Yasuomi Umetsu Puns

A KITE is a 1998 anime film directed by Yasuomi Umetsu. The soundtrack was composed by Ann Fu. If you haven’t seen the movie the closest I can compare the OST to is the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Lots of jazz and ambient/piano stuff. The soundtrack is insanely unique and it’s pretty sad that the whole thing isn’t available anywhere. To my knowledge there was no physical release but some tracks are available on youtube (in very low quality). I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find anything.

It’s possible that the soundtrack is in the hands of the studio (ARMS) but as of last year ARMS has gone defunct and filed for bankruptcy. I don’t know what this means for the OST but can’t see it being preserved well. I can’t even find much about Ann Fu anywhere online either. It’s super strange and I wonder if anyone’s looked into this as well? Is this lost forever?

So the character designs are undoubtedly the most divisive aspect of this game. We've all seen or were people who complained about it being too anime, too oversexualized, or simply not being good designs. Particularly when it comes to the rare blades.

But what you may not know, is that the blades are all designed by different artists and designer, and not just anyone, many of these are high-profile, some of whom you may recognize and even be a fan of.

So here I complied a list of all rare blades revealed so far, as well as who designed them, where you might know them from, and a link to a piece of art that might showcase their style.

So, don't like a design, now you know exactly who to blame.

Finch - Kunihiko Tanaka (veteran Monolith Soft designer, worked on most Xeno games, including Xenoblade Chronicles X)

Vasara - Yasushi Suziki (highly prolific artist for all types of mediums, but Nintendo fans know him best for his work in Sin & Punishment)

Floren - Taiki (Digimon World)

Kubira and Azami - hakus (couldn't find a game or manga he worked on, but his art is easy to find, and pretty distinctive)

Uka - Nakaba Higurashi ( artist for Baten Kaitos)

Raiko - Asato Mizu (writer and illustrator of Denki-gai no Honya-san)

Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???

Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.

Since the month of February has 28 days and there’s 28 non-story blades, let’s dedicate a day to discuss each blade. The purpose of these discussions is to help guide newer players on each blade’s strengths and shortcomings, and which driver is compatible for them. The focus aspects of the discussion will be blade performance both in battle and on the field, although other topics such as design and personality are free for discussion as well. Day 24: Vale, our resident Edgelord! She’s a Dark ATK blade and uses a megalance in battle. She gives her driver a 15% Ether stat modifier. This isn’t really useful unless her driver has a bitball or an ether cannon equipped as well. I wish her and Herald’s (15% Strength) were switched tbh. It makes more sense to me. Anyways, her design is very much a girl that writes homerotic Harry Potter fanfiction and her personality is a little edgy, but shows she cares about some things.

Vale enjoys desserts and textiles, with her favorites being Prickly Snowpickle and Crinkly Wool. A little odd, but ok.

She can be obtained through opening a random core crystal.

Blade Specials

Blood Altar- Increases damage dealt by at least 100% and at most 150% when HP is below 30%. …………………. I’m not a fan of this. Moving on!

Tainted Palace- Gives Vale at most a 5% chance of felling a beast on contact. This is similar to Perceval’s passives, although instead of humans, Vale does this with beasts. Luckily for you, there’s tons of enemies labeled as beasts. Unluckily for you, you have at most a 5% chance, which isn’t great, but it’s something. It’ll hardly happen but it’s cool when it does.

Accursed Prison- Adds a 60% to 100% chance of dealing a guard annulling attack. This is pretty great for an ATK blade, which allows Vale to mitigate an enemy’s defenses. You will need to finish her blade quest in order to level this up completely.

Blade Arts: Vale’s awesome in the sense that she’s one of the only blades that has 3 of these. She

Keep in mind, my son is 4 years old, so everything is an original to him.

I had to work late into the evening yesterday, and he was just going to bed when I got home. I had left home for the office nearly 14 hours prior, had a long day, lots of meetings, traffic, etc.

When I walked through the door, I was exhausted, run down, and starving. My wife hugged me and asked how my day was, and I replied, "Done. It was a good day, but has got me exhausted. I just want to grab a bite and go to bed. I'm hungry."

From my son's bedroom, I hear him shout, "Hi Hungry! Nice to meet you!"

Not only did it make me laugh, but I completely forgot about how hungry and tired I was. I went to his bedroom, and we laughed together about it. It was exactly what I needed.
