old man, with his hands on his gold, tenaciously blurted out: "Doc, I'm not going to go until I can take these with me." (or wait until Jeebus shows up to claim his 125B fortune?)
Now, when you go, you will leave everything. Some men **TSCC get their minds so much on cattle, so much on stocks and bonds, so much on sheep tha
Itβs time we all thank the Ancient Greek philosopher who came up with the idea that there were four elements; Water, Earth, Air, and Fire. Without him, Avatar wouldnβt be a thing.
Travelling through the picturesque City of Niagara Falls, I stumbled upon a breakfast cafe with an adjacent hockey souvenir, merchandise and memorabilia store. The name of the establishment was the Blueline Diner.
Admiring the NHL paraphernalia neatly framed and placed on the walls of this cozy little breakfast nook, I sat at a corner table in this semi-busy eatery.
Immediately upon seating myself, I heard, βWhatβs your beverage of choice?β Noting a distinct French accent, I took my eyes off the menu and looked up. Well Iβll be damned, the waiter was none other than the legendary Marcel Dionne.
βYou β¦ you β¦ your Marcel Dionne.β I stammered. Marcel winked and imparted a quick witted response, βIn living colour, eh!β
Rearranging my senses, I was able to lucidly ask, βYou are a famous hockey Hall of Fame hero β what are you doing here waiting tables?β With a warm and gentle smile, Marcel casually replied, βI own this joint.β
The quaint little diner was obviously a mom and pop operation, but who would ever imagine that the legendary Marcel Dionne was serving as pop in this family restaurant?
Being an ardent fan of this hockey wizard who usurped the 1979-80 Art Ross Trophy from the mighty Wayne Gretzky, I was smitten when Marcel took the time to briefly chat with me.
Still stargazed, I somehow managed to learn that the transplanted Drummondville, Quebec superstar played Junior Hockey in the Niagara area and became deeply enamored with his new surroundings. So much so, that the young Marcel vowed to establish himself in this locale one day.
Upon completing my delicious breakfast, the affable celebrity bid me a fond farewell while offering an invite to visit his adjoining retail store.
Taking Marcel up on his invitation, I was deeply impressed with the extensiveness of the store with its vast amounts of NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL merchandise. Wishing that I could purchase innumerable keepsakes that would ultimately jeopardize my meager budget, I happened upon Marcel Dionneβs holy shrine mecca.
Marveled by the purple and gold themed room showcasing framed photos, enshrined skates, milestone pucks, a glass encased purple helmet, treasured Sher-Wood hockey sticks along with a wide assortment of well-earned trophies and commemorative plaques, I asked myself, βWas Marcel five or ten years off the money?β
Think about it; if we migrated Marcelβs past hockey success to the NHL today, can you envisage the amount of capital he would command?
