Endgame was out two years ago now, oh my, but it's still a fresh topic, so for your pleasure here's another rant about the movie. The title says it all, but I give some more details.

The final battle of Endgame doesn't really feel like a desperate fight to save the universe and the general feeling is that Thanos is at a severe disadvantage against the heroes even though the film desperately wants to convince us otherwise.

Yes, we see Thanos defeating the trinity 2 times, but that's it. He almost gets killed by Wanda and Carol and his entire army, including his children (who give the avengers a run for their money in Infinity War), are essentially cannon fodders who are wiped out in fleets by the heroes's army.

"But Thanos almost won" yes, but by pure luck and plot-induced stupidity on the part of the protagonists. Let's be serious, by the time Carol arrives, destroys Thanos's mothership and takes the gauntlet, Thanos would be screwed.

And even if we don't count Carol, the battlefield is full of sorcerers whose abilities would be a serious problem for Thanos, but we don't see anyone engaging him in combat (I mean in an smart way, the only sorcerer we see going against Thanos goes full "leeroy jenkins" mode and is promptly cut in half by the big purple boi).

The rain of fire, the only moment, beside when he defeats Carol and almost snaps his fingers, where Thanos takes the upper hand on the battlefield is severely downpayed because we see the sorcerers protecting everyone with their magical shields and the overwhelming majority of losses is on the Thanos's side.

All of these make Tony's snap of fingers seems really unnecessary; Thanos was already exhausted and wounded, his army severely decimated, take the stones away from him and the only thing left to him is to be beaten to death by carol, wanda and the other top-tiers.

Instead, having all the heroes truly desperate to defeat Thanos, throwing everything they had at him (having the sorcerers continuously casting spells at him, Thor trying to use the bifrost on him, iron man throwing the iron legion at him , Carol going all out etc.) and able only to slow it down but not stop him even without the stones (perhaps giving him a power-set closer to that of the comics, obviously scaled to the MCU's power level), makes the final sacrifice much more justified and it give a completely different intensity to the battle. I'm okay with The Army being cannon fodder for the minor characters, but Thanos himself sho

I ended up wanting to create this thread when I rewatched endgame. To be plain thanos and his army kinda suck like they build him up to be the universes most powerful individual' they talk about how he subjected and genocided numerous planets and generally every major character hyped him up as a very strong and dangerous individual who had a powerfull army backing him but then you look at him and his army for what they're actual strength is and its...disappointing to say the least.

• first let's talk about his army before we get to the big man himself. The chitarui are one of his major factions in battle we first see them in avengers 1 and then in infinity war on gamoras home planet and finally in endgame. You would expect them to be very strong but you would infact be wrong as they are just fodder for the main characters to kill" like you would be hard pressed to find an impressive moment for them as most of they're on screen time is them dying. To make matters worse literally every hero in endgame is treated as being able to kill them as if they're nothing like what threat do they propose when they're treated like cannon fodder. They're weapons consist of standard pew pew guns and alien grenades but guess what? That still doesn't stop them being treated like fodder. What about the chitarui ship in avengers 1? Well they get nuked and that's end of that promblem. That's right folks the strongest army of the universe under the man himself that raided coutless planets got done in by a nuke...

• all right the chitarui aren't the best but they're just one faction surely the others will be more be impressive like say the outsiders? Well not really as they face the same problem. They're treated as fodder by every character. They get bitched slapped by captain America and black panther but hey they're super soilders so they get a pass but then later on in the wakanda battle they're getting delt in by bullet's (rocket,bucky,etc) and standard humans. To give some credit they were gonna eventually overwhelm the wakanda side and were even pushing back against the hulkbuster before thor's arrival but then that's taken back because in endgame a whole platoon of them were slaughtered by Hawkeye and you want know one of the weapons he used to kill them? A standard fucking sword...oh and every hero treats them as fodder in endgame but oh well.

Please. Feige is just using political talks because AoS fans would have a heart attack if he actually confirmed the show is not canon. But for all intents and purposes, the shows prior to D+ have nothing to do with the main continuity (even though they try very hard to pretend they do).

In 2019 Feige implied that any show before Wandavision was not canon, by stating that the Disney+ shows were the first shows that would interlink with the MCU (as in back and forth).

This happened a few years ago when my son was 6ish. When my kids hurt themselves and it doesn’t look serious I always do the “we might have to amputate that bruised hand” shtick with them. I’ve done it enough that they now roll their eyes.

So, my son got hit lightly in the face with a rubber ball. It wasn’t a hard hit and I could tell he was more upset by the shock of it rather than the pain. So I say “looks like we will have to amputate your nose.” To which he replies “then how will I smell?” And I say “terrible!”

It was my greatest dad joke ever. I felt like I could retire after that.

Note: Obviously, most of these projects are not going to happen and I acknowledge some of them shouldn't happen. I am just simply having fun with this post.

These are just random rough ideas and for most of them, I have zero expectations that they will happen. This is all just in good fun.

1. Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier (Disney+):

Bucky has now completed his journal and has provided closure with those hurt by his actions as the Soldier. However, he's still left with the question of where does he go now? There's also the fact that his trauma still hasn't been fully resolved.

He's forced to return to the line of duty when called in by someone like Contessa to retrieve some sort of MacGuffin stolen by AIM. The MacGuffin in this case can be the Mad-Bomb, a device that when activated, turns everyone in its radius into rage zombies.

This, however, ends up putting him in conflict with the Winter Guard, Russia's equivalent to the Avengers who's after the same thing. I also want Yelena to appear in a prominent role in the show, either as an ally of Bucky or a part of the Guard. Either way would work and would be a good chance to see a version of the Bucky/Widow dynamic.

The story would focus on the themes of mental health and how much of one's identity do you give up to something, whether it be your government, your nation, or a cause. Most of the characters in this show should be puppets to someone else and Bucky is a puppet trying to keep his strings cut. He doesn't want to be pulled back into becoming someone's plaything again.

Bucky's arc would revolve around his dynamic with his past and each phase he's been in, meaning we'd get to see flashbacks to each different aspect of his life. The kid from Brooklyn, the Howling Commando, the Winter Soldier, the fugitive in Bucharest, the White Wolf, etc. Each episode can also have flashbacks to these different points in time.

The end result would be him realizing that all of these aspects are a part of who he is and he can't ignore any of them. But he shouldn't define himself based on one aspect. In the end, he's all of them.

The end title card can go from Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier to just Bucky Barnes, symbolizing that in the end, he isn't just defined by one thing, he is all of these identities.

2. Heroes for Hire (Disney+):

You can view this as either a soft reboot of the Netflix versions of these characters or a complete reboot with

'Eye-do'

I’m surprised no one else has even considered this theory so I guess I’ll do it myself.

The Disney Plus shows are meant to fill in the gaps in the mcu. Wanda getting over vision, Sam getting his suit, Loki escaping , ect.

Remember the reason why hulk didn’t wanna come out during infinity war was never canonically answered (Were not going to count the deleted scenes as cannon, even if we did their retconned by endgame). Nor was how banner discovered how to create professor hulk.

So there’s a big gap or plot hole in the mcu that needs to be explained. While I’m no expert on comic book she hulk, I grew up watching the hulk animated series.

In said series, Banners cousin was researching the hulk, with the help of banner they perfect the formula, she gets hurt and banner uses it on her creating she hulk.

Sorta sounds perfect for a mcu Disney plus.

After infinity war banner meets his cousin, they perfect the formula, she gets hurt and has to take it, and banner takes it to become professor hulk. Perfectly bringing the gap as Disney plus shows like to do.

Now the question arises, why wasn’t she in endgame? To that, I simply say pick a reason. She was probably off hanging with the AOS Inhumans or the defenders.
