A list of puns related to "Virginia State Route 267"
Two night ago as I was hanging my bear bag my rope got caught on a branch and as I was trying to pull it down it snapped. (Cheap plastic lightweight twine). So for the last couple nights Iβve been putting my bear bag as high as I can reach on tree branches.
Last night I hung it on a tree no more than ten feet from my tent. Around 10pm as I lay in my tent I hear sticks snapping, then a loud thud followed by the sounds of a bear ripping open my bag and eating all my food. Keep in mind this was mere feet away from my tent. I shouted and shouted but the bear didnβt give no Fβs, the chomping didnβt stop at all. This went on for most of the night as I had three whole days worth of food. Also, maybe 30 minutes into the bear eating, two coyotes, one on the right and on on the left of my tent started yelling and howling. Iβve never heard coyotes that close, Iβd say they were no more than 50 meters away. The howling went on maybe five minutes until it stopped and I later heard it again maybe a mile away.
I know this all sounds like a story but I swear to god this was my night last night. I slept clutching my knife all night.
This morning the packaging from all my food was strewn all over the campground. I picked it all up and I tried to scoop the food scraps from the dirt but couldnβt get everything.
I just want people to be aware what could happen when you donβt hang and store your food properly. Luckily I had no food in my bag or my tent but if I did Iβm sure the bear would have tried to tear my tent open.
I feel awful. This was terrifying and Iβm worried Iβve created a problem bear.
Does anyone else have a similar experience, and also I want to report this to the forest/park service, anyone know how I can do that?
Thanks all.
fuck you virginia, I hate you almost as much as texas with its thousands of bullshit farm roads
Hi All,
We're taking a vacation. Driving from NC to Maine. We're taking our bikes! Looking for good places to ride along the way. Trails, Bike paths, etc.
I want to make this trip in 5 days. Would I run into issues taking the northern route? If so, I would drive all the way to Salt Lake City then cut up from there.
I believe I would still hit the rockies. Is there anything on any of these routes that are a likely delayer for a 5 day trip across the US?
Sorry I couldn't show the route to Utah. My phone isn't allowing me to drag the routes down as needed.
EDIT: now that im in front of my computer I had the chance to drag my route down. here is what i feel is the safe route
