Polish E11 Oblique Numbers Station VERY WEAKLY Received In USA
Hi,
So I had heard that the Polish numbers station E11 "Oblique" can sometimes be heard in the USA when propagation is very good. It was extremely weak, but here is my recording. Has anyone else picked this station up in the US?

Need a last minute Christmas present? How about turning your loved ones into prime number?
Some benevolent dictator
How? Easy!
- We resize the image to contain at most a certain amount of pixels. This is too avoid having to look for too large primes.
- Run various image processing steps like edge enhancement and smoothing before converting the image into grey-scale.
- We then quantise the image into just having 5 to 10 grayness levels.
- Now we map each grayness level to a digit, et voila, we have embedded the picture into a number. 5. It now remains to tweak some of the digits until we find a prime number that still looks like the image.
You can find a simply CLI tool to perform the above here: https://github.com/LeviBorodenko/primify
Note: According to the prime number theorem, the density of prime numbers is asymptotically of order 1/log(n). Hence, if we have some number n with m digits, the number of primality tests that we expect to do until we hit a prime number is roughly proportional to m. Since we use the BaillieβPSW primality test, the overall expected computational complexity of our prime searching procedure is O(n\*log(n)Β³).

Pedro Martinez from 97 to 2003 has probably the best prime of any pitcher ever in baseball. His numbers, especially if you buy into the steroid era curve, are borderline video game level.
He already probably owns the best pitching season ever in 2000. But then you look at his years from 97 to 2003 and dude is routinely over 5 WAR a year with insane strikeout percentages. This is where wins and losses don't matter to me. He's the most dominant pitcher I got to watch.

What horror movies are prime examples of having interesting concepts but weak executions?
Iβm sure there are tons of examples but I canβt think of one personally at the moment. I just thought it was a good question to ask and one that could start a great discussion. Iβm just sort of rambling at the moment so I can fill out the needed characters to be able to post this haha.

Is there any prime number like 5?
When you sum up 2 + 3 = 5, 2 and 3 are primes.
The thing is after 2 and 3, it happens that the next prime number is 5. Is there any example where the sum of all "previous" prime numbers equal the "current" prime number aside from 5?
2 + 3 + 5 + 7 = 17, but it skips 11 and 13.
Thank you.

Weakly supervised learning with microscopy images and eggs
Hi,
I am trying to detect which parts of a microscopy image are out of focus and how far (from z-stacked images). Sadly I only have data that is not annotated. I have focus values for the main focus plain but some of the objects that should be in focus are not always on that plane. I also have some annotated data with these objects (possibly later on also annotations on which plane is in focus).
What do you think is the best approach for this kind of problem. I thought of multiple approaches:
- Using the main focus plane but hand annotating/using objects in focus to override the focus plane on these places
- Hand labelling some images (maybe 100 to 1000) and
- training a model on these,
- then using that model to auto annotated some images with the trained model (for example annotate 1000 images manually and 1000 with the trained model)
- now train again on the combined set of images. Use the now trained model to relabel the automatic annotated images + some more.
- Using some approach like Snorkel where annotated objects and focus of the whole image focus plane are used as weak supervision signals.
What do you think of my approaches (as of now I favour approach 2 or a combination of this with either 1 or 3)?
Also do you have any recommended papers that might help me out here?
Thanks in advance!
