A list of puns related to "Zion Williamson"
>It is unfortunate that Zion Williamson has missed so many games in his first 3 years. He is a tremendous talent and one of the most exciting players in the league. But keep things in perspective. He has played almost 3 times as many games as Embiid did in his first 3 years.
> Zion Williamson has received an injection to promote bone healing in his right foot. > > He will be reevaluated in four to six weeks.
>The Pelicans have listed Williamson at 284 pounds. He has played virtually all of his NBA games at a heavier weight than that, sources told The Times-Picayune, and he showed up to training camp in September north of 300 pounds. > > In November, TNT personality Charles Barkley blasted Williamson for being out of shape. > > βIt looked like me and Shaq had a baby,β Barkley said. > > On a road trip to Washington, Williamson was heckled by Wizards fans who chanted, "ZI-ON'S CHUN-KY!" according to the Washington Post. > > Williamson was receiving so much criticism online, Swin Cash, the Pelicans vice president of basketball operations and team development, defended Williamson on Twitter. > > "Imagine photoshopping a 21yr old every chance you get and leaving harsh comments for likes," Cash wrote on Tuesday. "Whew the clown behavior really is shocking Especially from adults!"
Will Zion end up being a player that is consistently injured for the rest of his career? Is his potential still high?
> Brian Windhorst on latest Hoop Collective podcast: > > "Things aren't good in New Orleans right now. With all due respect to everybody, they have completely, totally, utterly, inexplicably botched how they've communicated the Zion Williamson injury. There's no other way to put it."
> Willie GrΠ΅Π΅n says ZiΠΎn WilliamsΠΎn had his scans done on his foot. He's cutting, doing some work on the floor. > > He still isn't clΠ΅ared to do any 5-on-5 work. The plan is for him to get another round of scans in 2-3 wΠ΅Π΅ks that'll free him up to be a full participant in practice.
I don't think an NBA player has ever given so much cause for both concern and optimism in such a short timespan to the extent that Zion has.
So far we've had: Year 1 - Weight and injury concerns Year 2 - 27/7/4 on 65TS% at age 20, holy shit he might be a top 15 player already Year 3 - Serious weight and injury concerns
Curious what the consensus view is right now, so with the possibility of eating crow in the future, what do you guys think is the most likely way in which Zion's career plays out?
MVPs and rings? Just an All Star? Will he flame out? Have we seen the best of him already?

Not great.
Inspired by this recent article looking at evaluating players that have been long time stashes due to injuries this season.

TLDR:
Kyrie Irving: Hold
Kawhi Leonard: Drop
Jamal Murray: Drop
Ben Simmons: Hold
Klay Thompson: Hold
Zion Williamson: Hold
Jerami Grant: Hold
Johnathon Issac: Drop
John Wall: Drop
TJ Warren: Drop
I think Zion is the closest one to becoming a drop. I have yet to get anyone to bite on a trade for him. Thoughts on the others as more and more players continue to fill up IR spots?

His last game was on the 4th of May 2021 and so far an immediate return is unlikely. Although he was the consensus #1 pick and still could be the better player if he ever stays healthy but Ja is screeping up, if he hasn't already overtook him, to look like the best player out of that draft class. With his injury history and weight/overall physique it'll be interesting to see what his next contract looks like.

His 330 lb weigh in also was brought up on the Lowe Post podcast.

Right now, Zion is listed as 284 pounds on his official NBA profile page. Pretty alarming in my opinion. Thoughts on how this affects his fantasy outlook?
With so much hate coming Zion's way it feels important to stress how great and special he has been in his limited time in the league. Hopefully he comes back to assert his dominance rather than becoming a trivia fact.

>New ESPN analyst JJ Redick was asked on conference call: if a Pelicans fan asked you: should I be worried about Zion Williamson staying w/Pelicans long-term, what would you say? Redick - host of @OldManAndThree show - said NOP should be worried, generally, about Zionβs health:
>Of course I would be worried just in general about Zion, given his injury history. There's certainly a lot more at play here than whether he ends up leaving the Pelicans in 5 years or 4 years or whatever it is.
>Zion has to be in better shape. That's not a secret. And he's got to get healthy. And I think if Zion's out on the court with Brandon (Ingram) and the young nucleus they have, there's a lot to be excited about if I was a Pelicans fan.

> Pelicans' Zion Williamson experienced a slight delay in his rehab due to soreness in his injured right foot. Team is optimistic it is not serious but will dial back his ramp up in approximately a week.

Title.
I would lean more towards Zion because of the ceiling, but injuries are a more difficult thing to deal with than someone who doesn't shoot.
Interested in hearing other perspectives.
