1· Leafs - 42 points (.700 P%)
2· Rangers - 41 points (.707 P%)
3· Capitals - 41 points (.707 P%)
4· Panthers - 40 points (.714 P%)

As a side note, the old South East division currently has 4 teams in the top 6, which is a significant difference from how bad that division was for most of its existence.
Or is this an indication of a “Mickey Mouse” league?
Below is a tweet detailing the NHL division sponsorships. https://twitter.com/lukefoxjukebox/status/1346472988992884736?s=20
Hey Krakheads,
This is what I hope will be the first of a four part series of posts giving a capsule summary of names to keep an eye on this abbreviated NHL season. We're a long way out from the expansion draft so this is intended to be more a "Who's who" of potential targets for starting our franchise. I've tried my best to identify names that should be available to us and will be good for building a team around.
None of the players I've listed here are sure bets nor do any of the names here really constitute an endorsement. I've tried my best to identify talent that might reasonably be exposed. I picked two or three players from each team. Keep an eye on these players here as you enjoy the season, some of them might be here next year. Or argue with me and call me an asshole. This is Seattle after all.
We'll start with the Western Conference and our home Pacific Division.
Remember: Players who are rookies or are in their second year, as well as any unsigned draft picks, are exempt from the expansion draft and do not need protection.
EXPANSION DRAFT RULES:
Teams MUST expose:
A defenseman who is under contract in 2021-22 and has played in 40 or more games during the prior season or at least 70 games in the prior two seasons.
Two forwards who are under contract in 2021-22 and played at least 40 games the prior season or at least 70 games in the prior two seasons.
A goalie under contract in 2021-22 or one who will be a restricted free agent at the end of his existing contract prior to 2021-22. If a team chooses to make a restricted free agent goalie available, that goalie must have received his qualifying offer prior to the submission of the team’s protected list

#LAS VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 2019-2020 Record 39-24-8-86
The Golden Knights are totally exempt because the league is obsessed with hockey in the desert and made this part of their expansion deal One hopes we get similar treatment and a stacked franchise right off the bat. Its borderline unfair that they have been the dominant franchise since coming into existence.
#EDMONTON OILERS 2019-20 Record 37-25-9-83
Exempt Players:
Bergland, Filip (D), Bouchard, Evan (D), Broberg, Philip (D), Lavoie, Raphael (F), McLeod, Ryan (F), Maksimov, Kirill (F), Rodrique, Olivier (G), Samorukov, Dmitri (D)
Players to watch (age):
This has only occurred twice in NHL history. I’ve provided a short recap of each Game 7 and also included a bonus year from before the playoff format was changed in 1982.

Eastern Conference Finals Game 7
New Jersey Devils @ Philadelphia Flyers
Philadelphia had a 3-1 series lead in this series but New Jersey forced a Game 7 with a 4-1 road win in Game 5 followed by a 2-1 win at home in Game 6.
Patrick Elias opened the scoring with a power play goal at 6:44 of the 1st period. Rick Tocchet responded with his own power play goal at 6:01 of the 2nd period.
With 2:32 left in the 3rd period, Patrick Elias scored his second goal of the game to send the Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals.
This game is also remembered for Scott Steven’s hit that concussed Eric Lindros midway through the first period. Lindros exited the game following the hit and this would ultimately be the final game he would play for the Flyers.
Final score: New Jersey 2-1 Philadelphia
Western Conference Finals Game 7
Colorado Avalanche @ Dallas Stars
Dallas jumped out to a 3-0 lead with 2 power play goals in the 1st by Sergei Zubov and Mike Modano respectively followed by a Roman Lyashenko goal in the 2nd period. Colorado rallied back with 2 third period goals to make it a 3-2 game including a short-handed goal from Peter Forsberg
With 15 seconds remaining in the game Ray Bourque’s shot was denied by the goalpost which would’ve sent the game to overtime. Dallas cleared and held on for the win.
Final score: Dallas 3-2 Colorado
2000 Stanley Cup Final Result: New Jersey defeats Dallas in 6 games

Eastern Conference Finals Game 7
Tampa Bay Lightning @ New York Rangers
Just like they did in Game 5 of this series the Lighting shutout the Rangers 2-0 at Madison Square Garden. Both Tampa goals came in the 3rd period. The first from Alex Killorn and the second from Ondrej Palat.
Final Score: Lightning 2-0 Rangers
Western Conference Finals Game 7
Chicago Blackhawks @ Anaheim Ducks
After a great back and forth series, Game 7 between the Blackhawks and Ducks was pretty one-sided. The score doesn’t reflect it but the Blackhawks dominated this game leading 4-0 at one point. The Ducks scored twice in the third with their second goal coming with 41 seconds left in the game.
Final Score: Blackhawks 5-3 Ducks
2015 Stanley Cup Final Result: Chicago defeats Tampa Bay in 6 games
