A list of puns related to "Acoustic Suspension"
The seals on my Magnum K's are completely disintegrated. Looks like it may have once been foam but it's now a disgusting tacky substance that I've scraped off. My first thought was replace it with felt strips because it won't disintegrate, but I know felt isn't gonna be totally air tight. How much does this matter?
Hi all,
I am way out of touch on modern market items and at this point there are too many companies to sift through. I currently have older McIntosh XR-6's and always loved the fact they are full range and have clear tight bass. However I am curious how that overall design would hold up with modern drivers.
Does anyone know of modern full range (20Hz-20kHz) acoustic suspension speakers that ideally have critically damped woofers?
Thinking of building a pair of TriTrix mtm tl speakers http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-702 But I don't know much about this speaker design?? How would these compare to my Polk Audio Monitor 70's? Thx

The siren listened to Lexington's cover on the radio, sitting on the beachβs rocks, and feeling the cold winds blowing from afar. Contrasting to the small pool formed by the wall of rocks between the sea and the sand, which even her reflex could be noticed on the calm waters, the two best words to describe the rest of the ocean are fury and violence: waves that break and drag the crabs while gifting the land with recently-ripped whales and sharks.
She was visibly amused with the contrast between the coldness from the winds and the warmth from the aurora, aware that the sun will soon rise over the horizon and itβs rays will send the darkness back to the shadows. Birds could be heard singing something very different on the woods at their back, a sign for the few tired gunners on the other side of the island that soon their shift will also end.
There was a reason for her to be so calm: no evil can harm her inside her own domain. The first layer of mirror sea mimics the surrounding beach, with 80m of extension allowing them to notice any incoming patrol and intercept them from inside a second mirror sea, this made solely to hide their presence from the patrols on the first layer. With such confidence, she left her hooded trench coat tossed over her rigging while sunbathing with those dark shorts, scarf and bikini.
7 figures were around the calm pool beneath the siren, all wearing the same white armband with a red teardrop, while each of them performed something dif

As the album that followed Jimmy's breakthrough album "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes", "Son of a Son of a Sailor" saw Jimmy going in a more rock n'roll, more international, and a more stylistically varied direction. The album has some wonderful songs that have entered the classic Buffett canon, but the album falls into some weak songwriting at points. Even so, my least favorite songs on this album are still pretty good. They might even by the best work of some other worse artists. I find the party rocker "Fool Button" to have a bit of an obnoxious sound and the content to be pretty generic. "African Friend" is a story of the narrator partying in the Caribbean islands with an out of town African businessman. It borders on some exoticism, considering the narrator revels in simply having a "friend" from Africa, and not really getting to know him. There's a bit of a sad twist at the end when it's revealed that the African businessman has gotten in some legal trouble and on the run from the law. Still, the song's vagueness fails to give it an emotional impact. "Livingston Saturday Night", written for the jeff Bridges-Sam Waterson Western movie, "Rancho Deluxe. It's a pretty fun barroom rocker about getting excited to go party, but there's some questionable lyrics about "hittin' on the honeys right out of high school" and "fifteen (year-olds) may get you twenty (years in prison). Jimmy changes the lyrics when he plays this one in concert, which makes it an admittedly listen. But you can't help but feel a little uncomfortable listening to the studio version. "The Last Line", written by Keith Sykes, is an Eagles-esque blue-eyed-soul song perfect for the end of a comedy movie, about gracefully and humbly reaching the end of... something. It's not very specific, so it doesn't pack as much of a punch as some of Jimmy's more insightful songs. "Cowboy in the Jungle" is a righteous, trop rock anthem about, well, a cowboy in the jungle, who challenges the tourists who live on autopilot, and finds meaning in his conundrum by forging straight ahead, come what may. "Manana" is one of the most downright fun and silly songs Jimmy has ever recorded. It's a piano-driven, harmony-filled, story song about an electrical outage in the Keys that leads to mystery, suspense and chaos. It features witticisms like "hanging out in a marina when Steve Martin calls, saying 'anybody there really want

Next up is the KLH Kendalls. As many of you know, the KLH brand has been resurrected fairly recently. Their goal is to produce some really great speakers that were a hallmark of the early original days of KLH. I'm really interested in these for a few reasons. First, the "K" in KLH is for Henry Kloss. Mr. Kloss passed years ago but he left a huge mark on the audio world as he was involved in the creation of not just KLH but Acoustic Research and Advent. I've long been a fan of Advent specifically and of the acoustic suspension speakers in general of decades ago.

The Kendalls are not acoustic suspension as they have a port. However, the KLH Model Fives are, and I really want to audition a pair but they've been so short in supply that I decide to table them for another time. Still, I really would like to hear the Kendalls and looking at the images online, they look gorgeous!

A new pair gets delivered to the door and I can't wait to get these set up. I carefully unpack them and pull these weighty beasts out. They are even more beautiful close up and in person. They are solid and well made and the veneer is fantastic. If we were going on appearance alone, these are the clear winners. What's more, my wife loves their good looks as much as I do and they match the room perfectly.

There is plenty of bass in these speakers and they're very easy to drive. So much bass and it's clean and tight. In "Astral Weeks" they do not come across as bright and there's good detail. We heard some great bass extension and energy on "Englishman in New York." What we also heard is a lack of fullness. They sound a little tight. The mid-range isn't open. Are they not open yet because they're new? Maybe. I let these play on to get them broken in a bit but I just couldn't get them to reach the level of fidelity we were looking for.

During various points of my life, I was either actively learning/playing trumpet or making music using the limited instrumental inventory and software available to me. Sadly, I've never had the experience of collaborating with other people, let alone improvising music in the solo or collective sense. I am fascinated by artists who specialize in playing jazz, jam band, or improv/free music, because it's something I envy and would love to try my hand at. It feels like speaking a different kind of language with other people; being lost in this constantly evolving interplay and development must be like nothing else on Earth. Although I don't know John Dwyer personally, I can safely assume he feels the same, given his increasing appreciation and participation in jamming and improvisations. Sure, evidence of his affinity goes back to at least 2010's forgotten Sword & Sandals release, but it was only with Mutilator Defeated At Last that studio albums started to reflect his love for setting the controls for the heart of the sun, or hitchiking on a krautrock convoy, lost in the reverie of a serene velocity down the Autobahn. Once we were through listening to Smote Reverser for the first time, we had confirmation that the next few years would continue to provide some tasty jams. And so, during their Red Rocks performance in 2021, when he announced before 'Scutum & Scorius', β...this one's for all the Heads out there, smoke 'em if ya got 'emβ, it felt like the first time that we (Dwyer and the audience) were no longer just winking at each other for liking this kind of lengthy spectacle and drug-friendly-but-not-required music. It was open season.
If there's one release in their discography that has come to define βthis one's for all the [Osees] Heads out thereβ for me, it's Weirdo Hairdo, a three song (!), 41 minute long (!!) not-quite-album, not-quite-EP, that is longer than most previous Osees albums, including Protean Threat. Ah, but I digress. Weirdo Hairdo was released on December 17th, 2020, available physically only as a limited edition 'Pilsner' vinyl pressing. The Castleface site describes it as a limited edition 12β, and refers to there being four songs, wh
