A list of puns related to "Yosemite Creek Campground"
Yosemite Creek campground will open for the 2018 season today, Thursday, June 28
The campground is $12 per night, self registration and first come, first served.
The campground is located down a five mile dirt access road and is not recommended for RV's or trailers.
No potable water is available in the campground.
My fiancΓ©e and I are looking to grab a campsite at Yosemite Creek Campground the morning of Sun., Aug. 14th. Can anyone recommend the best arrival time to get one? I know that crowds have been record-breaking this summer, and I want to make sure we don't miss out.
Plus; A tip for anyone reading- We're coming from LA, and already decided to stay outside of the park at a hotel/motel the night prior, so that we can make it to the campground crazy early if necessary. All of the hotels/motels are very expensive, and we found a much cheaper room just 15 minutes further from most of the surrounding hotels at the Chukchansi Casino. Have never been there, but it has good reviews, and we're only looking for a bed.
Three of my buddies and I are planning a trip out there at the end of August, Thursday-Sunday. Any info would be appreciated. What time should I get there to be able to get a decent spot? Should I stay clear of the Yosemite Valley since its about an hour from the campground, and just do hiking near our site? This will be my first time at Yosemite, I keep putting it off because of how crowded everyone always says it is. What are some must see, must do hikes/activites? Except Half Dome, I do not wan't to hike Half Dome based on the mass lines of people I see in pictures.
The automated message system for the park service updated on the 4th says that Yosemite creek campground is closed but i'm seeing reviews being posted on yelp and tripadvisor that people are camping there now. Leaving on the 17th anyone in the area with more information?
So, since camping and driving in and out of Yosemite Creek Campground is a pain, I'm thinking about camping at Porcupine Flat or White Wolf, then hiking over. Are the trails from Yosemite Creek to Porcupine Flat and the other one to White Wolf in good condition (clear path markings, etc.), or is there a high chance that I'll veer off the trail and get lost?
I'm planning a backpack trip for the last week of July. How difficult is it to get a campsite at either of these locations on a Sunday afternoon?
We have a permit to depart White Wolf on Tues. We want to stay at either White Wolf or Yosemite Creek non-reserved campgrounds starting on Sunday. Some of the group will not be backpacking but staying at the camp until we exit the trail on Friday. They are going to pick us up ate Tuolumne Meadow.

From the website:
We are piloting a lottery system for North Pines Campground reservations for arrival dates from July 21 through September 14. Successful lottery applicants will have an opportunity to make a reservation for campsites in North Pines Campground during an early access period. The early access period will occur before the traditional on-sale dates, with any remaining availability becoming available on the usual on-sale dates (five months in advance on the 15th of the month). The goals of this pilot are to:
Hello everyone.
I am planning a week long trip to YNP for July of this year. After much reading, I have decided that I would like to stay at Slough Creek campground. Reservations become available 6 months in advance on the recreation.gov website, at 1000 EST. For the past week or so, I have tried to make reservations exactly at 1000, but in less than 5 seconds it becomes fully booked. In fact, I have never seen an available campsite since I've started looking.
I know that the campground is popular, but I am just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience, or am I doing something wrong? If anyone has any advice, or recommendations for other campgrounds to explore the NE part of the park, please let me know! FWIW, I understand that many campgrounds offer a portion of sites on a FCFS basis, however I would prefer to have a reservation.
Thank you!

The biggest (and only) campground in the Meadows will be closed at least a year. Crane Flat and Bridalveil will close as well. All for renovations.
Not sure where backpackers will be able to stay the night before trips. As if camping in Yosemite weren't hard enough already....
Yosemite is going to try a lottery system for North Pines campground this year. Details for this pilot program can be found at the Yosemite website. The North Pines lottery application period will be open Jan. 18 through Feb. 6 via recreation.gov. Winners will be chosen Feb. 10 and then be able to make reservations from Feb. 18 through March 10 for arrival dates at North Pines between July 21 and Sept. 14.
Looking to camp last minute in Yosemite Valley this weekend, most of the campgrounds I have checked online are full. This sub has been helpful for me with permits and things before, does anyone have suggestions or should I just give up the valley idea and camp outside the park? Thanks in advance.
A friend and I have a list minute opportunity to visit Yosemite on the weekend of October 8th. We're hoping to pick up a campground off a cancellation, or share if anyone has some extra space. We'd be happy to pay for the reservation either way, and if sharing I'll pack some extra food and drinks.
We're both avid hikers and photographers so would be out all day exploring. Just need a spot to sleep! It would also be great to meet some new people with similar interests!
Thanks for reading, Landon
