Letβs settle thisβ¦and discuss!
Figured I would come back to Brahms, as I have only recently begun to appreciate his orchestral works. I look forward to seeing what you all think, which concerto of his is your favorite? Why does it top your list? More soon!
Hi there, I just learned about these two and love them both. Love to hear any thoughts comparing and contrasting them. Which for you captures the spirit of the piece more -- or just differently?
Hello all,
as I am working more and more on making music, I found myself with sounds I like, but way too many notes in the score to be playable (either piano "solo" works, or event for large ensembles). And when I fell on this quote, I felt the guy held something there..
the thing is that I'm quite a self taught cacophonist, with not much music theory background (and a psychological thing with Solfege) and even though I know and feel that there are quite a few superflous notes in my music: I have absolutely no clue how to remove them without altering too much the sounds, melodies, countermelodies, (dis)harmonies I hear?
Sorry if it's not an appropriate flair, but i would very much appreciate if some of you had some tips about it.
Thank you,
(by the way, I'm not sure I'll ever really share my things. I'm really just making them for my own well being)

Nice to have him return and provide leadership to what will (hopefully) be a retooled offensive line.
What is your favorite Brahms symphony? Mine is the third symphony - so good!
What are some composers that have a similar style to Brahms?
